Physical Appearance

• Long dark blue hair mostly over one shoulder that trails past her tail
• Blue eyes
• Blue scaled tail - end is one large fin with a smaller one on the side; NOT split evenly in the middle like a whale/dolphin tail

Clothing Style

Alcata's upper body clothing and accessories tend to be blue and gold in color, and she loves shiny and flowing pieces to wear. She loves sparkly headpieces, necklaces, bracelets or gloves, and body chains. Many things she wears are either treasures she's found or made of undersea materials, such as shells, scales, coral, or the like. When in human form, she prefers to not wear shoes, but if she must she tends to prefer sandals when outside. However she has a weakness for soft socks when at home. She loves loose and flowing tops and skirts or dresses, especially if they flutter in the wind. She tends to like simple designs with cool colors or gradients, although she still loves having lots of shiny accessories.

Personality

Alcata is a curious and somewhat timid mermaid who has a playful nature. She can come off as teasingly flirty on first impressions since she enjoys enticing people from a distance before hiding back in the water, but she is incredibly shy if she remains in someone's company for longer than a few fleeting moments. She loves exploring and finding treasures, and she's rather easy to please with shiny or interesting looking objects or trinkets. She can be a little simplistic and doesn't usually think of the consequences of her actions beforehand, and she often just follows her heart or gut feeling. She does have a good heart and is down to earth though, and when she realizes she's made a mistake she does try her best to learn from it or make amends when she can.

Alcata can come off as a little immature sometimes, especially when around new things that excite her or when around cute little creatures or children, especially her own children. She's very fun and doting on her kids, but she can be a little irresponsible at times, and she usually relied on her husband to handle serious matters or guide her back to her responsibilities. Alcata has a very "adult who won't grow up" personality and demeanor, but she does know how to take things seriously, and she takes nothing more seriously than the well being and happiness of her family. However, serious or dark topics make her very sad and she avoids them as much as possible.

Backstory

Alcata lived in Osakava of Onakaiya, charming men near Lake Osa and all the connecting rivers, and even traveling to Aaquanixie through the warp points at the bottom of the lake to find more quarry. Unlike other sirens, she was not interested in leading people to their watery graves, and she'd be content with playing with them before releasing them relatively unharmed. Since she never killed her victims, they lived on still under her spell, constantly seeking her out obsessively, often leading to their watery graves on their own accord. Alcata never meant to do this with malicious intent, but she was always rather careless how she used her siren spells since she never encountered her victims afterwards.

However, one day she happened across Zulatticuzin Etruka near the coast of Lake Osa, severely injured and near death. Alcata pitied him and tried to charm him into the water to put him out of his misery, but she was surprised when none of her spells or songs had any affect on him. Feeling both concerned about his suffering and curious why he could resist her, she risked going out to him and healed his wounds with her rifting as best she could before fleeing back to the water. She was pleased to see him return a few days later, looking for her.

A few months passed, and while Alcata was traveling through Aaquanixie she became entangled in a fishing net and was pulled aboard a ship. The sailors intended to kill her, since they found all sirens to be dangerous, but Zulatticuzin along with his companions happened to be passengers and fought off the entire crew before commandeering the ship. After this incident, Zul followed Alcata back to Lake Osa where they remained together and had two children. At some point Alcata desired to move to Taliac, where her sister Nerissa lived with her family upon learning a spell to gain legs. The family moved there and Alcata fell in love with the new land.

However, before meeting Zul, Alcata had charmed his younger brother, Zymatthiazin. She never knew the relation between the two and didn't remember Zy particularly, yet her spell consumed his life by causing him to obsess over her for years. He became enraged when he saw his brother with her, and he began stalking their family after they moved to Taliac. He was diverted for a few years after legitimately falling in love with Ursula Zweiger, but after she died in childbirth he was unable to control his returning obsession with Alcata. Zy traveled to their home in Taliac, indiscriminately killing anyone he crossed paths with, and broke into their home with the intent to take Alcata for himself. He managed to kill their oldest boy, Tommy, but Alcata got between him and Tyler and was shot to death. The spell on Zy was then broken and he left, still bitter but ashamed.
