Lovelyta Ranch's Bulletins

Welcome back everyone! May has been extremely busy as I'm finishing up my education and literally had to do a last-minute language exam - that I did half-sick, yay - and I also had a week of travel. Things should calm down a bit at least for the next 2 months, enough so that I might start drawing again as soon as I'm mentally rested enough to have the creative juices flowing again.

Winter passed in Lovelyta and I did literally nothing for it, no matter how much I wanted to, so we resume with the rollover and start year 4 here in June.

Thoroughbred news:

  • Reborning Future turned 15 in good health, safely carrying the foal from LR Hell Hath no Furie and Malström. We are excited about the birth of this baby in Spring.
  • Compass Morale turned 4 and came down lame after an unfortunate incident with a starting gate. She still managed to run some races and did really well this season, going up to Listed races.
  • Egyptian Mau turned 4 and only raced a couple of times, not bringing home anything interesting. She might need some more time to mature.
  • LR Emergency Code turned 7 and still raced, but didn't bring anything big home. We are considering retiring him and retraining for another discipline to accomodate his age, a decision will be made about it throughout the year.
  • LR Hell Hath no Furie turned 6 and kept on racing as always, bringing home some more nice results. We might keep her running for one more year before retiring her.
  • LR Stupid Cupid turned 2 and started his training, entering his first few races. He immediately broke his maiden and then had some other beautiful race results which points to a promising career.
  • LR Thunderstorm turned 4 and had an interesting year. After refusing to start on his first race this year, he went on to have a few average results and then won the last 6 races of his season. We are absolutely thrilled with him!
  • NEC Big Brother turned 6 and had an incredible year with a lot of wins, ranking up to G3 races!
  • OPS Hallowed Bat turned 11 and competed well in dressage, though multiple times he managed to bite a tongue and get disqualified for blood in the ring.
  • Suicidal Romance turned 9 and gave us a scare with colic, but luckily it wasn't serious and he was able to keep on with his competitions. He went really well in eventing and ranked up to State competitions.

Other horse news:

  • RRS Ebele, RRS Gahiji and RRS Kesia all turned 2 and had nothing major happen to them this year. They have settled into life at LR and we are excited to see how our quagga program will play out.
  • LR Wish of Dreams turned 22 and is currently our oldest horse here. He's still in good health and we are happy to see him holding up so well.
  • LR Queen of Hearts turned 19 and came down with some lameness from the field one day, but quickly recovered. Her pregnancy is also going well and we can't wait to meet the foal in Spring.
  • Cyclon turned 12 and had some competitions but nothing major happened to her this year.
  • Daisy turned 8 years old and we had a very difficult year with her. While trying to use her for endurance races to show that mules can do it just as well as horses, she was disqualified 5 times out of 15 events, and 3 of those were for misbehaviour. She still won a few times but overall we might have to consider finding her something else to do.
  • Heart Throb turned 12 and had some competitions, bringing home average results.
  • IEC Wishing for Stars turned 15 and had a difficult competition season - she was disqualified a few times for her behaviour in the ring which we couldn't really explain, while at other times she went splendidly well. Overall she's now up to State level dressage.
  • Kassendale's Regenbogen turned 9 and competed in cross country this year, ranking up to Regional competitions.
  • Kassendale's Walpurgisnacht turned 11 and had a quiet year with some competitions.
  • LR Against the Odds turned 14 and competed well this year, ranking up to State dressage.
  • LR Cecissa turned 7 years old - how time flies! - and like her sire, she also ranked up to State dressage. Taken the potential we expect she has from her dam, we are excited to see how far she will go.
  • LR Chrysanthemum turned 5 and started more serious training in eventing. She took part in many competitions and seems to be progressing well.
  • LR Golden Sunshine turned 5 this year and started eventing training as well, but this was not quite as easy. She was disqualified several times for refusal, and then had a major fall over an obstacle that cut her competition season short. She recovered successfully and we will see how the new season will treat her.
  • LR Starry Dreams turned 5 and started dressage training, but she had an unfortunate incident as well where a pitchfork was left in her stall and she seriously injured herself, unable to compete for the rest of the year. She healed up and we hope to see her blossom from now on.
  • Mister Sherlock Holmes turned 9 and competed well this year, ranking up to State eventing.
  • Nanook turned 13 and gave us quite the scare with colic, but luckily he recovered. He then started his competing late in the year, and had a few successful results before he acted up in a competition, then had a freak accident in the next one where he ran into the bushes and came up with a fractured leg. While he could be nursed back to health, the best decision was to retire him. Lovelyta will be looking into more huculs to see if we can launch a breeding program.

