Bernadette Mirabilis

Bernadette is a cunning, egotistical, and playfully manipulative vampire who seems to have only evolved in some moral upstandings and nothing more. She much prefers to stay cooped up in her beautiful mansion, living in her own world with her 3 siblings that lived through the Romanian ambushes, though this has made her sheltered from the true state of modern technology. She believed humans outside her mansion have no entertainment or fun to provide her with, taking more of a pleasure of inviting humans and tourists into her home, and subjecting them to her own riddles, games, and if they dare to accept, spars in the courtyard, all for her personal entertainment. She tends to rig some of the games, hoping for an exciting twist where the other party realizes her bluff, but such has never happened before; of course, in her egotistical fashion, she does not complain about winning. She eagerly waits for the day where someone can outplay her or truly amaze her, but until then, those who fail to entertain her fall to a very unfortunate fate...paying full price for the mansion stay, instead of free! Ahh, and if she's desperate for blood, she'll use them as personal bloodbags and lock them up in her lower chamber as well, but her cravings for blood right from the arteries come only one in a while, so don't worry! She loves to lavish in her glory days as the shining heroine for Greece's vampire population. Though she has relatively calmed down in comparison to her extremely bloodthirsty and aggressive past and tries to keep it leveled, she still can occasionally succumb to what she dubs her "raw side" and will absolutely relish in an opportunity to spar in combat, or have a desire to seek humans out to feast on. She tends to be rather impulsive whenever she believes it's appropriate, and can even be pouty if not agreed with or if someone is too busy for her. She's the beautiful heroine of Greece, everyone should always have time to bring her amusement! While she is incredibly egotistical, she does have heart, never berates humans for being human, only ever criticizing the times they don't entertain her. She also gets lonely and can get flustered with topics such as love and friendship. She gets exceptionally embarrassed and defensive when her lack of social skills are brought up by her siblings.

After exposure to Ruru and Laos, who were the first people to actually entertain her for longer than a few minutes, she became more adventurous and started to go outside more, whether during the day with her favorite parasol and sun hat, or at night, soaking in the nightlife and the atmosphere of humans. She realizes that her siblings were correct in the evolution of humans, and admits that "Miss Human Orikasa" has caused some sort of psychological change in her that makes her enjoy toying with humans not just from her comfort of her home, but outside as well. She also grows a penchant for overseas traveling, constantly going to Kanzakai with her siblings and whatever other country she pleases every two months, with a cooldown of one month in between. She constantly uses the excuse that she is "renovating" for any customers that have interest in booking in with her, to keep sales up. This somehow has not failed and collapsed on them...

She also claims that "the current state of Camelie" has caused a psychological change in her as well, saying that even she has begun to idealize and value all human cycles, namely life and death, and muses to herself if deep down, maybe she wishes she could live like a "commoner" as well? While she brags about her eternal life and loves her identity as a vampire, the more she is surrounded by humans after Ruru, the more saddened she becomes, knowing she will outlive them. It hits her harder when she realizes Laos, someone who her court considered a valued person, no longer has eternal life and even the formally eternal war traitor will die when Ruru passes on. Goodness, she doesn't even want to think about her new favorite human dying! Until that bridge is crossed, she tries not to overwhelm herself with such thoughts, and enjoys what she has right here, right now. When they're gone for real, she will swear that she'll be right behind them.

Ah, right, while Bernadette is riddle smart and even book smart (and brags about this,) she is completely hopeless with modern common sense, and is clearly very outdated on many things when she explores the outside. Her sense of humor is dry and quite dark and surreal, and she criticizes yet is unreasonably excited at human activities. Even something as small as going to the convenience store or ordering food, she'll go on a tangent about how commoners have truly become innovative even with such poor lifestyles (she has not realized what modern day economic classes consist of yet shh) and then want to try it for herself, with sudden heightened excitement. She has the "old as dirt" syndrome as Wakadori, Suzume, and Takano where she is way too easily entertained by modern life than she will admit, saying that her standards are astronomically high, but they truly are not. Since she is adapting to so many new things, outside of her siblings, she also has to rely on her new found favorite people to help her and guide her through whatever she doesn't understand. holy fuck dude ruru and laos are already earth shattering autistic together DO WE NEED A THIRD AUTIST
