Ambinetic Anatomy

At their core, Ambinetics follow basic human anatomy. They have two arms, two legs, five fingers and five toes, all of which follow the human form. They even have belly buttons, nipples, and fingernails - however there are plenty of things that differentiate Ambis from the typical human form as well.

Ambinetics do not have noses, eyes, or ears. For the most part, the anatomy of the human face does not apply to an Ambinetic. Instead, they are all fitted with screens and helmet pieces where the face would be. However, they can be fitted with varying mouth types for cosmetic and expressive purposes.

Mandatory Traits

Helmet

There are several parts to an Ambinetic that are mandatory to have.

Starting with the head we have the helmet unit. This metal helmet-like structure covers the entirety of where a human face would be found and includes the jawline, going straight up where the ears would start. Some Ambinetics have helmets that extend past the headband and cover the entirety of the scalp. The shape of the helmet varies depending on the traits used.

On the front facing part of the helmet is where you will find your Ambinetic's screen. The type of screen may vary based on traits, as seen in the Trait Page, but they always have one.

As stated in the "Ambis Don't" section Ambinetics do not have broken or missing parts. This means no shattered screens or images being displayed on their screen to give the appearance of cracks.

Lastly, helmet color cannot be the same color as the skin tone. While they can be close, they still have to be visibly distinguishable as different colors from one another and is decided upon by the discretion of the approving admin.

Helmets, not including the headphones, typically have a maximum of two colors. To learn how to get additional colors see the “Helmets” section on the Trait Page.

Headset

In place of ears one will find a set of headphones that wrap over the top of the helmet and divide where the helmet ends and the fleshy scalp begins. Some Ambinetics have helmets that extend past the headband and cover the entirety of the scalp. The shape of the helmet varies depending on the traits used.

On the part of the headphones that take up space where ears would normally be you will find another very important mandatory trait. The helmet's wings!
These wings can either be on the outer side of the ear piece or come out of the inner side as seen in the image above!

The shape and style of the headphones can vary but they must clearly be headphones! Keep in mind as well that hair CANNOT be under the ear pieces of the headphones because they connect directly to the helmet!

Like the screen the wings on an Ambis headset can vary based on traits, as seen in the Trait Page, but they always have them.

Standard headset wings can't be larger than one foot in length outstretched and cannot be shorter than six inches. Other sizing options can be found on the Trait Page.

Collars / Gorgets

The next mandatory trait on your Ambi is their collar. This piece may seem like a simple apparel item or accessory but it’s essential to your Ambis design!

Their coding demands this feature so they can communicate, be identified, be tracked, or be forced to shut down in case of emergencies!

Collars are simple band-like chokers that are made of metal and can appear shiny or matte. The collar can vary in how it looks but regardless of style the collar will connect to a system at the back of their neck that links up with their spine. This means removing an Ambis collar would not be a simple task like removing a necklace and doing so is prohibited by Techwave Initiative.

Accessories like spikes, tags, and more can be added to them, however, keep in mind that access to these add-ons vary based on rarity. Additionally collars cannot have hole punches in them, or large collar extensions attached.

Gorgets are a type of collar that have a unique shaping to them, allowing them to be larger than typical collars. Though their shape and sizing are different they still follow the same rules as typical collars as far as how they function.

More about the spine will be discussed in the section below "Spine - Wings and Tail Traits"

Ankle Wings

The last mandatory trait is the wings found on an Ambis ankles!

Though it may sometimes be hidden due to the size and material of the ankle wings there is always a connector piece that attaches the base of the wing into the ankle of the Ambi. These are typically circular in shape and can vary slightly in size.

Using Admin Magnetic / Floating material you can have the wing portions of the ankle wings float a little ways from the ankle but the small disc connection plate is still required directly on the ankle! In this case it creates the magnetic field! Please keep trait rarity in mind when it comes to material!

Once again these wings on an Ambis ankles can vary based on traits, as seen in the Trait Page, but they always have them.

Standard ankle wings can't be larger than one foot in length outstretched and cannot be shorter than six inches.Other sizing options can be found on the Trait Page.

Spine - Wings and Tail Traits

As mentioned in the section about collars, Ambinetics have a unique spinal system that not only passes information through the body but supports numerous ports for wing and tail attachments.