Lovelyta Ranch Kennels news:

  • SK's Spotted Delight von der Berg turned 3 and is luckily healthy, despite his injury from his younger years. He's living a nice calm life that suits him just fine.
  • BRK's Deadly Nadder vom Vampir turned 5 and did several tests in schuthund with really good results.
  • Celestial Event turned 4 and had a bit of a training injury when she was going for a ball too fast and managed to bite into her own paw. She recovered and did several obedience tests, earning her a CD title.
  • Equipped Key to Your Heart vom Vampir turned 3 and was worked in tracking this year.
  • Graveyard King vom Vampir turned 3 and did tracking tests, earning his TD title.
  • LRK Advent as Equipped turned 1 and had a minor training injury when she bit her own tongue by accident. Despite all the blood it was nothing serious and she managed to earn her CD title this year after successful obedience tests.
  • LRK Astra as Equipped turned 1 and started her schutzhund training, passing her BH exam with 93% and then starting her IPO1 testing.
  • Ninja's Rosenrot vom Werehaus turned 5 and had schutzhund testing this year with good results.
  • SK's Black Storm von der Berg turned 3 and had a minor training injury during tracking practice when she stepped into a nail left out in the forest. It took a bit of time but she recovered and had a blast of a year, earning TDX and VST titles.
  • Wild West vom Vampir turned 5 and had obedience testing, successfully completing several of the tests with high scores.

Injuries:

  • LR Something Special turned 9 and came down with laminitis. It was a lot of struggle this year that left us sad as his sire also had a similar condition. He managed to recover and while his hooves are sensitive, we are hoping he can still continue to compete in dressage.
  • LRK Aspen es Equipped turned 1 and caught a viral infection that ended up with months of struggle to finally bring him back to full health.

Overall I must say this was a nice year, RNG did not go on a killing spree - too much - and a lot of horses and dogs ranked up to the next level which is great to see. I'm looking forward to playing year 4, hopefully I'll have more time to draw horses and dogs and maybe enter some shows, and of course we have foals and breedings coming up as well which is always super exciting. Here's to a nice new year!

Year 3 Autumn review

Posted 2 years, 24 days ago by Lovelyta Ranch ReneeScarted

Autumn came and went... pretty fast, and I got very little done HARPG-wise because I'm graduating my Masters and it's eating up all my time.

  • As the weather slows down, so did life at the ranch, and we started working on building relationships. Sandra started groundwork with Nanook to build him further as an endurance horse, hoping their connection would help them out on the trails.
That's it. That's all I did. I should've put Lovelyta in hiatus again but I love how 1 real life year exactly fits 3 in-game years and that kept me from it. April will be pretty intense too but I might have time freeing up by the end so, some wintery pics? Maybe? I mean it's snowing here right now so at least I have inspiration.

There was a lot I wanted to get done but didn't, including competition entries and breeding. I guess I'll have to postpone some of it to year 4 and just have year 3 as a quiet year where my horses grew and matured - at least I have RNG to keep them active, and we are coming to a brand new rollover in the next update.

Stay safe, and see you all!

Year 3 Summer review

Posted 2 years, 1 month ago by Lovelyta Ranch ReneeScarted

Another season quickly passed on Lovelyta, and now we are again here with our freshest news!

  • Babies on the way! Our retired dressage star Queen found her match and we are awaiting our very first pure gypsy vanner baby for Year 4 Spring!
  • We also got a wonderful opportunity to breed Furie to a wonderful stallion! Since Furie is expected to race this season, we decided to use Rahel as a surrogate mother. Our new thoroughbred hope is also expected for Year 4 Spring!
  • Lovelyta also made a point to advertise our most prominent studs, so our beloved Red King, Wishes, Roman and Hallow got some promotion. We are incredibly proud of them and are excited about all progeny, present and future!
Summer was short, and the rest of the year sounds busy (well, I'm graduating my psychology MA and my thesis is due the middle of April, which gives tight time for HARPG), but we do have some exciting plans for Autumn! There's definitely one more breeding to do so we have a third foal expected for Year 4, and there are also a few competitions that we'd like to enter. With some luck, hopefully I'll get to do that as unwinding from my real life responsibilities.

