Personality: Claude is generally rather whiny and quick to voice how much he's not enjoying something or how much he dislikes a project or idea. He's not very patient, which often leads to his inventions being poorly made or with serious design flaws. He's generally considered to be a brat by his fellow elves, a label he detests as he likes to remind the others that he's not a child anymore despite his childish behavior. Because of his, Claude more often than not wants to prove himself to his peers and show them he's capable and strong. Claude tends to get angry and annoyed easily, but occasionally struggles to express himself when he is genuinely happy. He doesn't share a strong passion for science or a hatred of magic like his co-worker Vivi, and instead just appears to not know what else to do during his forced employment in the evil organization. It's implied that he doesn't share the passion for evil that most of the other elves have embraced and instead just goes along with Glades's plans to survive. He occasionally finds himself bewildered by his peers' stranger antics.

History: Like the other elves, Claude once lived a peaceful life until his home was invaded by Glades and he was forced to work for her alongside his fellow elves. In SAC, Claude ended up working as a scientist/inventor alongside fellow elf Vivi, but he occasionally has expressed a desire that he worked in a different section of the evil organization instead. He doesn't encounter the heroes for awhile, but eventually becomes a recurring antagonist of theirs.

Current-Bio: Claude currently works for SAC alongside his fellow elves. While he does have his own personal minion like the other elves, he usually goes to fight the heroes with Vivi more often than not.

Meta-History: As I mentioned in Vivi's bios, I accidentally forgot about Claude and for some reason believed that he was just an early version of Cyrus until I rediscovered this drawing in an old sketchbook Elf Headshots Before I found this drawing, I definitely remember Claude more than Vivi, who I had forgotten about completely, and for some reason I just thought that Claude was a Cyrus prototype. As I mentioned originally in Cyrus's meta history section, Claude was partially inspired by a character of the same name in a comic called Hollow Fields, which I borrowed from a friend in 8th grade. In theory, early versions of Claude and Matchi were created around this time, and both were originally intended to be a bit younger than the other elves with Matchi in school with the heroes and Claude being a younger brat. However, the elves are now adults in the current version of the story, and while Matchi is still technically one of the youngest they're all still close in age. Having Claude be closer in age to the others now is a bit weird since he disappeared before this change originally but I gotta keep it consistent with the new lore. It's also notable that before I had fully decided that the elves were...elves, Claude was sometimes depicted as a horned humanoid in some drawings and a catboy in others, and he's the only elf to have been both back in the day.

Relationships with Other Characters:

Vivi: Claude considers Vivi to be very annoying, but for some reason he's closest to her out of the elves and works with her the most.
