This page is dedicated to detailed explanations of each trait along with some additional information on various nonvisible aspects of the species. Note that plenty of these have parts that are up to personal interpretation and are not required to be followed to a tee!

CREATION CONCEPT
A Comfy's Creation Concept is defined as their "spawning quote from the core of their creation". A.K.A. their core belief or purpose that their entire existence is based upon! In simpler terms: It's a quote that represents them!

In a more general sense, a Creation Concept is the core of a Comfys character. It can be their stated ideal, a belief they wholeheartedly follow, or just something to base their themes and aesthetics on. Often times they will reflect the wish they manifested from, or the type of attitude and personality that would help someone with their specific dilemma. A Comfy doesn't have to be entirely defined by their creation concept at all, but it is from this aspiration, passion, or wish that they are born! So naturally, their personality, abilities, and form will often relate to this core concept in some way, even if just vaguely. There are no specific guidelines for a creation concept, and while they are considered a core aspect of this species, writing one is still entirely optional!

Examples of what Creation concepts can be:
"Today I will make someone smile!" --- The concept reflects more of a general personality or outlook on life that can be vague or mundane in nature. It can be as direct as just something they would say in general.

"I will be the candlelight that guides those lost in the dark" --- This concept is based on much more particular ideals or themes that pertain to unique contexts. For this example, the Comfy may be a forest sprite with a lantern to guide those who are lost.

"A journey is never complete without a few stops" --- Concepts can be entirely metaphor or an idiom! They can be entirely symbolic in nature so long as its meaning still contributes to a Comfy's overall goals and ideals.

PERSONALITY
Comfys are varied, unique, and express themselves in all sorts of ways, just like people! However, they are mostly based on a specific type of comfort. Personally I enjoy describing them in terms of metaphor, but it can also be simple and to the point as well! There are no strict qualifications for a Comfy’s personality, the only thing that matters is that they are able to make someone happy in any kind of way, in their own way!

If you’d like some general examples, here are a few personality groups!

ACTIVE
Active Comfys are ones that take initiative in trying to motivate or energize! They make active choices and take action frequently on their own in the hopes of inspiring action in others. Typically they have high energy, partake in a proactive hobby, and do whatever they can to push you forwards. They happily chat about your interests, cheer you up when you're down, and always encourage you to take those steps towards where you wanna be! Best compared to an enthusiastic best friend~

PASSIVE
Passive Comfys are more focused on care and recuperation. They’re loving, gentle, and sweet, and they understand that sometimes life is just, difficult. They focus more on making their partner comfortable and at ease, making sure to help them relax and slowly recover from either stress or anything else that’s upsetting. Often nurturing or calming, and understand the importance of patience. It's ok to slow down and take some time just for yourself~

WARRIOR
Warrior Comfys are defined by their courage and righteous nature to protect and defend. Whether it be from nightmares, negative thoughts, or even evil forces! They seek to defend you to the best of their abilities and keep you safe and sound from all that seek to drag you down. Through their actions they hope to not only protect, but also inspire you to gain the necessary courage and strength to protect yourself. They're your partner through and through, and are prepared to face your hardships right alongside you~

MENTOR
Mentor Comfys are somewhat aloof and at times distant, but are incredibly wise from their travels and learned experiences. Their comfort stems from their extensive knowledge and skills, as well as the willing patience to accompany you as you learn and grow. They quell concerns with reason and reassure you with wisdom, acting as both teacher and friend along the rocky journey that is life. They understand that there's so much to learn in life, and that just because you feel afraid and clueless now does not mean you always will be~

Do keep in mind that all of those are simply guides, and not definitive categories or classifications! Feel free to mix, match, and make up whatever you'd like! Just as long as they seek to make their partner’s life better and/or happier in some way!

SIZE
On average, a Comfy is very small. Standing at about 3-5 inches in height, at least in our world. It’s possible that they can range in height depending on whatever you find cute, but just remember that they can totally stand on the palm of your hand! This trait isn't very important, but this is just so you know.

Some Comfys can actually project themselves as larger in size! Such as Comfys who can transform into plushies, Comfys who act as overseeing guardians, or Comfys with special celestial blessings. There’s a lot of possibilities! Though within their home pocket dimension, they are overall around the same size, with the odd outlier every now and again. You're free to still describe their heights in usual human measurements when in comparison with eachother!

CORES
The Core is what keeps a Comfy alive and well! All Comfys are born through the formation of their cores originating from the Flame of Passionwhich is what gives each core its glow and warmth. Cores are fueled by goodwill, love, and affection, as well as the Comfy’s own spirit, all of which contribute to strengthening a Comfy's ability to fend off negative and malicious influences seeking to snuff out their light. The core is typically located within their heads. Cores are sensitive and directly tied to the Comfy, as any change that occurs to a Comfy's core will likely impact their entire body and existance, making protecting it very important. It typically can’t be removed from its place, and forcefully trying to do so will destroy or corrupt the Comfy. Their bodies are unable to maintain their forms without a core, and will deteriorate rapidly in the event it's ever removed. Those that can remove or have their cores outside of their bodies safely typically are blessed with particularly strong cores that possess corruption warding properties; a gift granted by celestials like the All Mother.

Cores are most commonly a small flame, representative of their origin, but the sparks that ignite their cores can also end up embedded into other objects and take on different forms! Cores can be any color, and don’t have to reflect the Comfys general palette at all. Think of it like their soul! Cores must give off some degree of light and warmth. They can be blindingly bright or barely glowing, blazing hot to the touch or only faintly lukewarm, however brighter and warmer cores are commonly associated with good health, happiness, and strength. 

