Physical Appearance

  • Long brown/mahogany hair trailing past hips, always tied up in a bun and/or ponytail
  • Brown eyes, although sometimes she wears gray contacts for certain outfits/looks
  • Fair skinned
  • Medium sized breasts
  • Moderately tall
  • Physically fit with toned muscles

Clothing Style

When in her imperial domain, especially for formal events, she tends to wear gowns that are almost exclusively some shade of red (usually darker reds) with gold, beige, or white embellishments. Her dresses are always rather regal, but never impede her movements. For this reason all her floor-length skirts always have either an open front or slits to keep her leg mobility. Her dresses are also never overly lacy, floofy, or anything too "girly." Her style is strong, intimidating or imposing, and elegant with a touch of sexy flair, although she does not wear anything overly skimpy. Even with her ballgowns, she does not wear simple heels and will always wear boots of varying styles, although they always go to knee-length at minimum.

While being a bit less formal, she will still wear red and usually embellished tops with shorter skirts or something closer to corset leotards with shorter bustles. Her more casual and most common look consists of a plain, red, mid-thigh length dress with black boots and a dark red cloak fastened with a red broach. She will usually wear either black leggings or even black pants under her dress depending on the weather and occasion. She's more likely to wear pants if it's cold or if she wants the extra padding/protection if she's going out in the field, leggings are usually a middle-ground, and she typically doesn't go without something covering her legs unless it's particularly hot out.

With all her outfits she almost always wears gloves, usually black ones, and she will usually have a simple gold circlet/tiara around her bun or ponytail depending on her hairstyle. She will also frequently wear a pair of red-lensed goggles, either her simple traveling ones or her more ornate ones with gold trim and white wing embellishments. For certain formal events or rituals, she may wear a particular head crest that is vaguely crescent moon/fire shaped, but she obviously doesn't wear it frequently since it's a little unwieldy.

Personality

The Lady Anatola often appears to be either emotionless or very cold. She is extremely blunt and terse with her words, holds herself with confident, and exudes a rather intimidating aura of authority. She takes charge of any situation she's in and has a calculating mind that is strategic and ruthless. She tends to be very severe, comes off as snippy, and is usually unforgiving. Behind her harsh exterior she is very eccentric and enjoys very strange things, although she gives no facial indication of such enjoyment. Although many of her casual interests could be considered "whimsical," she rarely approaches them very gently and can seem overly-intense with whatever she's doing. She has a very strange sense of humor and enjoys setting arbitrary rules out to inconvenience people she doesn't care for, and she'll often give overly harsh punishments for incurring her wrath. She appreciates arts, music, and large animals, especially cephalopods. Around her very close circle of friends, she maintains her severe and emotionless demeanor, but her manner of speech tends to loosen up drastically. She also tends to be moderately flirty with her guy friends, especially Detra and Jethro, without being very expressive about it.

Around Skyler she softens up quite a bit and is very tender and protective of him. Although never mushy about it, their affections are very deep and passionate. The two tend to have light-hearted banter with each other that often have a blended tone of affection and teasing. Skyler tends to be very eloquent while also poking fun at Anatola in a calm manner, while Anatola tends to be equally calm but can swing between eloquent and oddly casual and flirty in her manner of speech, all without changing tone. Incurring Anatola's wrath by threatening Skyler is not advised.

When speaking to people of higher or equal authority (mostly before she became Empress), she could have a more normal and even somewhat friendly demeanor. She conducted herself in a very calm and collected manner and was very professional and careful with her words. Since she was trained in the Academy to be a leader and political figure, she knows how to say what others want to hear and keep important figures happy with her decisions. However, since becoming Empress this has become less important and she tends to say and do whatever she pleases, and she's rarely interested in keeping other leading figures happy if they're standing in her way. She only concerns herself with the order of her own empire and the well being of the growing populace she rules.

Trivia:

