The world of Micaerth was created by, is inhabited by, and is watched over by a number of deities. They may rarely speak to Micaerthians, but their effects can be regularly felt. There are 16 commonly worshipped deities, although specific races or individuals may worship some more than others. For example, most Kyoaku dragons are not religious, but those who are religious routinely worship Acies, the god of war. For another example, many historians give praise to Captio, the god of knowledge.
Micaerth was created by the two first and most powerful deities, Caedysa and Vyta. Caedysa and Vyta were alone in the universe until they found each other. Vyta had the power to create but found that she didn't have the inspiration to create anything she thought was meaningful.
Caedysa had the power to destroy, to decay. Everything she touched or interacted with seemed to just disappear. In the vast expanse of space, Caedysa and Vyta found each other and fell terribly in love. With the combination of their powers, they created Micaerth. The combination of creation and decay balanced each other out and created a planet that could sustain itself with a circle of death and rebirth.

Goddess of Death, True Neutral. She once wallowed in isolation, unable to hold anything close without it decaying. She met Vyta, a beautiful goddess she could hold close without destroying. She is in charge of making sure that things expire over time.
vyta
Goddess of Creation. True Neutral. She possesses the incredible power to create and breathe life into what she wills. For the longest time, she found herself uninspired - feeling empty no matter what she created. She wanted someone, something to bond with, connect with. She found a connection in Caedysa, a beautiful goddess with the ability to take away life. She is in charge of breathing life into the world and all living things.
