Medicine

Medicine
In the world of LanternClan, there is two types of knowledge of Medicine. The first one is basic, and the second one being advanced. All cats, no matter their background, is taught basic medicine as part of their apprenticeship. However, Medicine Cat Apprentices and Medicine Cats are more advanced on the subject than most. The reason for learning about basic medicine as a way to graduate is so that no matter where you are, that if you get injured, then you or someone near you may help treat your injuries from becoming infected.

NOTE :: Make sure you realize that all of this is in a fictional setting! Please DO NOT give these herbs to your cats, as some herbs, like the Civet Bud being Onions are EXTREMELY TOXIC to IRL cats! If your cat has any problems please take it to a veterinarian! Likewise, for you humans out there, please do not use these herbs either! Unless you know what you're doing you MUST go to a doctor for serious conditions or issues!

Basic Medicines
Bamboo - Used as a brace for broken legs to get better, usually tied around the wound. Bamboo is extremely sturdy and strong.

Silvervine - An addictive feel-good herb used for releasing stress. It is much like Catnip.
Horsetail - Used to treat infections by being chewed up into a poultice and wrapped around a wound.
Tea Leaf - A small, leaf plant, used to create a Tea by using the steamy water of Healing Waters in The Cats Of Morning Rocks. It is said to rejuvenate a cat's energy.
Bamboo Shavings - By scratching the wood of Bamboo the shavings can be used to treat Green Coughs and insomnia if consumed.
Clove - A bud-like flower used to help with toothaches and other pains.
Cicada Shells - The dry shells of Cicadas are harvested and used to help with throat swelling and itchy skin, is consumed.

Advanced Medicines
Radiant Blossom - A blossom used to help glowless cats reveal their Hidden Pelt. It is only used by Medicine Cats from The Cats Of Ancient Root.
Honeysuckle - Used to treat cough infections, like those of the like of Green Cough. In The Cats Of Morning Rocks, it is mixed with the steaming water of Healing Waters for ’extra properties’.

Civet Buds - Used extremely carefully. They smell so bad that Medicine Cats eyes water when getting the cloves. Used to help harsher cough infections, though, too much can be fatal to a cat. They also attract Civets as well and they forget everything they are doing and act strangely to the Civet Buds.
Mugwort - Used on cats as a sedative, it also is used to help get rid of parasites and help with hysteria and in cats.
Oyster Shells - Do to having to travel long ways out of LanternClans territory, Oyster Shells are rare. The shells are crushed with a rock to become a "powder" substance to help with weak bones. Usually, it's used for Royal Pelt elders.
Tiger Lily Bulbs - Used for chest pains and to treat the pains of a faltering heart, is usually dug from the ground and consumed.

Mutations
There are several mutations in the world of LanternClan, over the course of several years, the clan has seen some strange and unusual Hidden Pelts. Some Hidden Pelts are associated with good luck while others suggest that they may be bad omens sent to them by SpiritClan. Either way, mutations can be a struggle for cats to fit in the clan, sometimes, it can be difficult for a Messenger to even rank them!

Eye Hidden Pelt - A strange and bizarre mutation where the Hidden Pelt is only in the eyes. This means a cat is not born with a Hidden Pelt anywhere on their actual pelt. This mutation is seen as a curse from DimClan and a bad omen from SpiritClan.
Color Shifting/Changing Hidden Pelt - Sometimes called a 'Chameleon Mutation' this mutation appears very rarely in kits, this mutation shifts through what appears to be the entire rainbow. Becoming one hue to another over the course of a couple of minutes! This mutation is seen as a unique sign from SpiritClan and represents good luck or a prophetic cat.
Color Gradients Hidden Pelt - Some cats are born with a hidden pelt that will fade from one color on one side of their body to another color on the opposite side of their body! Though, this pelt shouldn't be mistaken for the Chimera Hidden Pelt, because instead of the coloring being different from left to right, the pattern in a Color Gradient HP goes front to back, or up and down.
Chimera Hidden Pelt - The Chimera Hidden Pelt, similar to the Color Gradient Hidden Pelt is a pelt in which a cat is born with two colored hidden pelts on the right side of their body to the left side of their body. These hidden pelts don't exactly fade into each other either like the Color Gradient Mutation does, instead, the colors sharply cut off from one side of the body to the other. This mutation is the most common than other mutations.
Reverse Hidden Pelt - Sometimes, a cat will be born with a HP that may seem strange or even odd, Reverse Hidden Pelts fit in that category. These Hidden Pelts make up a lot of the cats' pelt, similar to what you would see in melanism. There tends to be too much hidden pelt to the point that it may not be an identifiable to see a pattern on it, other times though, this may mean that cats can be born with King Cheetah-like or Cross Fox-like patterns.
