Darkcrawlers

Darkcrawlers

Darkcrawlers came from dark elves who worshipped Noctis, the god of darkness. They routinely performed blood sacrifices and other rituals in the name of Noctis and enjoyed spreading chaos. In exchange for their devotion, Noctis granted them powers and shaped them to his image. Nowadays, only some Darkcrawlers still worship Noctis.

Darkcrawlers typically live in large cities and mixed elf villages, although there are a couple of small Darkcrawler settlements.

People view Darkcrawlers as haybringers of chaos and destruction. Orthodox Darkcrawlers are ones that still worship Noctis. They often perform blood rituals once per month in honor of Noctis. They deeply believe in pure bloodlines and dislike interracial relationships - meaning they only support relationships with other Darkcrawlers or Dark Elves. Some extreme Darkcrawlers believe in cannibalism as the absolute worship of Noctis, but most Darkcrawlers do not engage in cannibalistic practices. Some Darkcrawlers are chaotic and/or evil - mostly orthodox Darkcrawlers, but many Darkcrawlers just have neutral attitudes and look out for themselves. Many have to contend with discrimination and prejudice.

Darkcrawlers were known for forging the Reiwana blade and imbuing it with a dark curse. It was wielded by many Darkcrawlers, but was eventually stolen by the Hogosha clan due to the misuse of the blade. It has been kept protected by the Hogosha clan for many years.

Traditional Darkcrawler naming conventions revolve around Latin influences and most orthodox Darkcrawlers name their children after things that invoke chaos or darkness - after Noctis. Common name suffixes include:

> Is (male)
> Ise (female)
> Us (male)
> Use (female)
> Ex (unisex)
> Ra (female)
> Io (male)
