Welve

Introduction

Welve is pronounced Well-vv. The term comes from the word 'Wolf' or 'Wolves'.

The Welve are a canine species covered in fur. They have upright pointed ears, sharp eyes and nose, sharp teeth and claws. Their fur overall is fairly short, however is much fluffier around their mane and butt area. Their tail is incredibly long with longer fur as well.

Being a fairly solitary creature, the Welve are no mere simple wolf, and are one of the most versitile and useful familiars one can summon.

Height and Weight

Welve are on average a little bigger than grey wolves, being more the size of dire wolves at 3.3 feet (101.6 cm) tall at the shoulders. Much like their height, they're also very heavy. As their body is mostly muscle, they usually weigh on average 155 pounds (72.5 kg).

Body Structure

Welve's body structure is similar to that of regular wolves, albeit they have more muscles than their non familiar counterparts. Their tendons are tight and hair follicles sensitive, giving them heightened reflexes and sensitivity to things around them. Their fur is also dense and highly insulated to keep them warm or cool depending on the weather.

Teeth

Welve don't have very remarkable teeth, as they are the same as regular canines or wolves, however their bone density is higher and their teeth sharper than their non familiar counterparts.

Feet

Welve have regular sized feet, much akin to dogs rather than wolves and their larger paws. While wolves tend to have larger more fluffy paws, Welves have shorter fured and smaller feet, much more like those of German Shepherds. However, they also have longer claws, meant for digging into things better, proving they're proficient diggers and gashers.

Alone

Welves are very introverted creatures, thus have no issues being alone. Despite that, they cannot handle being alone for too terribly long and will eventually seek out a friend or ally to hang with. When alone, they are quiet and relaxed, usually finding something they enjoy doing on their own and spending their time on that.

Around its Master

Welves forge a strong bond with their master or summoner. This person is someone they cherish greatly and show great favor to, often opting to spend time or hang around this person often. They are their go-to person if they're ever lonely or need help. Around their master they are both more carefree and relaxed than around others, but also highly protective of their master and thus tend to get overly defensive.