Year 3 Spring review

Posted 2 years, 2 months ago by Lovelyta Ranch ReneeScarted

I'm terribly behind on actually posting the review, but at least I have been fairly active in HARPG so it's a half-win kind of situation. Spring came and went in Lovelyta as we came into Year 3 and we already have so many happenings!

  • Our beloved Diana gave birth to 9 healthy puppies, but sadly passed away due to complications during the birth. It was an incredibly bittersweet moment and a horrible start of our LRK breeding. We are keeping 3 beautiful pups of the litter to carry on her legacy and are very excited to see at least them develop and thrive. 2 more puppies will go to our affiliate Equip, which means we will have our eyes on most of the litter.
  • Roman officially retired from the track, and started his retraining to become a cross country horse! Where he lacks the patience and precise approach to dressage, he takes to both galloping and jumping quite happily. He still has a lot of "go" from his track days, but he's coming along nicely.
  • We have some more additions to Lovelyta Ranch in the name of breed conservation! RRS Kesia and RRS Gahiji are two young zorse/blurock mule foals who will provide a basis for our future project-based breeding, and we are very excited about it. Many thanks to our new affiliate, Rose Ridge Stables!
Summer is just around the corner and we have exciting plans for it, including both breeding and competing. Let's see how much will actually be achieved, especially since it falls on a pretty short real-life month this year.

Lovelyta awakened during this winter, with quite a few exciting events!

  • Dog training intensified, and Naddie earnt her BH exam and her IPO2title. Thank you Paris for your excellent work on training our dogs!
  • Thoroughbred training did not stop either, which meant that clippings were in order - Moirafor example got quite a nice clip-job and behaved herself during the entire process.
  • Exciting news! Our beloved Diana was matedthanks to an opportunity from our affiliate Equip Kennel & Ranch, and she's expecting her very first litter for year 3 Spring!
  • We have a few new arrivals: Daisyfinally arrived from Patagonia to join Lovelyta Ranch, and we also impored Ebele, a quagga filly. Besides our already existing venus, Lovelyta is looking to take part in supporting endangered or special equines, so mules, quaggas and even zorses are hopefully a go. (It also means a new base was added to the reference template, and I updated the background, too, so horses going forward will appear on the new painted background.)

Quite fitting that as 2021 comes to an end, so does year 2. It was not as eventful as I would've liked, but I'm glad that I still managed to keep the day-to-day life and happenings of Lovelyta in the focus instead of getting lost in competitions and shows, and it should give a very nice basis for year 3.

This also means rollover time, and last time RNG did quite a number on our beloved horses and dogs. Here are the news of everyone individually going into year 3:

Thoroughbred news:

  • Egyptian Mau turned 3 and had a minor little bump in her career when she turned up lame after a race. Still, she managed to run a few times and even won once!
  • LR Emergency Code is now 6, but still going strong in his racing career. He ran well this year and levelled up to Listed races. We will hopefully let him run a season or two before retiring and retraining him for something else.
  • LR Hell Hath no Furie turned 5, and won 5 times this year, coming 2nd twice. She levelled up to G3 level and we'll be excited to see how far she goes!
  • LR Thunderstorm turned 3 and did us a solid on the racetrack! With 4 wins and a second place he flew right into Listed races, indicating some serious talent up his sleeve.
  • NEC Big Brother is now 5, and he had an incident with a starting gate that ruined some of his tack and gave him some surface injuries. He still managed to run some races, but nothing major came in on his end.
  • Suicidal Romance turned 8 and ran his last season of racing, going out with an absolute bang! With 5 wins, 2 second places and a third, he worked himself up to G3 races by the end of the year, finishing on a high note. He will retire from racing now and spend this year being retrained to then hopefully compete in cross country.

Other horse news:

