History

Cynfael was born to a Huge family that lived in the middle of the barren snowscape nothing of Valden, so food/supplies/etc were scarce but his family was close and loving nonetheless (though they were also all pretty loud, crass, and hotheaded). One day, when his younger siblings were skating, one of them broke through the ice and Cyn jumped in after them, managing to save them but drowning in the process. For his sacrifice and heart of gold underneath all that crude attitude, Cyn was reincarnated as a guardian angel, guided by angel senpai, Mithril.

Cyn was eventually given his first charge, which was some kid who was a victim of bullying. After the kid died in a horrible prank gone wrong, however, Cyn was shaken by how cruel others could be and ran off, abandoning his angel duties and starting his Delinquent Phase(TM) where he basically just beat up whatever demons/other dangerous supernatural creatures/bad people he could find to make himself feel better. After getting beat up real bad himself (at night in an alley where it was also raining), he is found by a mortal who takes him in to nurse him back to health, despite Cyn's protests and verbal abuse. Jasper's Act of Kindness convinces Cyn to give mortals another chance and he returns to Mithril sheepishly. After hearing about what happened, Mithril pulls some strings and gets Cyn reassigned to to act as Jasper's guardian angel in the hopes it will be good for Cyn's growth and recovery. Which, like, it is, but it has also proven to be more complicated than Cyn's black and white views are used to and it's been causing some Road Bumps.
