Aaryn used to be a genuinely nice guy back in the day, even if he was more impulsive and hot-headed than is generally recommended for a principality. However, after a mortal he had been working with closely for centuries became a demon and a large percentage of his host that he loved like family Fell due to mortals as well, he eventually grew to become bitter, cynical, and closed off from others. He still has issues with impulsiveness and hot-headedness but he has simmered down quite a bit in recent centuries compared to what he used to be and is more inclined to at least try to talk things out, even if his stubbornness renders that rather moot most of the time. He likes to put on a tough face anyway to give his remaining host confidence and reassurance, but his sentimentality often gets the better of him and he can’t even bring himself to truly abandon those who fell from his host, as much as he says otherwise.

To keep thoughts of them and lingering regrets of what he could or should have done to prevent it from his mind, Aaryn throws himself into his work and prides himself on performing to the best of his abilities despite the fact that he’s working to help save mortals that honestly kind of disgust him as a whole at this point. He remains polite to them, however, and keeps all judgmental thoughts to himself. His job is to save those who need it after all, not mingle with the few decentish mortals left, and he isn’t one to question his goddess’ orders.

History

[***needs significant updating] As a principality, Aaryn's angel duties used to be guiding and protecting a specific branch of mortals while also presiding over a host of angels and giving them their charges. Unfortunately, his sweet Holy Paperwork gig came to an end after a bunch of angels under his watch fell at once and both the event that caused it and Aaryn were put under investigation to find out what happened. In the meantime, this means that his host is short on angels and Aaryn is being punted back into the field to help cover the deficient and wow, things sure have changed in the mortal world after doing centuries of desk work.

Aaryn is not terribly happy about this arrangement, especially since he believes it was because of mortals that some of his host fell, but he is trying to mingle in with modern society to help guide these unworthy, ignorant fools poor, misled mortals back onto the right path!! Specifically without any of his contempt and bitterness showing through, but that's easy when he's so great and mortals are so... very themselves. He currently works in Yoru's bakery as a cover.

Aaryn specifically serves under the goddess of muses, Yuliore, and is an angel of inspiration and creativity. This means he can sense what inspires others and has the ability to amplify their creativity and drive. He can get Just A Bit heated about his aspects and carried away rather easily, especially when it comes to helping those Poor Souls who are lacking in them.
