Show Me Comfort Characters

For many years I have used characters as a way to cope. I didn't grow up with many friends so I made my own. I know how it feels to have a character that means so much to you that you can't even explain how or why. I love seeing characters that I know someone else finds comfort in. Even though I don't know the character or may not even like the design personally just knowing how important that character is to someone brings me joy.

What character gives you comfort to write, draw or use in anyway?

Snow Shoe makes me feel safe and secure. I use him to help ward away fears and stresses, especially so at night when my mind goes wild and something as simple as a shadow will frighten me. I have a plushie of him so he can feel more physical and real. Ink is another character I use to help with stress. Don't know why, but drawing him does tend to help more so than other characters.

p much all of my characters are comfort characters since my ocs are my special interest but i p heavily relate to sam

he was originally kind of a one-note 'pureboi' uwu until i started writing into his character n ended up writing him 2 be on the spectrum and writing a lot of his experience in that regard based on mine (which actually happened v accidentally lmao - i was writing him to be a 'quirky' character with one or two of my comfort habits thrown in and i got asked by someone who read my stuff if he was supposed to be on the spectrum. @ first i was like 'well whoops nah that was just me not knowing how to write neurotypicals SRY lmao' until i eventually decided 'hey yknow what i AM gonna write this boi that way')

havin a character who openly stims n has some of my habits w/o any of it being acknowledged as weird or different is just so good n i love him so much

I don't draw her very often (I do have other characters I comfort-draw though) but she's always around to be fluffy and ridiculous and talk some sense into me, in fact physically, because she originates in a plush toy, lol (saw at least one other toy-origin character in this thread, very interesting!)

I haven’t written about her yet but I’m planning to soon, and I just find her design and everything really relaxing. I mainly designed her to be a comfort character, I swear I can make morally ambiguous characters. I just don’t put any of them up on here.

Joelle Caize

this is a good thread. i have a couple more characters i might call comfort characters but i'm not sure they fit the definition Enough but anyway. joelle is based on old edutainment cd-rom games and such, which are a comfort/nostalgia sort of thing for me. she's one of my favorite ocs

While in my head he's not my closest oc, he's definitely my favorite! I think it's just the fact hes the best cowboy and also my first "good" character in my eyes!

I just feel comfortable drawing him or using him in any way. Idk why!

Quinton Pierce 007

Quinton is my main oc, and trumps over everyone else in how much I write and draw him_{(unintentional, but he's really the only oc I really love right now whoops)}

At this point i'd definitely consider him a comfort character because the immense attachment I have to him and of course because he's a huge comfort to draw/view

He’s pretty unsettling to most, but my boy here gives me nice warm feelings whenever I see him uwu he’s definitely a comfort character for sure

i'm attracted more to 'soft' looking ocs with pastel or light colours? even with themes like the night sky / moon / stars, any sort of calming theme i loVE

This guy tbh. He's only been with me for a year but i'm quickly attached to him. The way he conveys emotion w his feature rlly struck me and he's just overall relaxing. He' also quick and a joy to draw bc of his "simple" design ahah
