Bio

Emil’s a star! Burning bright with energy, he keeps the ship’s spirits high. His casual demeanor helps him act as a mediator between the rest of the crew and the often reclusive captain. Despite his position of power, he just wants everyone to be friends. He lives his life carefree, joking around and entertaining others. When it comes to rules rules, they can be bent a little! People make honest mistakes. Who is he to hold them to strict standards sometimes he can’t even reach? Emil believes in his friends first and foremost; he’s got their back!

Personality

Many describe Emil as a charming young man. With his looks, charisma, and many talents, it’s not hard to imagine him as a celebrity of some kind. He certainly wouldn’t mind the attention! However, one of the things that make him most well-liked is his approachability. He’s not the type to turn his nose up a those less fortunate on the social ladder, and tries to include as many people as he can on his fun. He considers himself a champion of the rowdy and the troublemakers, though growing up in a strict household skewed his perception of how rough and tumble he actually is. His confidence is sky high, but he’s not above admitting his shortcomings or making himself look silly. That’s why it’s so important to him to make so many different friends. Emil takes it upon himself to bring the best out of people, because everyone has something to bring to the table even if they don’t see it. His big heart prompts him to stick his neck out for people he believes mean well.

Backstory

Emil grew up with Lorenzo, mostly attending school at the Interstellar Forces Prep Academy after moving from Texas to space. As a kid, he picked fights with anyone who called Lorenzo an "emotionless nerd", often being dragged away by the very person he tried to defend. His family managed to make him chill out over the years. Emil was fortunate enough to spend most of his life surrounded by people who loved him, but sometimes that love could be constricting, especially in the case of his father. His father's concern for the family often conflicted with Emil's social life, leaving the latter feeling like a bird with clipped wings. Despite this and other misunderstandings, they have a decent relationship, and Emil was pretty psyched when his dad entrusted him with being the lieutenant captain of the Celestion-5.

Relationships

Leon - "Ahhh, good ol' Rookie. Such a flatterer!" Having someone as peppy as Leon makes Emil's job a heck of a lot easier! Leon's something like a little brother to him. He loves how starstruck Leon is by his actions, words, and talents even though the barrage of compliments embarrasses him. Emil appreciates Leon's earnest nature, and knows he can count on him for anything. He gave Leon the nickname Rookie.

Mia - "Please be friends with my bro!" Emil sees his brother's personality in Mia. They both love space, they like their space, and they're both kinda socially awkward! Emil thinks the two should be friends, and is trying to set up a situation where they'd talk to each other.

Roxie - "Roxie's like the sister I never had!" Roxie's unrestrained energy reminds Emil of himself when he's less restrained. He doesn't always follow what she's saying, but if she's happy, he's happy. Her physical strength and softball skills amaze Emil; he hopes to become as strong as her one day, and wishes he could train with her more. Even though Roxie's 4 years his senior, Emil still tries to keep up his big brotherly persona around her. She still acts like a big sister to him. It's very confusing for them both, but they manage.

Jun - "I hope I turn out like Jun when I get older." The fact that Jun went through so much potential danger being themself, and survived it all really inspires Emil. He wants to do everything he can to make them feel welcome on the ship. Also, they give really thoughtful advice, and he really appreciates that.

Aiden - "Is it really....It is him!! It's the cool jet tricks guy!" Emil previously saw Aiden when his dad let him and his brother tour an IF spacecraft. Aiden was outside of the ship doing tricks in his jet armor, probably not even noticing Emil, but Emil noticed him. His 14-year-old mind was blown. He used to try to practice the same tricks when he first started learning how to use the jets, but could never quite replicate them right. Now he gets to meet the professional in the flesh! Emil can't quite contain his excitement; Aiden's like the streetwise, rebellious older sibling he never had. Feeling like the rebellious one in his own family, Emil considers himself alike in that regard.

Angelo - "Don't worry! You can get stronger, I believe in you!" Angelo's a nice guy. He tries his best. Emil is there to give him some extra encouragement. He also wants to give Angelo a nickname, but Leon is already Rookie, so what does that make Angelo?

Lorenzo - "I love my bro! He's really great and cool and smart and--" They don't see eye-to-eye on everything and couldn't be more different from each other; still, Emil strives to be his brother's biggest supporter. Lorenzo's brains were always something Emil admired. Though he never always understood his older brother, he enjoys listening to him talk about his interests. He wishes other people can see Lorenzo the way he does. His stubbornness can get on Emil's nerves though, especially when he can't admit he needs help. Emil usually calls him Lorie for short.
