===KYOMEs===

===Basic Description===

It's said that Kyomes are the species that's the closest to Gods. They don't sleep, instead, they grant dreams to other humanoids. They are born when a person dreams for the first time. It determines what type of Kyome they will be and what kind of a dream will be their domain - a corrupted Kyome is born when the dream is a nightmare and they grant mostly nightmares, non-corrupted Kyome is born when it is a normal dream and so they usually grant the normal dreams. The first dream is decided by the "Dream Council" - a council of Kyome deities, which is also why they are considered the creators of all Kyomes.

The eyes on their face are always blind - they're called the false eyes. That's why most Kyomes hide them or keep them closed. Despite that, they have extraordinarily good eyesight, actually even better than most other species have! They can see through their "real" eyes that can be found elsewhere on their body. The placement doesn't matter. Usually, a Kyome has 1-5 real eyes. Kyomes have unique nervous system that can turn the image into a normal vision. This means Kyomes can always see what's happening in front of them, even if the eyes are located on their hands.

They are very proud of their tails. It's made of horse-like hair and it's is tied with a soul string - which connects them to their dreamer, so its color reflects the dreamer's soul. Kyomes don't ever cut their tail. The only instance in which you would see a Kyome with a cut tail, is if their dreamer has died. In that case, not only do they lose their tail, but the Kyomes also lose their reason to live very often, since they are no longer "required" by society and they lose their meaning.

It's incredibly rare, but half-corrupted Kyomes live in Gaidinia as well, even though they are sort of a mistake and shouldn't even exist. They control the powers of both corrupted and non-corrupted Kyomes.

===Detailed Lore===

===What are Kyomes?====

Kyomes are an original species of divine beings - guardians of one's sleep. They are born with one's first dream (which also influences whether they are corrupted or not). If the dream is a common dream, a non-corrupted Kyome is born. If the dream is a nightmare, a corrupted Kyome comes to life. Kyomes are the source of all dreams and have the power to make them either sweet and pleasant or truly horrific.

The Kyome's main job is to maintain and guard their dreamer's sleep. However, they do have a life outside their job as well. The life they lead can be surprisingly normal. They enjoy a wide array of hobbies, ranging from the most common ones to some really unusual things. Kyomes can get their unusual pets from the dreams! They're called "Sen" and "Mora" and you can read more about them here. They are capable of living a rich and fulfilling life like any other  species, the only difference being that the hours when a person is not  dreaming act as their free time.

===Where do Kyomes live?===

Kyomes spend most of their time in Gaidinia and their dreamer's world of dreams. Their home can be anywhere in Gaidinia, but most Kyomes prefer to live in the capital city, Aditone. There are no restrictions for where the Kyome can live, though!

===Kyomes and their Dreamers===

Kyome's sole purpose is to stay with their dreamer (the person who is granted the dreams by Kyome) and to guard their dreams for the rest of the dreamer's life. The bond shared between Kyome and their bonded person is very important, although it doesn't mean that the Kyome must like their dreamer! If something happened to their Kyome, the person would lose their ability to dream and it would eventually lead to a growing emptiness inside of them. They aren’t consciously aware that they lost someone, but deep down, they can feel it. It can result in long periods of profound sadness and depression that they can’t shake away nor explain. In some cases, though it’s not very common, they can even lose their mind. Since species outside Gaidinia don’t know about their Kyomes, it can seem like this came out of nowhere or had no palpable cause. Yet, this loss is even worse for Kyomes, who live for their dreamers, so to speak. The length of their life depends on the other and so after their person dies, they usually follow soon after. Of course, there is a possibility for the Kyome to stay alive - to cut their tail and continue living. It's very unusual, though.

===Kyome Biology===

The two most characteristic traits about Kyomes are their so-called real eyes and their tails. Their tails are horse-like tails, made of hair, not fur! They usually reach down their feet or even longer than that. Kyomes never cut (unless they lose their dreamer) or over-stylize their tails. Their tails symbolize their bond with their dreamer and the string they are wrapped with is always of the color of their dreamer's soul. Kyomes have blind "false eyes" appearing on their faces and "real eyes" - which are unique to the species. In regards to real eyes, those are "extra" eyes on Kyome's body that function normally like common eyes, they can blink and move around, however, Kyomes do not use any their eyes to see, their real eyes grant them something called "the vision" which is the way Kyomes see and perceive the world - in other words, even if all Kyome's false eyes and real-eyes are closed, they can still see, feel, and comprehend what is going on around them. Kyomes also always have feather-like ears and they usually cover their false eyes (because, as mentioned, the eyes are not functional). It is a habit that is either preferred or not. Some Kyomes cover their eyes with blindfolds or hair while others don't.

Kyomes can also have little charms (symbols) hanging down their ears. They are usually simple little symbols such as hearts, stars, dots, tears, or other geometric shapes. Rarely, they can have eye-shaped symbols hanging down from their ears. These aren't earrings, they're a part of the Kyome's ear and cannot be removed. Kyomes can have earrings and other piercings, though!

Kyomes have special rare traits that occur, and they can be also born with various mutations.

===Kyome History and Culture===

One of the Kyome deities is Vestea. The deities live in Sidrag, although The Dream Council usually meets in Aditone. The city is very important part of the species' history. It's also called "City of Gods", and it was the place where Gaidinia gods used to live. You can read more about Aditone here.

The Dream Council -
There is a special type of Kyomes, referred to as "first Kyomes" - they function as parent Kyomes to other Kyomes. Kyomes do not have biological families as they are born differently and so it's biologically impossible to have a family by blood, however, the first Kyome are considered the "elders" - the wise ones, the ones who other Kyomes come to for advice and where they seek help. The elders are also responsible for helping Kyomes to be born - to come to life from the first dream of their dreamer. They make sure everything goes smoothly and without complications. They are also there to show Kyomes how to create and manage dreams - they teach individual Kyomes how to take care of their dreamer's sleep and psyche. Elders are the ones who cause the first dream to even happen, they are the first force of power helping a Kyome to come to life.
The Dream Council is made of the Kyome deities and the first Kyomes.

Kyomes believe in all of their deities (but also other Gaidinian deities!) and they obey and praise them - commonly Kyomes are in an inner circle of a particular deity.

===Interesting Facts===

- It’s not unheard of for Kyomes to form clubs based on what their humans are like. They like to meet other Kyomes whose human is similar to their own and discuss their similarities or give each other tips on what kind of dream their human might enjoy next.
- They do not sleep. At all. However, they can faint - they will not dream, however, and during this period their dreamer (if sleeping) will be dream-less.
- They can eat and drink.
- Kyome's real eyes can be anywhere on the body except on their actual eyes
- Both corrupted and non-corrupted Kyomes can grant both good and bad dreams! Corrupted Kyomes simply grant mostly nightmares, while non-corrupted Kyomes grant mostly normal dreams. Half-corrupted Kyomes are simply an anomaly - a very rare one.
- Every time a Kyome's dreamer sees their Kyome, the Kyome gets weaker (this can potentially kill the Kyome).
- Kyome's real-eyes color and the color of their string (dreamer's soul color) don't need to match. However, they commonly do.
- Kyome's real-eyes can blink and move, they also can have lashes, but it is not necessary.
- No matter how many tails a Kyome has, they will always have only one dreamer.
- Kyomes cry from their false eyes.
- Kyomes are already born as adults, there is no infant or child period of their life. They also age differently than humans. Their body remains the same during their whole life but they do age mentally.
- Kyome's dreamer can be any humanoid species, not only other Gaidinian species and humans.