  • LR Chrystanthemum turned 4 and is having a nice time learning the basics under saddle.
  • LR Golden Sunshine turned 4 and is similarly learning things under the saddle, hopefully soon able to start her basic discipline training.
  • LR Stupid Cupid turned 1 without a problem, and looks to be a strong young cold. We are excited to start working him towards the end of the year and see him debut as a 2-year-old.
  • LR Starry Dreams turned 4 and is also learning the basics of being ridden.
  • LR Wish of Dreams, our beloved stallion now 21, had a little lameness during his regular exercises but recovered without a problem.
  • Reborning Future turned 14 and is still in prime fitness after giving us 3 foals. We are considering whether to cover her or not this year, and who to choose as sire.
  • Cyclon turned 11 and had a nice year doing endurance races, slowly progressing in State endurance.
  • Kassendale's Regenbogen turned 8 and had an incredibly productive year! She competed in cross country earning a lot of points and just coming a point shy from Regional level, and also competed in show jumping where she worked herself up to State level!
  • Kassendale's Walpurgisnacht is now 10, and had a great competition year in dressage as he worked himself up to Regional dressage level!
  • LR Cecissa is now 6 (time flies so fast, I still remember when she was born!), and had a few cuts and bites when she had an arguement with another mare in the paddock, but otherwise had a nice year with some nice dressage results.
  • LR Queen of Hearts turned 18 and after a successful year in dressage, she got to International level, basically reaching the end of the career level! Congratulations to her, she really is a star. Due to her age and achievements, she will retire to be a broodmare and have her first purebred foal next year, very excited!
  • LR Something Special turned 8 and gave us a scare when he bit his tongue and started severely bleeding during training. Luckily it wasn't anything serious and he was able to compete this year, even if some of his training needed to be bitless.
  • Mister Sherlock Holmes turned 8 and managed to lose a shoe so well in the dressage arena that we never managed to find it (please be careful in there, people, and watch out not to step on it!). His first Lovelyta competing season was pretty successful as he placed in the top 3 multiple times this year.
  • Nanook is now 12 and had a pretty quiet year, with only a few endurance races.

Lovelyta Ranch Kennel news:

  • BRK's Deadly Nadder vom Vampir turned 4 and had several successful Schutzhund exams this year, working her way up to her IPO2 title!
  • Celestial Event turned 3 and had an uneventful year with several obedience tests.
  • Equipped Key to Your Heart vom Vampir turned 2 and was working on her tracking this year, at such a young age showing a lot of talent for various things!
  • Graveyard King vom Vampir turned 2 and took some tracking exams alongside Keyes.
  • Ninja's Rosenrot vom Werehaus turned 4 and earnt her BH exam with 90% score. She then went ahead to take Schutzhund exams and with outstanding skill earnt her IPO1 and IPO2 titles!
  • Black Storm von der Berg turned 2 and she was worked in tracking this year as well.
  • Wild West vom Vampir turned 4 and took obedience tests this year, earning his CD title.

Injuries and bad news:

  • Compass Morale turned 3 and had a serious leg injury as she was preparing for the track. She was put on lots of rest in order to recover, and will start work around year 3 Fall.
  • Heart Throb, now 11, managed to get a leg stuck in the fence on the pasture, earning him some time off training while his cuts and bruises recovered. He'll be as good as new by year 3 Summer.
  • IEC Wishing for Stars turned 14, and gave us quite a scare with a bad case of colic. We were incredibly lucky she got the care she needed immediately and survived. She should be back in training by year 3 Summer.
  • LR Against the Odds turned 13 and developed laminitis, which took quite a while to cure. He recovered but remained sensitive, so we are closely monitoring him to decide whether he needs retirement. He'll be taking it easy until year 3 Autumn.
  • Black Diamond Indigo gave birth to our first LRK litter, A litter, with 9 pups! However, the birth was long and something went wrong, ending with our beloved Diana leaving us here with the pups, all alone. She just turned 5 years old and will be sorely missed.
  • This was not the end of tragedies for LRK, sadly. Dusk Still Down showed signs of colic after dinner one day and even though he was brought to the vet and into surgery as soon as possible, his life couldn't be saved. He just turned 5, and with Diana's loss we are in deep mourning now to have lost two of our dogs.
  • SK's Spotted Delight von der Berg, now 2, managed to over-use his other legs while recovering from his knee injury from last year, and we were fearing he'd need another surgery. Luckily we managed to put him on proper rehab, but he will be probably back to his old self by year 3 Autumn.

It was such a mixed year - a lot fewer serious injuries than last year, but on the other hand, whatever we did have was very serious. Still a bit shocked RNG offed 2 of my dogs, but having the A litter is a pretty exciting and hopeful thing! Next year there's even more breeding and training and new things for Lovelyta, including the kennels being expanded from 10 to 20 kennels to give us even better opportunity for working with dogs.

Happy new year, we wish everyone a successful 2022 and year 3!

