Luka's Links
No one is more important to Luka than Jamie. Luka has known Jamie since they were children, and though Luka often treats him with a cool, disinterested attitude, there are really no others he would ever choose over Jamie--even when the shark walks in on him in the middle of sex with another guy. Though he isn't comfortable admitting as much to himself and certainly not to Jamie, Luka is very much in love with him, but would prefer to express his care for Jamie as his best friend and consigliere.
Luka was the first friend that Jamie ever made--he is Jamie's best friend, and his most important friend. The two do everything together and have an extensive past, so much so that Jamie trusts Luka with his life. Unlike everyone else, he finds it very easy to ignore Luka's faults, able to read the things the rabbit doesn't say. He will always defend Luka, even if that means taking someone else's life into his own hands. Jamie has also been in love with Luka for as long as he can remember, unhealthily dependant on him. As he's gotten older he's tried to increase the intimacy between them, often sleeping in Luka's bed and kissing him when drunk. He's sure that Luka loves him too, but figures the rabbit needs more time to let himself accept that.
As Jamie's little sister, Luka has grown up with Klarissa much like how he grew up with Jamie, although Klarissa was needed and welcomed at her own home a bit more often than her older brother. Although Luka likes to pretend he doesn't, he definitely has a soft spot for Klarissa, often going out of his way to make sure she's well and help comfort her when she needs it. He doesn't mind her tagging along when he does things with Jamie, either, especially snce the two of them have some similar interests.
It's no secret that Luka isn't fond of Enzo, even if he isn't proud of the reasons why. The truth of the matter is that it started back when Enzo and Jamie first met--a time when Luka was really Jamie's only friend, and even at 13, he was possessive of Jamie and unwilling to share. After all the years, it's become clear that Enzo isn't going anywhere. In general, Luka finds his personality obnoxious and his intelligence, or lack thereof, frustrating, but he wouldn't discourage Jamie from his friendship--he knows how much Enzo means to Jamie.
Luka and Enzo are far from friends, and while Enzo doesn't absolutely loathe Luka, he doubts the feeling is mutual. He knows it isn't, really--Luka is very protective over Jamie, and Enzo has a sneaking suspicion the rabbit isn't fond of how close he and Jamie are. Since joining the mafia, Luka has taken every opportunity to be unwelcoming, from small quips about his intelligence and just being cruel to him in general. But Enzo knows how dangerous Luka can be, and thinks the fact that he isn't dead yet means that Luka can't truly hate him. Jamie mostly keeps things from getting too nasty between them, but Enzo doesn't see Luka as a threat to his friendship with Jamie, regardless of how Luka might see him. It's annoying to be insulted and belittled whenever the man is around, but Enzo has a thick skin.
As with Jamie, Luka would be perfect if he wasn't so overtly gay. He's cold, calculating, and ruthless, but he's also unwaveringly loyal, and those are all very positive traits in the family. Orlando doesn't have to be told of Luka's feats; he's well aware of how hard-working the rabbit has always been, and definitely thinks he deserves his position as Jamie's right-hand-man. He constantly finds himself wishing Luka could act more professionally though, and take the mafia more seriously. There's no need to dress the way he does and handle himself the way he does, and it frustrates Orlando, wondering why he doesn't care more about his masculinity; Luka is very strong, yet presents himself as very weak, and he doesn't understand it.
