A quartz soldier who gave up on violence and a quartz soldier who wishes to keep fighting but can't. This is the interest dynamic connecting them yet also driving apart.

They usually meet in the rehabilitation department anytime Citrine goes through a bad seizure, needs a checkup or generally feels a bit down. The presence of another quartz makes Citri feel more at home, preventing her from avoiding these visits all together.

Besides physical treatment, Albi also creates a safe space where Citri can briefly vent her other troubles or get comforting hugs (a thing tough citrine like her only accepts from her or Tourmaline).

There is no denying their different approach to fighting creates a tension between them. Citri is logically jealous of Albi's relatively good health condition and sometimes considers her pacifism as cowardice.

Albi, who believes Citrine is deep down a very loving and good person, wishes she wasn't as brainwashed by the empire's military and saw herself as a worthy individual. The fact that she spends most of her time around Watermelon is another thing Amethyst is rightfully concerned about. She despises Melon's ruthlessness and positive view on violence, but cannot hide that just like her, Melon is trying their best to treat Citri the nicest way possible, helping to raise her spirit, confidence, and self-love.

Being the closest friends of Tourmaline, it's impossible for these two not to spend time together. They usually don't go out if Melon is unable to join, but still appreciate each other enough to be called buddies.

Despite the different social energy levels, originating from a military background helps them stay on the same note with their interests and activities. Citri also makes sure Heli (and Melon) doesn't create any embarrassing scenes in public caused by her free-spirited nature.

As surprising as it is, Citrine deep down doesn't actually mind Heliodor's impetuous mischiefs, in fact, she seems to get a strange sense of nostalgia from them, almost as it reminded her of someone she used to know...

Due to their professions, Citri and Star mostly work on different outposts and rarely get the chance to interact. If they meet, it's usually thanks to Tourmaline who seeks their combined guidance in diplomatic emergencies.

Being the oldest, most experienced gems among their group makes them great counselors who shouldn't be messed with. They're also extremely loyal to those who are closest to them, which they both highly respect on one another.

They enjoy sharing company and gossips about any melancholic theme in existence. The only personality difference between them is that while Star accepts tragic fades without any resistance, Citri still tries to find a solution or even fight them head-on.

Citrine and Watermelon knew one another since the war on Earth, making them the longest lasting friendship in the whole main six group.

They reunited shortly after the war near Homeworld's abandoned underground complex and stayed together with other semi-corrupted quartzes in hiding. Once the post-war politics calmed down, they ran into another problem: Citrine's work deployment. It was later find out that post-corrupted Citri no longer meets the requirements needed for her variety, classifying her as undesirable worth harvesting.

Of course, after all these years protecting one another, Melon would never allow such thing, which forced them to seek any legally questionable loopholes in Homeworld's system that could potentially save her. At last, one was found, leading to Watermelon becoming Citri's new legal owner.

Their relationship stands on a solid foundation of knowing each other's gem variety very well even before they actually met. Their passion for combat and sense of having a loyal ally strengthens their bond, despite how little they admit it in public. In fact, Melon secretly looks up to Citry, wishing to be just as good in a close combat as her.

While Melon treats Citri as one of their own, Citri still sees herself as the socially inferior and on rare occasions still acts too formal around them. Thankfully, she has learned to ignore this social habit over the years.

The only serious disagreement between these two is what each of them views as defective. While Melon sees everything important to them as correct, Citri usually thinks it's profoundly wrong (especially corruption).

Despite not knowing one another too well, they don't mind each other's presence. Occasionally, they meet in Albi's office or at regular guard checks, but otherwise don't have a reason to interact.

For Citrine, Grey is just another zircon, being special only by how closely she worked with semi-corrupted gems in the past.

While Citri's intimidating mask does strike Grey with anxiousness, she's also relieved to know that having her around insures Heliodor doesn't do anything too stupid or dangerous.

A corrupted reinforcer of justice vs an inexperienced representative of law. After further examination, it's easy to see why they look alike. Despite never directly interacting, the presence of Watermelon in their lives connects them, no matter if they like it or not.

While Garnet despises Citri for being one of the closes gems to her sworn enemy, she acknowledges it's Citri who always stops Tourmaline from taunting her in the public and tries to apologize for their behavior.

The only time Citrine had anything against her was while Garnet was associated with the organization their group was fighting. Otherwise, she feels very neutral. After years of training under her Hessonite, Citri naturally respects those above her and doesn't wish to get in trouble for disobeying them.

❗ TW: ABUSE ❗

Citri was one of many citrines who fell under Hessonite's commands. She also volunteered for Hessonite's advanced training program, promising to teach regular gems behave and fight in a way perfect cuts would. Along with other rookies, she had spent X years in this training.

Saying Hessonite influenced Citri's life is an understatement. Knowledge of elbaites, Homeworld's tunnel system, environmental combat and many more are the results of the training program. What Citri doesn't mention, however, is both the physical and mental pressure put on her by the commander that she still holds today.

Hessonite, as well as her agates, are no strangers to physical punishments. Anytime a soldier misbehaves, miserably fails a task, or even speaks too loudly, a sharp blade and punches are ready to be unleashed. Occasionally, there isn't a reason to begin with. Hessonite especially isn't a fan of the humorously chatty quartz personality, forcing her advanced citrines to behave against their nature. Because of this, all her best soldiers act like the same dull, quiet, loyal, apathetic, patient, self-critical and serious war machines... Including Citri.

After all those years, Citri no longer recalls all the instances she was abused by her general. In fact, she wrongly accepts her actions were justified, idolizing Hessonite for the skills she taught her. Even then, some level of traumatized fear still lives deeply inside her, explaining Citri's lawful obedience towards high-raking gems and negative self-loading when she fails something.

As for Hessonite's feelings... -There aren't any. She always viewed Citri as one of her countless soldiers, barely remembering her existence as an individual. If it wasn't for the corruption, she might have not known her at all.