Year 2 Autumn review

Posted 2 years, 4 months ago by Lovelyta Ranch ReneeScarted

I literally did nothing except for NaNoWriMo so just a few heads up regarding news of LR that happened "off-screen"

  • Kassendale's Regenbogen seems to have recovered from her injury and will be put back into training during this coming winter, hopefully ready to continue taking on the world in year 3!
  • Kassendale's Walpurgisnacht is on the same schedule, also clearing his vet check from his pasture injury at the start of the year.
  • LR Chrysanthemum seems to have taken this long to get over the horrible infection that attacked her at the beginning of the year. This set her training back quite a bit, but hopefully she will work off her disadvantage in the coming months.
  • LR Emergency Code is due for some exercise as well, we are still crossing fingers for him to make it back for his 6-year-old career.
  • Ninja's Rosenrot vom Werehaus is back to full health after her incident with the window, and is absolutely frizzing with energy!
  • Black Diamond Indigo also seems to have adjusted to her new lifestyle which has no extensive movement for her. We are looking forward to having her first litter now that she's back to full health, so stay tuned!
One more season to go and then we have the end of the year things again, and we're off to year 3! Year 2 literally flew by us and it's crazy to realize that we're soon into the 3rd in-game year.

Year 2 Summer review

Posted 2 years, 5 months ago by Lovelyta Ranch ReneeScarted

We are back, after a month's break! Not much happened during summer either as I had art to do elsewhere, but we still have some news from the farm:

  • Our summer was full of training, mostly! LR Thunderstorm was caught in the act of lunging, while Egyptian Mau and Compass Morale are running quite nicely under saddle. We hope the batch of them will be ready for their 2-year-old debut in racing soon.
  • Our newest baby LR Stupid Cupid is 3 months old and seems to have quite a spirit we are hoping to see in races in a few years!
  • News from the SDE Spring Zen Show, where Hope, Red King, Martha and Nova have won 1st place in pas de deux dressage! Congratulations to them!
Notable results from Lovelyta Ranch Kennels, which wasn't idle either:

  • Keyes won reserve Best of Breed in the Saratoga Falls No-Effort RNG Sept 2021, as well as CD title in obedience and TDX title in tracking!
  • She also won junior Winner's Bitch, Best of Breed and Group Winner in the W2 [FCI] No Effort RNG Show. She's having an incredible start to her career and we are very proud of her, and thankful to her breeder.
  • Spotty won junior Winner's Dog and Best of Opposite Sex in the W2 [FCI] No Effort RNG Show, making LRK nicely represented in the german shepherd dog winner's ring!
For autumn I hope to be able to do some more, and show more of the daily life of LR. Trying not to focus on competitions too much but also take part in some, which is a tricky balance but needs to be figured out so I don't get burnt out. The 2-year-old tbs surely need a debut race, and we still have a dog breeding to conclude where Diana is supposed to have her first litter! It will be quit exciting to see the first LRK-Equipped babies.

Spring came and spring went, kinda like my motivation/muse, but later on that. Here is a brief list of what happened at Lovelyta during spring:

  • Reborning Future gave birth to our first 100% homebred foal, LR Stupid Cupid!  It's a beautiful bay splash colt who gave us a scare not long after birth, but showed his fighter spirit already by pulling through. He now happily frolics on the pasture with his mother.
  • LR Emergency Code continued the Trinity Cup journey (though it still counts for Year 1). He received quite a gift and then ran the Rosendal Classic where he came 7th if I recall correctly.
  • Hope and Martha took our beautiful friesians Red King and Nova to showcase some traditional Hungarian spirit on the SDE Spring Zen Show! We are still waiting to hear how they did.
And now onto a bit less happier news. I don't know why but I managed to get a burn-out, which means I haven't drawn a line in like two weeks - my latest HARPG art is for the Rosendal Classic and even that I forced myself to finish because I'm a completionist and Codi was doing so well in the second leg. I have no inspiration right now, no images within me, and life got incredibly stressful for me, so the depression I sometimes struggle with made a comeback. Additionally, I'm starting my last year of university, I need to do a thesis, a language exam, and do internship work to receive my diploma in the spring. Classes start in a week, so I decided to put HARPG on a hiatus during September, making October year 2 summer, hopefully. I hope to see what my workload will be with uni, as well as give myself some time to recover my mental health and get my art spirits back.

Wishing y'all the best!

Winter passed rather uneventfully (I felt a bit burnt out by all my June activity for fall, and I had Camp NaNoWriMo for July), so we don't have much to report.

