Castle of Tunes is the second album by Japanese band Symphony it was released by Mitsugi Studios on June 1, 2019 with Castle of Tunes as it's lead single.
Background
On May 19, 2019, a concept trailer for Castle of Tunes was released, more than 2 hours before the Castle of Tunes was released, they held a pre-comeback show where they talk about spoilers and react to the teaser, the tracklist for the album is also released and the member talked about each tracks. 4th hour is another surprise music video, it's a music video to commemorate victims of the Nijioka hurricane, the hurricane happened at 4am and there were many victims, the music video has many references but it's main theme was lost, missing people and unexpected goodbyes just so that it can relate to any similar experiecnes.
Composition & Lyrics
The album opens with "Intro: Passion Flower" a song by Kelly, its a pop song that speaks of a blooming passion that Kelly has for dance, Kelly wrote the song just for this album and she did try to make it relevant to her character. As you would is an acoustic pop rock song that talks about missing someone and their small acts of kindness and moments of happiness they would do. 4th Hour is about reminiscing about someone that they lost at 4am, it is a ballad song that consist of mainly piano sounds. Their title track, Castle of Tunes is a trap pop song that uses a lot of chimes and organ sounds for a dark vibe, an 8D version has been released on their channel.
Carnival is a electronic trap song that has a lot of circus-like sounds using accordian and xylophones, the song talks about a carnival where they all go together as their safe space but they were afraid that once they grew old, this safe space will disappear so they would want to enjoy it while they can. Just for you is a hip hop, trap song that talks about showing a happy front despite being tired or sad, it's a very rap heavy song and despite it's sweet lyrics, the melody is fierce. Outro: Boss is a Hijiri edm solo song that mainly showcases more of his dance rather than musicality, the song was produced by both Percvial and Hijiri.
Another hidden track that wasn't revealed when the track list released, born lover is a song that continues with fate, Grey, Kelly, Percival and Hijiri had participated in writing their parts while Grey had taken part in the producing.
