Auburn is an extremely withdrawn individual, however he is clever, perceptive, and inherently kind. Socially awkward and quiet, he dislikes unnecessary jargon and prefers to be very, very blunt. He is secretive and it takes him a long time to invest in others, operating under the belief that he'll be betrayed or let down. Even though he hates social interaction, he's very brave and self-sacrificing to the point of recklessness.
Auburn has an eccentric and off-putting personality. He's quite melancholic due to his trauma, prone to depression and anxiety, and inclined towards arrogance due to his high intelligence, his power, and lack of faith. It takes a long time before Auburn will admit he was wrong about something. He has an unshakeable resolve. Auburn will burden himself with responsibilities and tasks to the point of self-harm, all because he believes that he can do it better than others.

Auburn is one of only three surviving members of the clan of Abersoch, which formally existed on Hammerhead Island, a largely deserted island in the middle of the ocean.
Auburn was born into a large family and had six older sisters, in addition to an extended clan that lived on Hammerhead Island. Hammerhead Island used to be covered in a lush forest, up until Ursa Heart and her sisters razed the island to the ground. Ursa destroyed everything, including every member of the Abersoch clan, except for Auburn, and, unknown to him, two of his sisters, Auda and Adri.
Unaware that Auburn had survived, Auda and Adri were quick to flee Hammerhead Island. Auburn went into hiding until Ursa and her sisters left, and emerged to find that the whole island's forest had been completely destroyed, and he was alone. Only four at the time, he was left to survive.
Since the island had become virtually uninhabitable after the Heart sisters' attack, Auburn struggled to survive and almost starved to death. He would've died if not for a pact he formed with a spirit of sustenance called Arnesh. Arnesh, too, was dying, so they fused with Auburn to help him survive. This had the side effect of altering his mind and giving Auburn incredible godlike and difficult to control powers.
Auburn largely spent the next few years guarding the graves of the people who died in the massacre. This came to an end when, one day, he saw a ship off the coast and went over to see if they had any food he could take. He ended up falling asleep in a sack of potatoes. When he was discovered by the crew and accused of being a stowaway, he was saved from being thrown overboard by Torah and Siddhartha.
Unsure of how to get back to Hammerhead Island, Auburn accompanied the siblings to their final destination, a community called Werlock where they hoped to settle down and live a peaceful life. He mostly crashes at other animals' places, and provides medical treatment to whomever needs it.

Torah is like Auburn's adopted older sister. She does her best to try to engage him with other people and make sure that he's looking after his basic needs. They have common ground in their intelligence and temperament. He's very attached to her due to the loss of his biological sisters.
Siddhartha is like Auburn's adopted brother. He has an amiable relationship with him, thanks to Siddhartha's charisma, although he finds it hard to take him seriously.
Auburn and Sedna are kindred spirits, though they don't admit it. Since they're both very intelligent and share interests, they spend a lot of downtime together, though Auburn never falls for Sedna's manipulation tactics, something she secretly apprecates.
Fabu is Auburn's 'handler.' Whenever Auburn crosses personal boundaries and makes other people uncomfortable, Fabu is the one to corral him, be it a quiet rebuff or tackling him to the ground. Their friendship is one of silent understanding, rather than outward displays of affection.
Auburn implicitly trusts Ginger and is one of the few animals aware of his checkered past, and to not judge him for it. Ginger is one of the few individuals willing to tolerate Auburn's stranger habits.
Auburn has a favourable opinion of Auda and Adri, since they are all creepy loners. Auda and Adri can be overbearing and Auburn tends to keep them at a distance.
