ROLEPLAY STARTS

YEAR 1 - 0 Moons AS
Lichenbreeze and Fleetclaw note the moon was not being covered during chaotic gatherings.
Newleaf; Cats begin to notice that despite the chaos at the Gatherings, StarClan had sent no indication of disapproval.
Greenleaf; Littlestar arrives, delivering news of a revised, reduced Warrior Code.
The New Code
The Haunting
The  divide between Good and Evil was shifted, a personal feud between  Rustytalon and Wrencry offering allegiances and intimidating others out  of either side. Cats affiliated with or against either side could be  found in their correct afterlife, further confounding the situation.
YEAR 2 - 12 Moons AS
For  the benefit of her relatives, Rustytalon begins imparting wisdom and  guidance upon Dewstar, ScrapClan's leader, aligning ScrapClan with  (evil) StarClan.
Leaf-fall: StarClan covered the moon at a Gathering because Dan stopped showing his beautiful underbelly.

YEAR 3 - 24 Moons AS
New-leaf:  Lichenbreeze, with her knowledge of the swap, approached Littlestar  about becoming DampClan's leader. They struck a deal that Lichenstar  would be granted nine lives if she took Bluestar's. Shimmerstar and  Twistedstar were also sent, and because of this, all three got away  alive, but Twistedstar was soon killed, Oakstar taking his place. It was  (evil) StarClan's goal to replace the leaders of FernClan, WildClan,  and FlareClan with ones they deemed more loyal to them.
The feud  between Rustytalon and Wrencry's families ended, but they continued to  influence who went to which afterlife. A number of ghosts were  influencing cats on the ground.
Green-leaf: FlareClan warriors began  questioning where Oakstar's loyalties were pointing, and FernClan was  weakened. Not a good time for the virtuous Dark Forest.
Leaf-fall: Magic was discovered, though this quickly fell into Lichenstar's paws. She was not able to hide it all, however...
Desperate,  Place of No Stars cats blinded Dovestar, in hopes they could speak to  him without him identifying them as non-StarClan.
ScrapClan,  BearClan, DampClan, and WildClan were allied with the false StarClan,  and the leaders of FernClan and FlareClan were told the truth, and held  on to it.

STARS OF NIGHTMARES
Story concepts by the admin team, written by quitefawnd, with additions and editing by Alopiidae

Decades  before the Clans settled the land, the territories were owned by a  large pack of canines. They had their own sort of hierarchy, and ran it  much like a Clan. However, after several years of living there,  mysterious things started to happen, such as ghostly apparitions of dogs  from years past. Terrified, the canines fled, abandoning the  territories they deemed evil.

Over time, cats started to  gravitate towards the land, drawn by the aura of mystery surrounding it.  As years past, seven groups of cats were eventually formed. The first  few seasons were rocky, but eventually, life became ritualistic and calm  enough to be prosperous. Curiosity eventually led them to send seven  cats, one from each group, up a mountain to the mysterious peak, fabled  to possess the power of the stars at midnight. The seven chosen cats met  a whole army of starry cats, who offered guidance and leadership to the  entire land. Intrigued, the groups collectively agreed, pledging  themselves to the clan lifestyle. Their views of life and death were  changed forever upon the discovery of long-past cats, and the new clans  were willing to live according to the Code in order to live on in  StarClan. The new-found Clans - BearClan, FernClan, DampClan, WildClan,  FlareClan, DesertClan and ScrapClan - quickly adapted to Warrior life.

Generations  after the original clan-dwellers lived, a particularly harsh leaf-bare  brought about the death of the BearClan leader, sending a young,  inexperienced deputy into the most influential clan's leadership  position. Unfortunately, this cat Littlestar had been in contact with  the cats of The Place of No Stars. These cats helped guide her when  StarClan was quiet, giving her an upper hand and helping popularize the  idea of the Place of No Stars as helpful. After the loss of her mate,  she was more and more often the source of trouble. As the weeks  progressed, the leaders became less and less confident in the stars.

With  StarClan quickly losing grasp and power on the Clans, the Dark Forest  cats formed a plan to overtake them, for they craved the rich, lush  territories of StarClan. A former ScrapCan-then-StarClan cat,  Rustytalon, had been chased out into the Dark Forest by another StarClan  cat, Wrencry (of WildClan), who knew of her evil deeds, done outside  the bounds of the territories. Rustytalon was irritated, and decided to  get her revenge by leading fellow cats of the Place of No Stars down her  retraced steps. They knew where to gather.

