The Scholar

The erudite Scholar. Every time he opens his mouth, you can be certain something pompous and snobbish is coming out. He is constantly gloating about all the knowledge he has and No, He Is Not Sharing Any Of It. He's a pathetic, yet maybe a slightly endearing little bookworm. Although, that compass strapped to his side is quite the curiosity... you can't help but wonder where it is meant to lead to. He doesn't seem to know either, but it's important to him nonetheless.

Tempted into the void by promise of answers only to be stripped of everything... poetic, isn't it? He doesn't recall his past life at all. He can only yearn for answers he will never have, weighed down by questions and conclusions in a form that is so unsatisfying. Incomplete. No answer to the purpose of it all. He tries to mask this by pridefully boasting of what he does know, but just poke at his fallacies and it all comes tumbling down. In the end, there is nothing special about him. No answer that explains why he was left to live like this. Whether he chooses to let that define him or turn his eyes to the future instead of the past is, ultimately, up to him. What a tragic lesson.