The spine itself can either show above the skin or be hidden beneath it. Being hidden under the skin is considered more expensive, however the section that connects the spine to the collar cannot be hidden, even if the rest of the spine is. This piece has ports that allow Ambis to plug into various devices as well as aid in their maintenance. You can see this piece depicted in the "Collar" sub-section of "Mandatory Traits" above!

Further down the spine, you will find various circular ports. These ports are where wings can be installed. If your Ambi has no wings and a hidden spine, then these ports do not need to be showing on their backs.

An Ambi's wings can vary in articulation. Wings made of solid materials such as solid resin, rubber, or metal cannot fold or bend and can only articulate slightly at the connection port. On the other hand, wings made of materials such as feathers, textiles, and tech can have mechanical structures within that allow for a greater range of motion. It is important to remember that wings are purely cosmetic. Even with wings, Ambinetics cannot fly, no matter how large their wings are, or how many they may have.

Beneath the wing ports at the base of the spine is where tail attachments are installed. They function just like the wing ports and can be hidden if the Ambi both lacks a tail and possesses a hidden spine. It is important to note that tails have length limitations: the maximum length for a tail cannot exceed the height of the body, and the minimum length cannot be under six inches (think small, fluffy deer or bunny tails!)

Ambinetic Mouths

Typically Ambinetic’s only have a screen on their ‘face’. However, Mouths were a later development by Techwave Initiative as an option for Ambinetics. They come in three types - Humanoid, Monster, and Insectoid. These mouths were designed to be cosmetic, as they are not used by Ambinetics to feed themselves. However, they do allow for a larger range of expression and customization for those looking for their very own Ambinetic. Though keep in mind, whether they have a mouth or not, they always have a screen on their face!

Due to their utility tongues are a highlighted feature as part of an Ambinetic’s mouth. Ambinetic’s with tongues are ideal in culinary settings as they have receptors that allow them to analyze tastes and ingredients. Should it be a concern you have, your Ambi would also be able to test food and drinks for hidden poisons. With that in mind, even if taste testing, they are not capable of ingesting anything as they do not possess a functioning human digestive system. Additionally Ambinetic mouths do not produce saliva or other fluids. Humanoid Mouths require a tongue but Monster Mouths and Insectoid Mouths do not.

Due to the material of Ambinetic helmets; lip piercings, such as lip rings, are not available. However, you can use the Legendary helmet Accessories traits to add studs / inlaid gems that mimic piercings.

With the ability to have mouths comes the ability to have teeth as well. Like the rest of the materials used in the creation of Ambinetics their teeth are extremely durable as well as customizable whilst appearing to be made of a material that mimics the look of human teeth. Though they do not need teeth to aid in chewing food, should it be deemed necessary an Ambinetic with teeth could crush / break most objects that could fit in its mouth. That being said, the purpose of teeth, like mouths as a whole, is mainly for cosmetic purposes. Humanoid Mouths require teeth but Monster Mouths and Insectoid Mouths do not. Within teeth rarities crooked teeth, tooth gaps, and braces are permitted. However, broken teeth and grills are not permitted

Humanoid mouths mimic the human form. Lips can vary in size and shape so long as it resembles that of a human. These mouths are made with a unique hybrid metal material developed by TI that allows for movement and expression of the mouth that greatly resembles that of a human.

Monster mouths mimic a monstrous form. The mouth can be shaped entirely to be like that of a vicious monster or include some semblance of humanoid lips as part of the design. Monster mouths have a harder time mimicking human expressions and can oftentimes be entirely rigid in nature. The “teeth-like” shapes found on monster and insectoid mouths are molded from the helmet and are not their own segment pieces.

Insectoid mouths bear resemblance to some insectoid forms. These mouths open horizontally rather than vertically like Humanoid and Monster mouths do. However, some can have a third section at the chin that opens downwards. These mouths are typically rigid and shaped in ways that do not allow for expressions that mimic that of a human. Shapes that mimic insect maxilla, labium, or other such protruding shapes like that of graspers and pincers are not included as part of this mouth type but can be included by using the “Admin Shaped Tusks” Add On trait. The “teeth-like” shapes found on monster and insectoid mouths are molded from the helmet and are not their own segment pieces.
