story: all 6 members of the Kraken's Cry boyband were once captured test subjects for tarter before he went overboard and started sanitization on his test subjects. before this, he had the idea of making the perfect species by blending the genetics of inklings and octolings with that of the creatures that were around during the time of humans. he had chosen 6 animal fossils to extract from: the rabbit, the snake, the cat, the dog, the ram, and the bear. as they were tested on, they took on some physical attributes of the animals, having their inkling/octoling ears fall off, and having animal ears grow in place, pupils changing, and much more. eventually these six members grew sick of being playthings for tarter, and broke out of the testing facility, and was cofronted by tarter. after a long fight, they had defeated the device, and had permanantly damaged the ai in the process, causing it to now believe that he had to test more subjects, and start using the sanatization material that he had just come up with. and so, the 6 members made it up to the surface, free, but with nowhere to go. just by walking around the splatlands, they eventually came upon a oasis hotel, owned by a giant octopus called Levithian. this octopus, being told what had happened to them, was horrified to hear this, and offered them to stay overnight, and get them some new clothes. story continued: during this night, the men revealed that they had a talent for singing, and during their time at kambaba labs, they used to sing together to pass the time. levithian, now intrigued, asked to hear some of their singing, and so they did. he saw potential in them, and revealed that he was a rich music producer for some of the top idols in splatopolis, and that he would like to take them abord the company as a new boyband. excited at the oppertunity, the 6 accepcted and became an overnight sensation with their catchy pop tunes. story continued: as of late, they've been collaborating with levithian's twin daughters, river and stream, to produce a new song to rattle the music world. the animal his genes were infused with is the bear
