Valentine's Links
The entire reason Valentine opened up shop at the mall was to help people fall in love. That's not just a job, it's his purpose in life. So when a sad, empty man walks into his store, Valentine knows exactly what to do. However, he didn't expect his cologne to have no effect on Chanse. Was it that the curse of loneliness was too strong around him? That was just unacceptable. So Valentine set his focus on enhancing his cologne, changing ingredients and making it better, and he always beckons Chanse over when the newest batch is done so he can try it out. Valentine absolutely won't rest until he's help that man find someone.
He'd only crave for the love and happiness he always wanted in his life since that accident that risked his whole future. Then another unfortunate event where he thought this quiet love life of his would last forever, instead she left him and disappeared that only left him with such meaningful last memories. He heard rumors of a small place where he overheard his coworkers, where they all had achieved their love life - Chanse figured he could try it out.
He left the store and then came back with no avail - a month later with the cologne all used up and there was no affect. Of course, Valentine had took notice of it - and he works hard to be able to grant Chanse's small wish.
Chanse wasn't really sure what he's doing - but the notable benefit is that he always smells good and gets it for free.
[Related] One day all of Valentine's workers noticed their boss acting strangely - which for him was saying something. He claimed to be in love with the most beautiful enchantress. After about a week, the workers learned that this strange attitude was caused by Valentine being accidentally sprayed with his own love potion perfume, making him fall for the lady. It took them time to take away the effects, but by then the woman Valentine "loved" was already pregnant with their daughter.
Valentine loves Valeria very much and guides her in everything romance and love, but having children was never something he expected to have, and it shows in the many time he spaces out and forgets something he had to do for her.
Valeria loves her dad, since she could only recall him as his only family member. Despite how careless and how much of a airhead his father is, she could only appreciate his existence.
Valentine is the boss of the cologne store Philip works at, though he's hardly a boss. Most of the time Philip is running the entire place AND looking after the lovable doofus. Perhaps the biggest thing Valentine loves about Philip, however, is his chest. He can't go a day without squeezing those large, firm man boobs. If he has a bad day, he'll often cheer himself up by burying his face in Philip's chest.
Philip considers Val as a very close friend and merely enjoys being with him the most, out of everyone he's acquainted with. He loves Valentine (platonic) so much that he doesn't mind that he's running the whole store himself or taking care of Valeria single-handedly while Valentine is being a complete doofus and ignores most of his roles.
He doesn't really know why his platonic companion adores his manly bosoms, but Philip finds it amusing to see him digging his face into his chest.
"Ah! Mi amor, you are, how they say, not as pretty as me! I am afraid I cannot marry you! But I can give you a cologne that smells like the pickles, non?"
"This is my cupid husband."
Valentine loves to go into Eros's cafe during his breaks and enjoy a nice latte. The foam art he gets is always so clever and neat! Sometimes he spends time with Eros, but any flirting is typically lost on the cupid. No, he'd much rather motorboat the other cupid's wonderful pecs.
Eros can't help but think that he and Valentine share a very similar type of personality. He loves the little love potion perfumes that the cupid makes and often uses it as an excuse to see him. Sometimes he feels the other man's gaze drift off towards his chest area, but he doesn't mind. He simply smirks and "unconsciously" reveals himself to Valentine. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
They're not necessarily rivals, though Valentine HATES when Ace finds faults with his perfumes and colognes. These were made - AND PERFECTED - after centuries of family recipes being passed down. They're undoubtedly far superior to the old love arrows, and have a much better chance at finding one's true love! Yet Ace is always trying to break up couples, what a horrible cupid!
They're not exactly rivals, though most of Ace's job is all about debunking the power of Valentine's perfumes and colognes. He himself is a little pessimistic about the idea of love forged through a love potion, so he pushes himself a little more when it comes to jobs revolved around Valentine.
Valentine has never been against the innovation for Cupid-kind. After all, he had a fair bit of controversy around him when he poured his love potions into his perfumes and colognes! An AI is a very adaptive and good idea in his opinion, and he's interested to see how it goes!
Sorrel is very grateful for its existence! It...doesn't really have a sense of smell, though, so it's difficult for it to evaluate how perfumes work. Always happy to assess bottles, though!