BearClan's leader  eventually made a deal with a rogue group who promised they could bring  food and herbs to the Clans from a territory a few days away in exchange  for a swath of territory. Not long after, Littlestar was banished from  the Clans for her actions. Upset and angry, the former leader moped  around the outskirts of the Clan territories. After a while, a plan for  revenge came to mind: Gathering the same rogue group, she promised that  there would be no failure. She would lead a group, and the rogues could  lead another. The two groups planned, and decided that a fateful night  with a full moon would be just perfect.

A few moons later, the  Clans gathered for the monthly Gathering, and by now were in a much  better state. The weather was warmer, and prey had started to flow like a  river. It seemed that all their problems were fixed. Halfway into the  Gathering, the Clans were attacked by Littlestar's group. In the fight,  the FernClan leader Mudstar, a well-liked leader, among several others,  were killed. Eventually overpowered, the group fled and disbanded, never  to be heard of again...

Mudstar awoke in StarClan, accepted in  their ranks as he was in life. Many cats, including his elders, grew to  respect him as a level-headed, kind, and reliable cat. Something about  his peaceful ways was calming, and had a charisma to it... but he never  forgave Littlestar.

Years later, Littlestar herself passed away.  Led to StarClan by the ones of the Dark Forest, Littlestar quickly  became an important cat. Eventually, she gained the rank of leader, and  took charge of StarClan. Slowly, cats started to single out one or two  StarClan cats, chasing them into the thick trees of the Dark Forest  where they were lost. After repeating this process long enough for  StarClan to be vulnerable, they struck, fighting for the territory they  lusted over. After a long, hard fight, StarClan, drained of power and  harboring wounds, was banished to the Place of No Stars… Rustytalon  continued to lead patrols into the Place of No Stars, ensuring all the  cats on her side were there.
In the Place of No Stars, Mudstar tries  to gather a force strong enough to take their deaths back. With  Hawkshade teaching them the ways of the dark forest, they seek to regain  the faith of the living...

Time went on without much of a word  from the ancestors. DampClan fell rather ill a few years ago, an illness  they called the Plague. All the cats had disappeared. Until recently.  The cats all seem... kind of off. Their bodies seem strange, and cats  found that resurfaced there seem to have no memories...
Another  incident that happened was the Great Burning of FlareClan; a devastating  fire which took place a couple of years ago. FlareClan cats had to  readjust to hunting in a burnt area. FernClan sheltered the cats for a  few weeks.
One year ago was the Nasty Drought, which would have wiped  out DesertClan, if not for the support of their neighboring clans and  BearClan. DesertClan still feels indebted...
BearClan underwent  several changes in leadership, and eventually got one with a full nine  lives, a mysterious yet righteous stranger, Dovestar. Despite all the  scrubbing the slate clean, relations with FernClan remain strained,  though few remember the fight.
FernClan itself has long moved past  Mudstar, who is still considered an influential leader. Secrets and  schemes brew within their borders...
WildClan fell into bad paws, and  while it has been improving, the takeover by Twistedstar is thought to  have been violent, and there is a roguish demeanor to many of the cats.  Twistedstar is working towards peace, but it may be too late.
Numerous  cats, mostly from ScrapClan and WildClan, have seemed to be wrapped up  in a personal feud all throughout this time. Despite the personal  nature, it has lasted many years, and has affected many inter-clan  relationships...

"So you noticed..." Three she-cats look to the full moon, shining as it has, every chaotic Gathering "The ancestors don't mind."

The  ancestors have been quiet, but they won’t be for long… As a whole,  "StarClan" re-wrote the warrior code, changing it to their own beliefs.  The Clans are about to live in a morally ambiguous state, grasped by  dark powers and unable to see the truth…
Well.
More morally ambiguous than they already are.
THE MYSTERY OF DAMPCLAN
Now, kits. Don’t go into that territory over  there… the last warriors who have gone have not come back.  Investigations into the clan’s status have resulted in missing patrols.  The last we have heard from the clan there was a highly contagious  disease they called the plague… and even recently, there are scent  trails that extend to the territory borders and those cats have not been  seen since. Never, under any circumstance, enter that territory…

PRE-RP START
In  another group of cats, which knew strange magics seemingly unrelated to  StarClan, a tom named Mycel was revived with a spell gone haywire. The  territory was cursed to keep everyone on it alive, presumably so long as  he was. This lasted many years, but the cats grew weary of being kept  alive on old bones, and decided it was time. Mycel fled his home and  found DampClan, joining.