  • Sandra, Nanook and Cyclon successfully returned home after their Patagonia adventures. After a brief resting period, they are all looking towards a new challenge, so keep an eye out to be seeing them in endurance during year 2!
  • LR Emergency Code and Tom came 9th in the Trinity Cup out of a field of 16! They arrived just in the neighborhood at Austria to run the Double Eagle Trophy and collect some more points for their Four Kingdoms Race series. (They managed to win the Double Eagle Trophy as of last night!)
  • Reborning Future's pregnancy is coming along nicely! We are looking forward to the birth of our newest little racer this Spring with great enthusiasm.
  • BRKs Deadly Nadder vom Vampir completed the Winter Wondersport CACIT with great success and earnt her IPO1 title and a CACIT title, congratulations to her and the LRK team!

With this, we successfully completed a full year here at Lovelyta, which means rollover time! All horses and dogs get to age up and compete some in preparation for their second time-based in-game year.

Thoroughbred news:

  • Compass Morale turned 2, and after some training she finally started her racing career. She ran 11 times and won 3 of them to start herself off splendidly.
  • LR Hell Hath no Furie turned 4 and raced 16 times, making us proud! She won 5 times out of her 9 starts on Maiden level, with one 3rd place along the way, then she proceeded to win 3 times out of 7 starts in Listed races with one 4th place. We are incredibly happy to see her run so well.
  • LR Thunderstorm turned 2 and started his racing career as well. Out of 7 starts he came home with a win, a 6th place and a lameness, so he didn't have a stellar start, but he recovered to be running some more.
  • NEC Big Brother turned 4, and ran 16 times, making us very happy with his first season in Lovelyta colors! He won 5 times out of 10 starts (and a couple more on the board) in Maiden, ranking up to Listed where he again kept to his ratio and won 3 times out of 6 starts.
  • Reborning Future is now 13, in good health, and awaiting her 3rd foal, this time by Suicidal Romance. We are expecting the foal for year 2 Spring.
  • Suicidal Romance is 7, and although he's nearing the age of his retirement and retraining, he's still a force to be reckoned with. He won 4 races out of 12 starts, but placed on the board 6 other times, which shows that even at this age he is nowhere near done with the track!
  • Egyptian Mau turned 2 and started her training and racing, but she didn't take too well to training and managed to injure herself on the railing of the racetrack (we are still not quite sure how she managed to do that). She was only able to run 3 times, but still won for us once.

Sport horse news:

  • Heart Throb turned 10 and had a great year with 18 dressage competitions, and with 5 wins and 3 2nd places ranked up to State dressage!
  • LR Against the Odds turned 12 and took part in only 5 dressage competitions, placing once as the winner and disqualified once due to the rider messing up the test.
  • LR Golden Sunshine turned 3 and her training continued with getting her familiar with the tack in order to give her solid bases for the future. She will be backed this year and walked around, but not much else will be done with her under saddle yet in order to let her develop properly.
  • LR Queen of Hearts turned 17, but she still managed to wow the jury and bring home the 1st prize 4 times out of her 9 competitions, placing 2nd another time. She did act up during one of the performances and bit a tongue at another, earning her two disqualifications, but it's nothing to discourage us from admiring this wonderful mare. With our new point system in place, Queen ranked up to National level!
  • IEC Wishing for Stars turned 12, taking part in 9 dressage competitions and bringing home the 1st prize 4 times, placing 2nd and 5th in other competitions, and being disqualified once due to lameness in the dressage ring. She did recover quickly from the injury and is eager to go now.
  • Our beloved LR Wish of Dreams is now 20 years old, the senior stud of our stables! He's still in good health and enjoys the light workload and the attention of mares during breeding season.
  • Cyclon turned 10 and came down lame during a training session. Luckily she recovered and was able to take part in 7 endurance competitions, winning 4 times, earning 2nd and 3rd once. With this performance, she ranked up to State endurance!
  • LR Cecissa turned 5 and managed to bite her tongue during training, earning her some off-time and light, hackamore riding. She still competed 5 times in dressage and came home with a win for Lovelyta!
  • LR Something Special turned 7 and suffered a minor training injury of cuts and bruises when he spooked during a session, but he still took part in 5 dressage competitions and placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd at least once! He's coming along nicely and we can expect him to shine when he gets over 10!
  • LR Starry Dreams is 3, and seems to be a troublemaker! She had a bit of an adventure away from home when she jumped the fence of her paddock, and must have stepped into something sharp, but it was thankfully nothing deep and she could proceed to get to know the tack instead.
  • Nanook turned 11 and came down lame after being kicked by another horse during training. He recovered and competed in endurance twice, but only came home with 4th and 5th places.

