Numenandilaron was born in the city of Sunhold on Mainland Summerset to Loramia and Nelecar Elsinor. Although the family had moderate noble holdings their status and influence were on the decline. Numen, as the sole heir of the Elsinor family in over a hundred years, was reared as the one to restore their family status. His upbringing may be considered harsh - secluded in a villa on the edges of the coastal city he did not attend schooling or social activity outside of the Elsinor grounds. Numen was raised with little else in mind beyond restoring their family status and rising to political power. From as young as four he was taught the Altmeri political agenda and noble propriety as well as regular lessons to unlock his magic. Despite many years of trying and teaching, Numen struggled to release any spark of magic despite his magical lineage. This caused a rift within the family, and the general assessment for Numen as their political tool soured. He rarely saw his parents growing up beyond assessment and got to know the working class who served to create the perfect heir instead.

Due to growing concerns from the war, when Numen was ten, the family relocated to the city of Alinor with great difficulty. An unfathomable amount of strings had been pulled in the relocation and Numen near became a scapegoat for the family's troubles. As Numen's window to manipulate magic grew shorter, the family successfully convinced Alinor's most renowned Magus to take him on as an apprentice in attempt to unlock his magicka. Ancalis was a harsh master and treated Numen far differently from any other apprentice he had previously taken into his care. He scolded and punished the simplest mistakes, trying to force the magic from Numen in whatever ways he could but nothing seemed to work despite his efforts. Ancalis, near enraged at Numen's lack of any progress in two years, cast his apprentice out and sullied his chances of receiving a calian any time soon by writing a notice on the Elsinor family heir. This nearly destroyed the last strands of a reputation the family had and had them teetering on the edge of leaving Alinor, with Numen close to becoming apraxic himself.

As a final resort, Numen was gifted to the Thalmor as a political bargain to maintain their small holdings shortly after the apprenticeship was cut. After three years in the care of Thalmor investigators and professors, taught by methods "behind closed doors" otherwise shunned within their society, Numen at last received his calian and was permitted to participate actively in altmeri society as an adult.

This turnaround was enough for Nelecar and Loramia to once again consider crowning Numen as the new heir and lead of the family. This revelation was bittersweet for Numen - to the outside world he had grown to be a fierce soldier and a polite mer in regards to his political negotiations. His reputation had prospered, but he himself struggled regularly. Numen often suffered anxiety attacks and depressive episodes where he would tuck himself away from the world, delaying his rise to the Elsinor seat of power. At long last, he accepted to position and was now responsible for the Elsinor status and holdings at age twenty-seven, a rather unusual and young age for such a promotion and it easily crafted talk and rumours throughout the isles. The family were infamous by now.

This reign was short lived, Numen attempted to raise the political status of the family to return their power and holdings and created a silent political riot. An assassin was hired to murder him. Upon returning from a negotiation with the Canonreeves he was attacked; weakened by poison he attempted to raise the alarm on their estate but simply could not do it. The assassin in question dug daggers straight through Numen, ensuring his suffering and his inability to recover slowly and painfully for leaving him to die at last. The Skaafin daedra, Calamity, took his opportunity to approach Numen in his desperate time, at the very brink of death. Calamity teased and mocked Numen, at last offering him the only salvation he could take. Calamity would restore Numen and in exchange he would rise through political power with the Daedric power at his back. He accepted with little to no hesitation, simply hoping that he wouldn't die. The deal was struck, and Numen woke the next morning like it had not even occurred. The wound in his chest was sealed by a strong magical power and the newfound ability in him was immediate. Naturally, the source of the hired assassin had presumed Numen dead and had begun to spread rumour of his death. This lead Numen right to the source of his assassin, and with no mercy he gave the canonreeve to the skaafin and staged his resignation upon his disappearance.

Numen's outlook and his goals seemingly warped around him, unaware of calamity's influence coursing through him over time. He found himself gaining momentum and confidence in his ability and influence, beginning to garner political power and status upgrade after status upgrade. At the peak of these negotiations he at last cut off the rest of the Elsinor family and assumed it's fortune for himself. With power and influence successfully tucked under his wing, he began to create his personal force to bolster it. One of these individuals was Velani, a khajiit sponsored by none other than Ancalis to become a political tool for the Thalmor. When she had supposedly gone mad, he accepted her into his ranks and manipulated her in her time of need to his side. Velani, along with Siriurmende and Vinalmo, two other vulnerable Altmer with a need to have their past erased from the records. The three were to become the instruments of Numen's political rise and manipulation, and were the beginning of his overturning of Alinor. Since then, he attempted to orchestrate the assassination of the mane and attempted to dismantle the magical authority in Alinor and is currently seeking more things to destroy and rebuild whilst accumulating more influence.
