The late Aeneas Malacoda went out the way all good Kingpins do: Being shot in the head during a dispute at a casino.

He was a great leader, and an excellent peacekeeper. He, Danois Charlemagne, and Barbariccia Draghignazzo kept watch over the greater area of both Varmonte and Moraine with little conflict, and very little foothold for any troublemakers. His wife, Magi, ensured that any trouble they did get into was swiftly swept under the nearest rug, and barely anybody had to be given the ol’ cement shoes treatment. It was a prosperous time for all.

And then, within only a couple of years of each other, he and Magi were gone. For a while, things were still alright, with Barbariccia taking over. He handled it well enough, but handed their casino in Moraine over to Danois and the Palsgrave, having to downsize their operation to just Varmonte.

Those who knew him noted him for his merciful nature, despite his tough rules. His son, Virgil, looked up to him greatly, and while he is now in his shoes, his managerial style is a lot less suave and traditional.
