Chiyo Kumoshita

Publishing under the screen name "daybreak•dreamer" and best known for her cellphone novel "In The World That You Left Behind", Chiyo Kumoshita is also literally only known for this singular work! Shortly after her identity was revealed to the public, Chiyo stuttered something about this story being extremely personal to her - which makes sense, as her family runs a mortuary, and this thing is a meditation on grief and memory through the eyes of its teenage protagonist. Apparently, some people do find her writing moving and beautiful and what-have-you! No judgment here, we all have our crappy media vices. Other than that, she largely shuns the spotlight, but seems sweet enough… if more than a little naive.

Chiyo bills herself as a completely average person, some nobody with a constant sense of impostor syndrome. She's well-meaning and bright and somewhat endearingly, incredibly awkward, but she's a genuinely sweet person!... just also, as stated, awkward pretty much all of the time. As your lovely protagonist, Chiyo has been narratively tasked with interacting with everyone in the mansion. As a human person, this does not always go well, despite her best intentions. This said, she genuinely believes in the goodness of humanity, and wants to do her best to understand and sympathize with (almost) everyone as they unpack their situation, regardless of personal cost.