  • Anatola as a character strikes a very fine balance between being extremely serious and absolutely ridiculous.
  • She has a giant squid called Rhadamanthys, a giant flamingo named Skiffle, a giant hippo named Shilca, and a man eating plant (more like a forest with how much it's grown) called Raydel.
  • The name Anatola came from a channeler unit you could hire for your team of gladiators in the Game Cube game, Gladius. I just thought the name was pretty.
  • The Anatolian Empire seems like a very rich empire, mostly because Anatola claimed control over Sakavist Academy's finances after overthrowing them. Along with the help of various other specially trained students, they were able to claim their vast amounts of money from various accounts and properties the Academy had ownership over.
    • Many of the sketchy corporate entities that had partnerships with Sakavist before the overthrow ended up cutting ties and abandoning them after Anatola took control, but many of the smaller scale businesses that were purchased by Sakavist that basically knew nothing of their corrupt deals simply stayed put. Anatola has made a point to provide whatever honest entities that remained more benefits to better earn and ensure their loyalty.
  • She had an issue where there were peers in her business classes who would constantly trip on her trash can no matter how out-of-the-way she placed it, so eventually she got fed up and threw the last offender out a window. She hasn't had issues since.
  • Her birthday is on February 7th.
  • Enjoys going on walks, even if she doesn't look particularly enthused while doing so.
  • For some reason she winded up getting Skyler as a partner in a ballroom dancing class at the Academy. She found it odd both because he was significantly shorter than her and also blind, but she made it work anyway since she's not one to complain about having a challenge. The two dance very well together despite the height difference.
  • A running gag between her and Skyler involves him offering her a rose every time they meet each other, or whenever he might say something even remotely romantic to her. There's no explanation how Skyler just keeps pulling out roses of his jacket, but he may very well hand her a dozen roses one at a time over the course of a single conversation.
    • Ana just throws them over her shoulder at this point since there's no way she can hold onto them all and it's not like he's going to run out of roses.
    • If they ever go on a walk with each other that involves any kind of intimate conversation, there may very well be a trail of roses in their wake.
  • Her favorite color is obviously red.
  • Her favorite animals are mostly cephalopods, but specifically squids.
  • One of her favorite foods is cheese.
  • Her favorite weapon is her "infernal wrath" but the heels on her boots are a close second.
  • Despite her cold exterior, she believes love is unconditional and requires undying loyalty.
  • By law, everyone must dance on Thursdays. Failure to do so will have you thrown into a twister. Fortunately her definition of "dancing" is pretty loose, for the sake of people who might physically be unable to dance well.
  • The Lady Anatola does not cry. Instead, when she is sad, everyone around her is required to weep for her. Failure to do so will result in being thrown into a whirlpool.
  • By law, if the Lady Anatola starts having a coughing fit, everyone in the vicinity is required to play an instrument until she catches her breath. Failure to do so will result in getting stomped on by a hippo.
    • Fortunately free kazoos are handed out at every welcome center in the Empire.
    • You probably shouldn't visit if you don't like kazoos, because even if some people opt to use a different instrument, everyone is in possession of a kazoo. Beware.
  • If the Lady Anatola is asleep at her throne, it's better to just not wake her up if you don't have a good reason to meet with her. She's likely to pull a comically-large lever and drop you through the floor to be devoured by her squid otherwise.
  • Eating cheese on Saturdays is unlawful, with the punishment of being thrown down a manhole. That doesn't necessarily mean you can't eat cheese on Saturdays as long as you don't mind being thrown down a manhole.
  • Being "unsightly" in the Anatolian Empire will result in you being fed to plants, and then spit out one day later for improvements to be made. Fortunately the definition of "unsightly" is very arbitrary and not what one might expect, considering Anatola's definition of what is sightly and unsightly is rather odd.
  • Due to the previously mention trashcan debacle, tripping on trashcans is outlawed in the Anatolian Empire at the punishment of being launched into the sea via catapult.
    • You'd be surprised how many catapults are hidden in the Empire for this particular instance.
  • Sneezing to the south in the Anatolian Empire is punishable by death. Better bring your compass.
  • Poor singing is outlawed with the punishment of exile, although the opportunity for a better audition is available by request.
  • Vikings may not jump rope with birds in the Anatolian Empire, with the penalty of a 12 hour ban on chocolate.
    • You don't want to know of the specific incident that caused this very particular law to be passed.
  • It is illegal to be in possession of pudding that cannot be sipped throw a straw in the Anatolian Empire, with the punishment of 24 mandatory community service hours at the Pudding Mines.
    • Don't ask about the Pudding Mines.
  • Brick-throwing is officially outlawed in the Anatolian Empire, with the punishment of ingesting a gopher-shaped paper weight.
    • So if your diet primarily consists of gopher-shaped paper weights, YOU'RE IN LUCK.
  • Toaster-throwing is restricted to only the upperclass members of the Empire. Violators will be punished with mandatory ladder-painting for 40 service hours.
    • On the bright side, all the ladders in the Empire look fabulous.
  • Flash photography in Anatola's palace is prohibited, with the punishment of 30 years in prison.
  • Severely disturbing the peace in the Empire is punished by being blown into Viking lands via twister.
  • Vandalism in the Empire is through silencing through duck tape.
    • Quack.
  • It is illegal to be in possession of a pickle that does not bounce, with the punishment of washing a gryphon.
  • If the Anatolian fire brigade comes to blow up your house, you're not allowed to protest unless you want to get blown up with it.
    • They'll only blow up your house for very particular reasons though, so let's face it: your house probably deserved to be blown up anyway.
  • The Lady Anatola considers slurping jello through a straw to be an act of rebellion and the establishment of a resistance colony. This act may be punished by controllable laughter by the masses at the offender for four days and three nights. Exceptions may be granted to those who apply for a jello-slurping license.
  • Her nervous habit is slapping people she doesn't care much for. You know things are bad when she starts slapping random faces.
  • Old Charahub blurb: "Supreme leader of the Anatolian Empire and the planet of Memioras."
