Information
Fantochi is classified into 3 main types: [A]ngel, [B]east and [C]haos based on how they were made and material used.
Type [A]ngel: Made by the purest and most delicate materials. This makes them the most stable out of all types, both mentally and physically. They are more likely to break when using/encountering a strong magic current, hence why fighting is not their best ability.
Type [B]east: Born with great battle potential. Their ingredients consist of magic-imbued and sturdier material, making them almost immune to the corrosion of magic current running through their body. Consequently, they are more unstable – most noticeable when in a prolonged battle.
Type [C]haos: Considered a ‘taboo’, completely goes against alchemy and the world natural rule. They require more than a type of core gems, and are made mainly from ‘flesh’ and unholy elements. Born with power that is terrifying yet suicidal, their mind struggles with identity of "past self" and "current self".
Appearance
Almost human in appearance; with the exception of their horns/core gem. The closer a fantochi’s structure is to a human, the more stable magic circulation is and the better chance at successfully creating one.
Core gem
A fantochi’s defining ingredient; harvested and hand-carved with the most delicate touch. Works as a battery and a mean to transfer magic energy from the outer world to their body.
The core is shaped in a way that is both presentable and large enough to ensure the continuous circulation of magic, hence the ‘horns’. It can take shape in various ways depends on the creator and original shape.
TYPE A & B
TYPE C
Type C’s appearance is quite different compared to A and B due to their unusual materials. Their sclera turns black, they gain demon-like hands and feet and they have multi core gems with cracks all over the body, revealing the inner structure.
More info & facts
- Each fantochi has its own unique personality and the ability to think and act just like human.
- They generally have a longer lifespan, living as long as their core gem is still functioning but can choose to ‘shut down’ / enter a state of hibernation.
- While making modifications to their body is possible, Fantochi tends to stick to their original design as it is the one that suits them/making them most stable.
- While type A & B’s soul is new and fresh the moment they come to life, type C’s mind has to bear more pressure as it conflicts with the ‘original soul’ of the flesh used, or whatever material that used to have a mind of its own, thus they’re really unstable. Basically what makes a type C is the use of a material once belonged to a living.
- Type C’s cracked appearance is because they’re made mostly from flesh, naturally not a suitable material for doll. While a special method is used to preserve their body, sometimes it still crumbles apart.
- The demonization process and black sclera are punishment from god, and a gift from hell for bringing the dead back to the overworld and denying the natural rule of gods.
- They can use magic! Works similar to their battle ability.
