Casey's Links
"Shut up. WHERE did you put them."
Scum of the earth. The complete antithetical to everything he stands for. Despises her for the actions she took in his second cycle, and while that left him with little memory of the event, the grudge remains.
"How have you been, dear Detective? You look as exhausted and disgruntled as ever! Still chasing dead ends, are you?" One of the few people to ever attempt to contest her vision and tight control. He has a habit of finding what she prefers to keep lost. Those who are unwilling to play their parts in her perfect world will inevitably find themselves [REDACTED] from the stage.
(She also keeps stealing his dear friends, it’s very funny.)
Casey and Lin met in Casey's first cycle, when he was still a spry detective of 25. While he was originally annoyed by Lin's continued intrusions into HIS crime scenes, after a moment of being around the man, he found himself. intrigued. By him. Annoyance grew to tolerance, which grew to friendship. A good turn for the both of them. While he often acts annoyed by lin's antics, he does genuine care for the other, and if nothing else, is kept on his feet by what bullshit lin's managed to pull this time. Annoyance(affectionate).
If you didn’t want Lin to trespass on your crime scenes, stop putting the crime on top of the mysteries. Was his usual aloof cryptic self, up to the (semi-illegal) antics he usually gets up to, much to Casey’s displeasure. Nearly died at one point, but was proven wrong in his belief that nobody cared about him and whether he lived or died when the man took a risk to save his ass. Slowly, Lin began opening up bit by bit to the comforting presence of a friend and learning to be vulnerable and linger again. Shows his love in small, gentle gestures (and also shenanagins and bullshit). Detective(affectionate, butter dispenser)
His twin sister, and the reason he is in the void at all. While the two were extremely close growing up, they grew apart as Casey left the house to get away from the oppressive presence of their father while Cassie...Didnt. After She dissapeared- He turned his whole life toward finding any scrap of what might've happened, any hint that she might be alive- somewhere. As a Void User, that search continues, lifetime, after lifetime, fruitlessly clinging to someone long gone.
…Who?
Wait a minute. You seem *awful* familiar….
"I can't quite place it, but I feel...an amount of shame and guilt related to this man. please stop interrogating me in this manner I promise I'll talk, I'm just confused--"
"H-HEY! get back here-!" Something about her make his head hurt. He's so, so close, why cant just *FIND* the answer!
"Dear Mr. Detective, what clues have you?"
[A pitiful man, lost in the maze built out of the clutter of what he has desperately pinned as "clues".]
"You BASTARD!" Former coworkers, Casey put the pieces together about spades true identity just a little to late. Now he has a lovely forehead scar and a grudge to remember the other man by.
You just had to get in the way, didn't you detective?
This is the last time hes going to trust any well dressed, yellow themed men. All it's earned him so far is head trauma. Will be on the cats case, just as soon as he stops being concussed on the floor of the laundromat.
Stupid, gullible old man. Significantly lacking in shovel resistance. He served his purpose helping Mo find his dear spider lily. What a shame.. for Casey. *VIOLENT BONK SFX*
Funny guy, fun to mess around with. Ness met him purely through Lin, but he considers Casey a friend in his own regards. In another life he could've related to Casey, perhaps. Hopes he finds what he's looking for, family's important after all.
Ah, His old roommate, that he certainly didn't think was attractive! Nope, not at all just guys being dudes. Its been lifetimes though, the guys probably lived his own life by now.
Once upon a lifetime ago, a lost feral child was found by a equally as lost coat man.
And strange as they were, they became family.
Her reflective face came with a knack for bringing new evidence to light, and just as much new trouble...
It’s a shame all that remains of that life was lost to ash and sand.
Time it seems has not made it easy to find each other again.
Their Father. Dr.Caito was not a family man, even in the best of days, and casey quickly grew to despise him, as the years dragged on and the man continued to hole away, tinkering on that godforsaken project of his. Casey flew the damn coop as soon as he could, and encouraged his sister to do the same. After all, what good was the old codger doing for other sequester away like that? Casey was going to help people in the ways that mattered, feet on the ground and head in the action.
He always knew the bastard would fuck it up somehow- but to drag his SISTER in on it?
He'll never forgive him.
