Profile

Bio

Fun is eminent in the presence of Roxie, for she commands it so. Endless. Nonstop. Eccentric. Restless. Giddy. Even the irate can’t get irritated reliably long. Maybe that’s a stretch, but it makes for interesting wordplay. Roxie exists with one foot in reality, and the rest of her in a world of her own. Living in a fantasy by oneself is lonely though, so she always brings friends along for the ride whether they’re aware of it or not. She’s a spark of life on the ship, not just for her liveliness, but her kindness, and the fact that she’s the main medical personnel on board. Prepare to be diagnosed with a terminal case of happiness! And yes, it’s contagious.

Voice Claims

Monari Wakita,  Aya Hirano or something medium/high-pitched

Personality

Imagination paves the road she walks on. This is most obvious when she’s at her least comprehensible, talking in riddles, metaphors, hyperbole, and just generally showing off her linguistics education. However, it also plagues her with thoughts of how anything can become a health hazard. She’s a stickler for safety because of this, and also takes her medical duties deathly seriously. As happy as she is, keeping on a smile 24/7 just isn’t reasonable, but she’d rather let others think it is for her, because what kind of friend lets their friends know they’re sad? Her being sad would make them sad, and what kind of so-called good friend makes their friends sad? Not Roxie. It’s easy for others to think of her as an airhead, but she’s much more observant than people expect. She hates being underestimated, but rather than let it show through negative emotions, she’s developed a habit of subtly showing off her skills. Sometimes she does it for fun. Roxie loves her friends and making new ones, but there’s always a period of awkwardness when they’re trying to figure out what her deal is. She doesn’t always realize how strange she comes off to others. Roxie prides herself in making others happy and expresses her love through compliments, copious amounts of affection, and including them in her ongoing stories about The Great Roxaelia and her crusade of justice across the galaxy.

Backstory

Roxie grew up smack-dab in the middle of the United States in a small Kansas town with her dad. Since her dad was at work most of the time, and she was an only child, Roxie often busied herself with her imagination. As she got older, she enrolled in different extra-curricular activities, like softball and baton-twirling. Her original plan was to become a pro softball player, but when the option of joining the Interstellar Forces opened up to her, she decided why not go to space instead (much to the grief of her worrying father.) Shortly after she joined, she met her idol, Jun Kim, and they became best friends!

Relationships

Leon - "Rookie's such a cute! He will be cherished!!" Roxie considers Leon to be her adorable, dorky younger brother whose face is too squishy not to squeeze! They share a lot of the same interests. Even when their interests differ, they're still excited for one another, as they're both excited more often than not; it's just their personality. Roxie also thinks it's cute how Leon seems to look up to her...and everyone else. He's also fun to tease, but she never resorts to anything malicious, just things that irritate him into laughter.

Mia - "Wattson is adorable and I am her friend!" Roxie is glad that she and Mia could meet again. She knows she always has an audience in Mia and greatly appreciates it. They talk about the things they like (and sometimes hate!) in the comics they read. Roxie is glad to have someone on board who is almost as passionate about literature as she is! She finds it cute how easy Mia is to impress. Roxie's proud of her and her accomplishments and loves seeing her smile.

Jun - "Junzie's my hero!!" Roxie knew of Jun for their accomplishments before she even met them. She thought it was super cool how Jun went undercover for so long! To be honest, Roxie has faced being patronized for her hobbies due to her gender and the way she expresses herself, and Jun was living proof that anyone could do anything. Roxie was shocked when she actually got to meed Jun Kim; they were so down-to-earth! She still wonders why someone like them would be friends with her. Roxie enjoys Jun's laid-back-ness in contrast to her own high energy! She thinks they compliment each other very well. Roxie considers Jun to be a cool big sibling.

Aiden - "A friend of Jun's is a friend of mine!" Roxie and Aiden are very different. Roxie was actually kind of intimidated by him, but still tried to befriend him anyway! Despite their differences, it actually kinda worked! They don't really understand each other, but they enjoy each other's presence. They both like Jun; that's enough, right?

Angelo - "Muffinhead is a precious child who needs to be protected from all things at all times!!" Who let this precious child aboard a space ship?? Where are his parents?? As if his brother wasn't already too cute to exist, Roxie swears by her life that she'll protect this one. He's so shy, too, but Roxie will be his friend, as Roxie will be everyone on the ship's friend! It breaks Roxie's heart when Angelo looks sad. She wants to pat his muffin-shaped hair and tell him it'll be okay, but worries that'd be too patronizing, he is 18 after all. She has nicknamed him Muffinhead, after his character in The Great Roxaelia universe. She is glad to have him as her sidekick.

Emil - "Emzie's great and cool!" Roxie is older than Emil, but Emil acts like an older brother to everyone. This is a problem, as they must fight to establish dominance, but they love each other, so it's not really a big deal. Emil gives great hugs! Very squishy, almost as back-breaking as hers, which she feels are the best kind of hugs, because they squeeze the sadness out. They have different interests, but they still support each other. They feed off of each other's energy.

Lorenzo - "I wonder if he'd like a friend?"  To Roxie, the captain seems so lonesome. She wants to extend an arm of friendship to him, but wonders if she might be annoying him at the same time. Emil supports her in her efforts, though.

Trivia and Headcanons Made Canon:

  • "Since Mia and Roxie are into comics, They like to go watch movies/tv shows of all the characters they read about. If Roxie or Mia plan to watch one, they will never start until the other is there."  by gummy
  • "Roxie keeps a selection of books and highlights really good quotes and descriptions for things to use later in her life. She sometimes rewrite them in a little journal 'inspiration words and ways to make life more fun'. A member of her crew found it one day, read it and quickly picked up one of her the storybooks to read out of curiosity. (the two then bond over it)" by Wonderland
