Detailed info

1. She can predict future events about gems/objects around her (more info in "gem species" section).

2. Like any other sapphire, Star is able to use cryokinesis that's often subconsciously tided to her current emotions.

3. Levitation is another natural skill of sapphires. Unfortunately, Star's corruption greatly damaged this ability, making it not worth using.

Other talents

1. Negotiation

2. Knowledge of astronomy

3. Gardening

Overall (3%)

As much as she likes to say, Star wasn't affected by corruption too much. Besides worse control over her cryokinesis and levitation powers, her look is the only thing that changed.

She can no longer shapeshift gloves, her iris and previously six-pointed star pupil changed shape. Weird stripe markings also appeared on her skin, which were most likely caused by corruption transmission from some unstable agate.

Star also likes to claim the corruption significantly affected her future vision accuracy. Although her abnormal vision inaccuracy has been proven true, the measured data don't seem to follow this hypothesis. It's much more likely that this phenomenon is solely caused by her extreme pessimism and a complete lack of self-esteem and self-believe.

Trivia

  • She was originally going to be a red sapphire, but after some digging in irl mineralogy stuff I realized that red sapphires are literally called rubies (what a bruh moment).
  • I never wanted to create a sapphire oc. I was "forced" to it by one SU amino leaders, who automatically gave new members gemstones (for roleplaying purposes) based of their birthstones, mystic charts, zodiac, etc... Nowadays I think her "unwanted origin" perfectly fits to who she is and what she represents.
  • Rn I'm not on good terms with this oc. Ngl, seeing the number of favs and art she's getting gives me an anxiety. Ig me and her have a toxic relationship or something- we cannot stand one another but cannot let go either.

I lack the strength for fighting, not to mention that I was never a particular fan of such things. However, I can still understand that in certain situations, it is necessary for achieving the greater good.

Opinion towards

The diamonds: "I don't get it. Why are they treating our situation like this? There must be something much more complicated going on behind the scenes."

Prime council: "Despite being older than I, their wisdom still shines just as bright as White Diamond herself. They're an everlasting example of what other garnets should become. Let the light guide their way."

Crystal gems: "Saving organic life, how naive. They clearly forgot the process of our creation. Their existence is already an oxymoron."

The war: "How foolish must one be to start a civil war against their own empire? So many lives were wasted..."

Earth: "The circumstances around my arrival to Earth were questionable. I traveled along the only white court gems on the colony. There was a pair of topazes, a rutile, a kakortokite, and a hawk eye. They registered themselves as my escort in front of the officers, but immediately vanished once the necessary administration was over. Whatever their deal was, it's clear they had me as their decoy."

Cross-gem fusions: "If only they were just a fable."

Corruption: "What an unfortunate curse. All of it was so easily avoidable..."

Oldest memory: "I recall days star rubies, diopsides, as well as other gems with asterism were roaming the streets. Everything was humble, simple, quiet, and less crowded. Famous garnets either freshly scrawled out of the ground or hadn't been created. Additionally, my empress used to hold public speeches. In a way, it was wonderful."

Being an old model: "Moving forward and leaving unnecessary things behind is a natural process for any evolution, including the one of our kind... What do you mean I didn't answer your question? *freezes a little* You know what- just forget it."

Modern sapphires: "Look at their modest and modern dresses, the way they always smile and calmly laugh. (They must be laughing at me). Everybody likes them, treats them well, wants their company and wisdom... I can do that too... I'm older than most of them so... I-I should be the one who knows more, (right?)... Then why does everyone act so differently to us...? They- they-... Ruined us- (And it's not even their fault...)."

Star palace: "No need to remind me, I'm well aware they all despise me now. They just won't say it to my face. (Hmm?) "Do I miss that place?" Well... I don't really know."

Organic life: "Admittedly, it is pretty to look at. Personally, I have nothing against keeping a few specimens alive, but we shouldn't sacrifice our kind's prosperity in the process."

Resistant to

  • Cold environments: Although gems in general don't have to worry about hypothermia, it doesn't mean they feel comfortable in extreme blizzards. Star is thanks to her cryokinesis completely immune.

Fears & weak points

  • Being forgotten, replaced or abandoned: Years of isolation and limited social interaction in the Star palace made her overly sensitive to these feelings. She's trying to avoid them as much as possible.
  • Judgement: The inner feeling of being flawed consumes her from the inside. She is in fact her own harshest judge. Any additional criticism just reinforces the ugly beliefs she has about herself for a long time.
  • Crowds of people: More eyes can possibly see her embarrassing moments. She doesn't want that.

Hobbies

  • Organizing: Putting everything in its place feels very satisfying for Star.

Goals

  • Serve the empire: As a good Homeworld gem, this task is the fundamental piece of her existence.
  • Be useful: She wants to prove that being outdated doesn't mean there's no use for her.

Pre-war

I few hundred years after her emerging, it was declared that all asteristic gems, which included star sapphires, will be no longer manufactured in kindergartens. Soon after, she and her kind was placed in the Star Palace, a lovely Homeworld facility for asteristic gems in "retirement".

The whole place was isolated from the rest of the empire, almost living in its own pocket dimension, and that came with some negative effects. For example, high ranking outsiders on special occasions organized tours around the palace complex, to see how Homeworld citizens looked and behaved many ages ago. This made Star feel like she's just some sort of an old shiny artifact for display, rather than an actual person. The fact, that besides some other sapphires, nobody was really interested in socialising and spending time with her made this unhealthy thought even stronger.
