Background
On December 7, the korean version of Castle of Tunes was released after an announcement from popular music video director Yang Seonghwa that he had just finished filming for a Japanese group but the group wasn't released until Teruko uploaded a selfie of the behind the scenes shot. The fans put two and two together and with the announcement from Grey and Kelly's vlive that a music video will be released, many believed that a korean version of Castle of tunes will be released at midnight. The fans were right, afterwards Mitsugi announced the album that will be released on the 25th with concept photos posted on their social media.
Monotone, a song fans thought was unofficial because of it's status as a soundtrack was released in the tracklist just 24 hours before it's release, there are also unexpected original songs, Present and Wings. The wings music video had a teaser on the 26th of January and the music video was released on the 2nd of February, the music video speaks of a possible explaination to what the Symphony their characters strive so hard to get in Castle of Tunes does with it's angelic yet also demonic storytelling.
Composition & Lyrics
The album starts with Intro: Monotone, a duet by Grey and Yuuko, an ost for the k-drama series: Colorful (The faithful day at Kinokonobe). It is a piano ballad genre song that focuses more on vocals than lyrism, both Grey and Yuuko sang in the ost. Castle of Tunes, korean version, had more choreography but it also showed extra scenes from the Symphony Universe plotline. Present, the original korean song is a trap, pop song that talks about receiving the present that is the fans and exchanging gifts out of love, it has a short animation done with the chorus done on the official IW profile of Symphony but the full version is not going to be released.
Wings however has a music video, it is a pop song that talks about their experiences on stage and the feeling of wanting to feel that feeling of flying forever, it is supposedly also related to the Symphony Universe not in the way of the lyrics but in the music video, with flashbacks from previous music videos and new scenes of them playing happily together.
