PERSONALITY
Vaiherre is defined by control. His words are always measured; every motion is calculated and careful. He dislikes loud noise, and he hates chaos. He treats most others with aloof, disinterested disdain, though he's cordial with guests. He tends to be quiet, but decisive, direct, and firm. He doesn't get angry often, but you know when you've failed him regardless: he seethes. He's extremely no-nonsense, except when it comes to his silly little darling Oxalis.
BACKSTORY
Orchilox
Vaiherre was something special.
From they day he was born, he was exalted above his peers: his horns and tail marked him as born royalty. His caretakers told him he was destined to be a leader. After all, in all faculties, he was simply better. He knew better; he wanted better; he deserved better. As he grew older, he developed a taste for the finer things, things as special as himself, and this lead him, eventually, to Oxalis. They hit it off immediately, and she became his assistant, companion, and lover. She helped him cope with his endless tide of work, acting as his second hand, and helped him to relax and remember to enjoy himself.
But as time wore on, it wore him down. When he was far too young to choose, he was forced to make a decision: stay and rule with his feet firmly off the ground, or leave for the stars to explore. He chose to stay, but the years eroded him, and he began to yearn for what laid beyond his tired corridors. Duty, however, would not let him leave. He grew disinterested and withdrew from Oxalis, so she orchestrated guests. From the far-flung edges of the galaxies, she invited folks from all walks of life to meet him and converse. It helped--but only so much. Vaiherre's yearning grew; he couldn't get enough of their stories, and he started to neglect Oxalis. Neglect turned into bitterness and jealousy, and they began to fight at every turn.
Oxalis goes to Earth
After a particularly nasty fight, Oxalis declared he had enough. He needed a break, so he was going on a trip. He had said it would be short. He lied. Years have past since he abandoned Vaiherre. Yearning and loneliness gave way to worry, which in turn gave way to rage. He couldn't believe Oxalis had left. He had never given Oxalis permission to leave. So, he would not let Oxalis go. He acquired the contact information of a group of bounty hunters and paid them handsomely for Oxalis's return.
Until they brought her back, Vaiherre would wait, following the same paths through his palace he always has.