40 moons PG, the plague hit DampClan. They  sent Stinkpot Stan after him, but Mycel hid. He hit Stan with a curse  to fall in love with a DampClanner, then cursed DampClan to contract a  deadly illness, hoping Stan would revive the one he was in love with. He  instead attempted to revive his daughter, but stopped himself, knowing  she wouldn't be the same.

Investigation ceased 3 years PG, and they were all assumed dead.
They were not, not exactly. Lizardkit was alive and  listening in on Gatherings to collect information, which she was  sharing with underground clanmates who, like her, did not remember who  they were. This lasted about two and a half years.

6 moons PG. Lichenpaw meets Lizardwatcher, a lone DampClan warrior.
5  moons PG. At the next gathering, Lizardwatcher made an appearance. She  announced that her clan was still alive and here. Everybody was quite  creeped out. Since then, Lizardwatcher was a part of daily life,  appearing in neutral territory, visible from the borders, asking for  visitors.
One evening, the BearClan deputy Dovedrop took a small  patrol to visit Lizardwatcher. They returned - the first known visit  that did not result in a disappearance.

Hornstab, in her surprise, mentioned something about unstarclanly forces to Lizardwatcher.
4 moons PG. Lichenpaw returned to the camp and agreed to help Lizardwatcher raise the clan, and followed her lead from Hornstab.

3 moons PG. Lichenpaw bargained with Hornstab, and learned of the cat Stinkpot Stan.
The next Gathering, 2 moons PG, the newly named Lichenbreeze faked sick... Missing her own warrior name announcement.
She went to find Stinkpot Stan, and learned to raise DampClan.
On using the magic, DampClan cats emerged,  including the leader Moiststar and medicine cat from before the plague,  Wispvision, followed by their clan-mates. Lizardwatcher was appointed  deputy for her contribution. The cats included some familiar faces, and  they got support from other cats, leaving their clans to join theirs.

POST-RP START
Year 1 - 0 Moons AS

New-Leaf:  Lichenbreeze begins to hang around DampClan trying to get an  understanding of the properties, worried her eye may be of issue.
Green-Leaf:  Lichenbreeze murders Crowpaw to test and see if that was what caused a  cat to 'turn' - it did. Crowpaw awoke with no memories.
Leaf-Bare: The Secret Society is started by Fleetclaw, employing cats of all clans in an attempt to find out what is happening in DampClan.
Feeling  pressure from Fleetclaw's efforts to find her out, Lichenbreeze  employed the help of SpiderMoth, effectively destroying his image in  order to make a non-suspicious get-away to find Stinkpot Stan. Stan did  not realize the spell had actually worked the way it did, and advised  they protect Lizardwatcher.
Secret Society investigators did their  best to uncover as much information as they could, leading them to seek  out Stinkpot Stan themselves. After they found the elusive loner, they  found out that he was on his way back to the clans anyway.

Year 2 - 12 Moons AS

Green-leaf: Murkywater died and regained all old memories in the afterlife.
Leaf-bare:  Lichenbreeze led DampClan during a war between the western clans and  the Walkers. DampClan was seen dragging foes into the swamp to kill them  and have them come back as clanmates.

Year 3 - 24 Moons AS
New-leaf:  Lichenbreeze approached Littlestar about becoming DampClan's leader.  StarClan told her that she should kill Bluestar. She was planning on  causing a leader to lose a life in the swamp to see if it 'turned' them.  On the day though, Shimmerstar and Twistedstar were also sent, and none  died that day, but later, Twistedstar did lose his last life.  Lichenstar got her nine lives as promised, and Shimmerstar broke  allegiances with WildClan, finding Oakstar's rise to power suspicious.
Lichenstar  increased fortification in the camp, and changed the border passage to  be limited to a corridor which she could better monitor.
Leaf-green: Fleetclaw relaunched the Secret Society (2), this time with less out-of-clanners and no DampClanners, the core consisting of FlareClanners.
Leaf-fall:  Anne pointed Longpaw, Reclusepaw, and the Society to a network of  tunnels containing cats that know magic, likely the source of DampClan's  curse. Lichenstar noticed Longpaw's absence, and soon had eyes on him,  collecting as much information about magic as possible. He was asked to  kill Mycel, as he was keeping the curse on their territory alive in the  same way Lizardwatcher was keeping DampClan's alive.
Fleetclaw got  Shimmerstar's permission to spend more time investigating, but  Lichenstar warned them to stay away. Instead, some BearClan Society  members, Birdglide and Mourningsky, went to start searching.
Lichenstar  investigated the tunnels herself, and ultimately gained all the spells.  Mycel was located, and kept alive for the time being.