Lovelyta Ranch Kennel news

  • Celestial Event turned 2 and managed to get some bites when a more dominant dog decided her behaviour wasn't appropriate (it was not a dog in Lovelyta's ownership and was banned from the facility grounds). Luckily it was only shallow bites, and she knows better now. She had 4 obedience tests this year and scored above 60% in 3 of them.
  • BRKs Deadly Nadder vom Vampir, now 3, managed to pull a leg in the yard, earning some fawning over from her caretakers. She still managed to earn her BH exam on the second try, her IPO1 from the Winter Wondersport CACIT, and then attempted to earn her IPO2 through several tests this year. With some impressive scores, she's not that far from the goal!
  • Wild West vom Vampir turned 3, and set out to get his obedience titles as well. With impressive scores of above 70, 80 and even 90 percent, he soon will have his first title in the field!
  • Dusk Still Down is 4 years old and managed to get some kind of infection or virus that put him out of commission for a little while. With care he was quickly back to his regular self, taking several tests towards his obedience title.
  • Equipped Key to Your Heart vom Vampir turned 1, and despite her tender age she is quite the favourite at the kennels. She took part in several tracking exams with stellar scores and earnt her TD title, showing very much promise for her future!
  • Graveyard King vom Vampir also turned 1 and took tracking tests, but he didn't yet earn his title.
  • SK's Black Storm von der Berg, another member of our 1-year-old squad, took to tracking like an absolute pro and also earnt her TD title. She did have a run-in with an unfriendly hedgehog and had to learn the hard way that they hurt to pick up.

Injury stories this year

  • Kassendale's Regenbogen turned 7 and continued her cross country career as a stable favourite. She took part in 10 competitions, winning 3 of them and placing well in others, however, a horrible fall with Hope during a competition injured her pretty badly. It's still early to tell whether she will be able to return to her eventing and cross country, but she will be on rest at least until year 2 fall. Hope only earnt a few bruises in the fall.
  • Kassendale's Walpurgisnacht was showing off too much in his pasture and got his hoof stuck in the fence, injuring himself in his panic to get free. He will hopefully recover, but he will be on rest until year 2 fall as well. It seems to have been a rather unlucky year for the Kassendale horses.
  • LR Chrysanthemum turned 3, but her training was delayed by a horrible infection we are not sure where she got from. Weeks in quarantine and extensive vet care nursed her back to health, but she has a long way to go before she is fully back to normal and can belatedly start her training in year 2 fall.
  • LR Emergency Code, one of our local stars, is now 5 years old (how time flies!). His racing career was put on hold for this year as he tripped and fell during one of his training sessions, fracturing a leg. He should be able to recover with rest and we might see him back for a 6-year-old career, but it is still too early to tell. (Note: his Four Kingdoms performance is not affected as it still counts for his 4-year-old career)
  • Ninja's Rosenrot vom Werehaus turned 3, and gave us quite the scare when she managed to slash through her shoulder as she ran into a disposed window that was placed just wrong. She hopefully will recover from her adventure and we might see her do some light things around year 2 fall.
  • Black Diamond Indigo, now 4, did not have a good year at all. She dislocated her knee during her agility training, earning her a surgery and a long recovery. She might not be fit for active sports, so will be retired to be a breeding dog.
  • SK's Spotted Delight von der Berg, our 1-year-old hope for agility, suffered from knee joint injury (what's up with agility and knees this year?). Due to his young age he recovered, but will probably not be able to do extensive work, so his future turned from agility to show dog.

It was quite a year for Lovelyta, both in-game and in RNG. I'm happy with my new systems (both the timeline and the new point system) and I'm looking forward to the new year with the horses. We'll be having a foal! And, we might even have a litter from Diana, if I can find a fitting partner for her, so definitely keep an eye out. The only things I'm not happy with are the injuries RNG rolled, I did not want to retire 2 out of my 10 dogs, and my favourite horses were also seriously hurt (Codi, Rain and Night), so this will be a really tough few months without them. I wanted to compete all 3 of these horses, the Kassendale horses even at the HARPG Expo, but it's now out of the question. Codi missing a whole racing year doesn't make me happy at all, either, as I'm still thrilled about him winning the Double Eagle Trophy last night.

Let's hope we have a much better year 2, though!
