Marlena (Black Nettle Jelly)'s Links
I don't know how to feel about the fact that Claudia makes a competent leader. But at least I still get to be the stronger one, both on the stage and against monsters~
Ballet was always her thing, more than mine... And she's great at school, and pretty much everything else she does. It's like, I get it, lol. But, watch! I'm good at something, too.
Best friend in the ballet troupe, and an excellent gossip source! She's off her game at practice lately, though. I get why, but I haven't approached her about anything yet, because she's prone to blowing her top if you're too direct... she already opened up to me a little bit I don't wanna poke the hornet's nest with more questions, and asking Natasha would just make things worse...
I'm glad Marlena didn't ditch me after... y'know. She's a little distant with me during practice to spare Natasha's feelings, though, ugh. Betrayal. Kinda makes me wanna quit, to be honest, and stick to hanging out at school. But that's just exactly what everyone wants, isn't it?! For me to just be isolated from everyone else...
Ugh... if it weren't for Imogen, I might have really decided to take my chances as a solo, by now. Or I'd just be a goner, altogether! She's gotten me out of almost as many scrapes as Claudia (don't tell Claudia I said that). Wish I could have stolen Imogen with me to be a duo, haha!
You could call her my best customer, hehe. Of course I'm happy to help~ *...stifles mild crush*
Our newest member. Claudia and everyone else is super protective of her for some reason and it drives me nuts. What did she do to earn that? Look at Purple Stripe, she's putting in the effort! I never said Flower had to join ballet or anything, but the babying is too much for me...
On my first day as a Magical Girl, Marlena pointed her rapier at me for some reason or another, and I flinched because I didn't know what her powers were yet, and duh, sword in my face. Of course I know she wouldn't have USED them on me, but still! Sword in my face! Anyway, I think she was testing me or something, and I musta failed, because ever since she's kinda looked disappointed at me... Imogen, help!!!
She's not in our ballet company so I don't know her too well yet. Kinda kooky, but tends to get the job done as an MG, so I'm not complaining.
I think she and Clauds have SOME kinda beef with each other, but I don't really know what it is, just that they go further back than Claudia and I do since I'm not in their lil ballet clique. At least she's pretty inclusive to us non-ballet nerds, otherwise. Except for Flower for some reason...
Second only to me in terms of ballet passion, which I respect! She even sticks to the bit during patrols, almost to a fault... I know we're doing a kind of performance with the whole Magical Girl gig, but I worry you're too in your head, girl! Is Claudia gonna do anything about this?...
Marlena is my role model in ballet, but she lets herself get a little rough and loose as a Magical Girl. Not sure how I feel about that!
She's newer to the ballet troupe, and joined after becoming an MG, at the suggestion of our manager. Something about team bonding, I think. Or maybe just branding. I wasn't actually expecting any of the newbies to follow through on that, to be honest, so I'm a little impressed that someone did. I'm happy to show her the ropes, but I'm worried she won't stick with ballet after aging out...
I think Marlena can tell I'm not as gung-ho about ballet as she is, haha. Our manager suggested it so I figured I'd give it a shot. It's... really hard. Not sure I'm cut out for it, since I'm kinda clumsy, and a bunch of these girls have been doing it since they were little. I like being a magical girl more, but I don't DISLIKE ballet... I'll give it some more time. Marlena is being pretty patient with me, after all.
Of Claudia, Natasha, and Myrrh, I'd probably most wanna follow Myrrh's example if I was leader of my MG team... They're really strong! And definitely show a different side to themselves than during ballet. I see them featured in the DU all the time, and their powers are especially fun to watch.
I wanted to recruit Marlena when I heard she was looking to go solo so we'd have someone with some firepower and experience to replace Aofie, but I never found a good way to approach Marlena about it, especially with both Natasha and Aofie both somehow still in our company. Both our managers and our ballet instructor assured me that would be a huge dumpster fire of conflicts, anyway... sigh.
She always had her head in the clouds during practice but I didn't want her GONE or anything...
She takes her craft really seriously and I respect that. I wonder what being on Team Jelly would have been like...
Man, now that's THREE troupe members that get to be leaders of MG teams and none of them are ME!!! RUDE. Still... I haven't talked to her much since the whole falling out with Aofie... hope she's ok. I think Aofie kinda exaggerated Tasha's part in that whole mess because Aofie is... Aofie... but Natasha barely comes anymore, so I'm not sure what to do about it.
Ugh. Marlena noticed the awkwardness between Aofie and I at ballet practice and pulled me aside about it. I was almost about to quit, actually, but she somehow convinced me to stay with that darned charisma of hers, ha. Really, she's a good person, but she doesn't know what happened, except for mostly just Aofie's side of the story, and I don't think she understands what Aofie is like as a Magical Girl. I just hope Mar's not taking it personally if I'm not coming in as much, because I really can't be around Aofie...
A ballerina that recently joined the younger age group. I'll probably have graduated by the time she moves up to our group, which is a shame! I know her a little through Myrrh and the rest of Team Fairy, and she seems like a fun kid.
Mom let me join ballet after Faye and I got to see Myrrh, Natasha, Aofie, and Elise in a show, but wow, Marlena was SO good!!! AND she's a Magical Girl, too... Wow... Maybe when I'm grown up we can be in a show together...