While cores can’t be extinguished by normal means, it can be damaged by emotional abuse and neglect. If a Comfy is physically hurt, the strength of their core determines how fast they can recover. Damaged cores are visibly less bright and/or diminished, and it may cause small changes to the Comfy’s appearance (Ex: Cracks on mask, faded colors). If a Comfy’s light ever goes out, they will cease to exist! For partnered Comfys, their cores may weaken if their partner is in immense distress and they are continuously unable to help them. When this happens, there’s a chance that the Comfy becomes Corrupted instead.

A Comfy is able to willingly enter a state of dormancy if the circumstances ever call for it. They will withdraw into their cores, leaving them incredibly vulnerable, and will remain in deep sleep within the safety of The Sanctuary until the time comes where they are summoned once again. They will always be ready to reappear once more when the world needs them!

MASKS
All Comfys wear masks, as they are their main source of protection for their cores, and they tend to have simplistic faces carved into them. This expression usually represents the Comfy’s default state or base personality, though not always. Some Comfys actually like to keep items behind their masks and within their heads as a convenient storage space, however they don't enjoy removing their masks often due to them being a source of comfort and stability alongside simply being protection. Masks cannot be removed by anyone but the Comfy themself, so trying to remove one's mask forcefully will likely damage it and hurt them, or worse...  

If a mask ever gets damaged, a Comfy will attempt to repair it themself. With a strong enough core, the mask will naturally heal over time. Otherwise, it will remain in the same state until the Comfy is able to gather enough power to fix it. Comfys that lose or break their masks risk becoming corrupted or being targeted from having an exposed core, so please be careful! Masks can be remade as long as their cores remain strong, but the process can be made easier with the help of a Mask Smith; a specialized Comfy who is skilled in repairs and adjustments for masks.
Note that some Comfys have naturally broken masks, this does not affect them negativelyNatural Damage is a trait that is akin to birthmarks for a Comfy, and will not have any averse effects or expose their core in any way by itself.

Be aware that any amount of core exposure will increase their risk of attracting the attention of monsters that lurk in the shadows! So please handle them with care! This is the reason why masks that reveal or expose parts of a Comfy's core are so rare, because it’s actually dangerous! Without a special blessing, an exposed core attracts malicious beings hoping to take it for themselves… The Veil of the Cosmos is the universal blessing that all Comfy masks are enchanted with when they're spawned in order to hide their presence and protect themselves. Any mask that fails to completely hide a Comfy's core is considered Incomplete.

Mask material is not a necessary trait, and you can ignore it if you find it too complicated! A simple, colored mask is all you need. The only requirements for a common mask is that they are solid and capable of cracking!

BODY
The Comfy’s main body is typically a human/humanoid, but as long as it has average humanoid limb proportions and remains bipedal just about anything goes! They can be anthro or even lean more furry, just not fully feral! 

A Comfy's body is a physical manifestation of the will their Cores carry, so they rely on the strength of a Comfy's core to maintain their form at all.
You have free reign to make a Comfy’s body have whatever other kind of trait you want as long as it does not affect the proportions/anatomy! Any body type, Glass limbs, stitches, cybernetics, a giant hole through their chest, etc. etc. are all perfectly fine! Aside from having floating limbs (Rare) or parts of their body made up of pure light (Celestial), anything goes!

Bodies composed of entirely inorganic materials tend to be more rare within Comfy society due to the nature of their creation stemming from the blessings of life! However this does not mean they can't be of said materials or cater to beings of a similar nature~

The following are all optional traits that all Comfys are able to have, but do not need.

WINGS
Comfy wings are normally not attached to the body! They float closely around their backs and can usually be summoned and dismissed at will. Not all Comfys with wings can fly, and not all Comfys without them can't. It's more often than not an aesthetic trait.
When in dimensions outside of their own, all Comfys gain the ability to float or hover slightly in order to assist them in navigating worlds different from The Astral Pocket. Within their pocket dimension however, they tend to be more grounded, literally, in their reality if they are unable to fly.

HALOS
Halos are a pretty common phenomena for Comfys, and they are generated by the magic of their cores. It’s a manifestation of a blessing passed down from the All Mother, who was said to have two! A large one with a wide orbit that symbolizes the celestial being’s worldly experience, power, and reach, and a smaller one that symbolizes their values of protecting the things close to your heart.
A Comfy's Halo can quite literally look like anything so long as it remains close to or orbits their head! They may have multiple halos so long as they collectively possess one thematic aesthetic~ 

A halo can be generated at any time if a Comfy so chooses. It's a common sign of respect or trust in Comfy society to demonstrate the color of your core’s glow through your halo, whether it be summoning a temporary halo in its color, or making their existing halo shimmer with the same hue!

ABILITIES & MAGIC
Some Comfys are blessed, gifted, or spawned with special powers that assist them in their goals of helping people. This magic, like most innate things, also stems from their cores! The abilities can be something small like creating soothing sweet scents, summoning soft clouds for comfort, singing enchanted songs that help with sleep, or creating cooling auras that calm anxieties. Or, on the larger scale, they can be powers such as transforming into a plush someone can hug, manifesting as a larger guardian angel to defend others, or being able to possess objects! Etc.

Comfys don’t actually need Magic to do a lot of these things! They can scavenge, craft, and find other ways to get any items they think will be of use to their partner and achieve similar effects. Their home pocket dimension is an expansive and fantastical world with its own landscapes, markets, society, that is sure to supply them with whatever they need!

If you make a Comfy that does have an ability, just remember that the ultimate goal is to be helpful and comforting! There will not be any solid qualifications for magic, but I will make sure nothing is too overboard or unjustified before giving approval. 

Anything Else?
Nope! All other traits, such as clothing, accessories, and other embellishments are completely up to you! This is because Comfys are based around what their partners personally like and find comforting, so they can wear anything at all! You can even dress them up! They’re there to spend time with you and they love seeing you happy~ <3
