🎭 Personality
Ed Gates is a very intimidating and grumpy father. He has no social life outside of his neighbours and co-workers at the construction sites.
Ed is stubborn and doesn’t adapt well to change. He is not very bright or emotionally aware and is technology illiterate.
Ed finds it extremely difficult to relate to his son Wayne. Ed detests all of Wayne’s nerdy interests such as anime, video games, toys and technology. The two tend to stay out of each other’s way whenever possible.
He loves his wife Cleo very much, but they often fight over how to parent their son. This fighting has diminished since Wayne moved to Canvasville to work with Jaycee and Cat Canada at the Jaycee Pawman Squad.

As a Tooniverse denizen, Ed has the typical biology and abilities of a fictional human character. He can pull items from behind her back… but only when it’s funny!
Ed Gates is an undead zombie. He loses and disfigures parts of his body often, but they are easily sewn back together. He is energized by electrical shocks.
🔍 History
Ed Gates was the high school sweetheart of Cleo Gates. They married early and birthed a totally normal human child named Wayne Gates. Nobody knows how this was possible.
Ed was a very "tough love" father to Wayne, and was often dissapointed in Wayne's odd behaviours that his wife enabled. Ed’s and Cleo's differences in parenting caused a lot of arguments between the two.
Ed and Cleo wanted Wayne to birth grandchildren, but that dream was dashed when Wayne died and became a ghost.

The name “Ed” comes from the word "dead".
