Member of a teenage gang, group of friends who meet up, hang out, help each other out in their family or society can't, cause some light mischief and occasionally get into fights with other groups over the best hangout locations in the 1970s.

He has bleached his choppy mullet into a reddy-brown colour, though he hates bleaching his hair to re-dye it so he always has his black roots showing. He has big, droopy olive green eyes, a strong face, an upturned nose, bushy eyebrows and a mole on the left side of his mouth. He has a heavier set build and often works out.

Santiago loves his friends, he is very easy-going and level-headed, and is always offers help, time or an ear to those he cares for, he's quick to forgive and forget and craves belonging and connection with other people more than anything else. He rarely gets angry, and when he does he hides it well though being very calm and laidback can lead to him being slow to act and he dislikes risks. He is smart, he excelled in school and has a good sense of tactics and mathematics especially, though most people wouldn't guess it since he dislikes bragging and a fairly humble person, though his love of learning and reading he also has a wide vocabulary and can often uses long or strange words. He has a tendency to hold onto money and material possessions when he comes across them which can lead to him acting greedy, and due to his easy going nature he also has a habit of being rude in social settings such as forgetting social boundaries, being overly friendly and openly complaining. He is good at controlling his emotions and very agreeable, but he stands up for his friends and rarely gets scared or intimidated by others, he's good at deescalating situations, but he isn't afraid of jumping into fights either.

Santiago's family moved to the USA from Mexico when he was very young, when they moved over they had little money and settled into an urban city, his parents both taking up jobs to support the family. His parents were very busy but they always took time to take care of and have personal time with Santiago and his siblings, and when he entered school he found that he quickly surpassed his peers, and as he got older he found that he had a lot of free time on his hands as he didn't need to study or put in as much effort as his fellow students, this lead him to reading more complex literature, playing chess and coming up with his own mathematical puzzles to amuse himself and enhanced his relaxed attitude. However, this also lead to a gap between him and his classmates, he felt isolated from them and he gained a reputation for seeming aloof and above everyone else, and in order to help bridge the gap he took up team sports, football, rugby, basketball, any sport that was currently running he would try out for. He did get into several sports teams and over time began to improve at them, and while he was never a star player on any of his teams, he was a consistent and reliable teammate. He eventually settled into a rhythm and started to enjoy the life he had made for himself.

However, when he was 15 his father was injured in a work accident and his family, who were still financially struggling needed to use up all their savings to pay for his fathers life-saving treatment, which ruined Santiago's chances at higher education and lead him to drop many of his afterschool sporting commitments and get a part time job. He picked up a job working at a mechanics, using his strength and ability to learn quickly to make some money for his family, however this also lead to him drifting away from the friends he had just started to get close to and being exhausted from work and doing sports when he got the chance left him right where all his classmates were, and he faded back into the crowd academically. He soon found himself frustrated and extremely disappointed and with no way to remedy his situation he began to lash out, talking back to his teachers, parents and classmates, though most around him  thought he was just upset at not being special anymore and refused to take him seriously which only made the situation worse. Eventually he came across a boy in the year below him getting harassed by older teenagers outside of school, and deciding they were acceptable targets, he started a fight with them where him and the boy beat their attackers and afterwards they became friends. They both were in bad situations but through helping each other out, they managed to get back a sense of friendship and security they had lost, and eventually they found others like them people to join their gang. The first person to join them was Aries, a hot headed rebel from a nearby high school who had gotten into more trouble than he could handle, then while escaping from a car theft accusation the group ran into Yorkie, an outcast who spent most of his time hanging out at the boardwalk who was very eager to join the gang.
