TAOZEN - Expanded View
Taozen, originally thought to be the homeworld for a species known as the Eelum, has recently been expanded to showcase other species: Voiyagers, Sijinn and Faunacus. Below will explain how the species interact and their general locations in the world of Taozen. Please note that Taozen is a planet these species live on. Below is added lore to the species to help tie them all together, left somewhat open ended to allow you to make the decision of how your character fits into this additional lore. Please note that this lore is OPTIONAL - should you choose to keep your species separate then that is perfectly okay!
Voiyagers - Beauty Among the Stars - [[ TH World ]]
Voiyagers are space dwelling individuals that live among the stars and universe. They are extraterrestrials that live in sectors and occasionally make it to the planet side. They are powerful beings created from stardust and are not to be provoked. Some consider them to be the intergalactic peace keepers while others fear them. Voiyagers have the ability to survive in various conditions and if they end up never setting foot on Taozen they may have journeyed to another planet instead. Upon their visits to Taozen the Voiyagers are generally greeted with mixed reactions. Some admire their beauty, finding them to be god-like while others fear them for their differences and extraterrestrial nature. It is not uncommon for a Voiyager to be worshiped like a god in Taozen and there have been cults or temples created over the centuries to worship certain Vesper. Some Eelum learn celestial magic from Voiyagers and it is not unheard of for a Sijinn to find a sparring partner in a Voiyager either. Faunacus generally are indifferent towards Voiyagers and do not hold any malice towards them. They are outsiders just like them after all.
Sijinn - Artisan Crafted Warriors - [[ TH World ]]
Sijinn are warriors summoned through magical means. They are brave fighters from all walks of life. The hub for Sijinn on Taozen is a grand city called Valhalla. Valhalla holds everything needed to craft and summon a Sijinn however it has a age-old caste system. Those who lack the resources to craft a Sijinn often find themselves watching from afar. Sijinn generally are not summoned by the other main species of Taozen as it is usually outsiders that summon them. However, it has happened. Faunacus tend to loathe the Sijinn as they are extremely human-like in appearance and it is commonly humans that summon them. Sijinn themselves see the Voiyagers as potential sparring partners and admire their strength. Eelum and Sijinn tend to get along but have a long-lasting rivalry due to both species being bound by summoning contracts. As a result you will be pressed to find Eelum and Sijinn exchanging knowledge or tricks of the trade. Some say it is a delicate peace between the two species that can be disrupted at any time. Valhalla is located a great distance from any known established Eelum town, city or village.
Faunacus - The Outsiders from Sersi - [[ TH World ]]
The original Faunacus came from a realm parallel to Taozen. They kept to the shadows and tried to establish life in their new home however due to humans being on Taozen from their interactions with Sijinn and Eelum that peaceful life they strove to achieve was quickly snatched away from them. Sijinn were used to hunt down the original Faunacus and used to help shackle them for experimentation. As a result Faunacus have a deeply rooted hatred for Sijinn. Many Eelum refused their contracts during the first initial contact with the Faunacus, refusing to be a part of the mass gathering of this new species. They felt the need to protect them and welcome them to Taozen instead of trying to control them. Faunacus are more willing to be around Eelum however some hold a grudge against them due to the few that participated in the collection. Voiyagers were unaware of the Faunacus and their first arrival from the Sersi realm. When Voiyagers traveled to Taozen and found a new species they were delighted to learn what they could from them only to find that the Faunacus were captured and experimented on. A group of Voiyagers along with some Eelum were able to assist in giving the Faunacus the strength needed to find freedom. This allowed the Faunacus to establish the Fernweh circus deep within the forests of Taozen, far enough away from humans but still close enough to have their revenge.
Eelum - The Natives of Taozen - [[ TH World ]]
Without a doubt Taozen has always been known for the Eelum. They were the first known species of Taozen and have control over the largest part of the planet. However, despite their superiority in terms of territory and resources, they often share their lands with the other species. Out of the four species the Eelum are the most welcoming and understanding of them all. They admire the Voiyagers for their celestial magic yet fear them for the power they hold. The have an uneasy friendship with Sijinn due to what their contracts have done to species like the Faunacus as Sijinn do not refuse summoning contracts like the Eelum do. They at times feel Sijinn follow their master's orders blindly, and even if they question it, they do not go against their master's word. For the Faunacus, the Eelum feel terrible for what had happened to the original ones from Sersi. They feel partially to blame for not doing anything to stop the situation sooner. This is why they have given up so much of their forest land to the Faunacus so they may establish life away from the prying nature of others. Overall though Eelum tend to interact with all the species without much repercussions.
