Thomas is a real family man: he's a stay-at-home dad for this three young kids (Jacqui, Gretchen, Oliver), and a web developer who works out of his home office. He's kind of harried, but he adores his kids and his life, even if he's put his own dreams to the side for their sake.
He also loves the ugly duckling of his nest, his 20-year-old blue-haired "child." Thomas is a friend of Bane's, in the sense that Bane is the stray cat that Thomas and his wife Vicki sometimes let in the house for a shower and a hot meal. Bane isn't quite trusted to watch the kids alone, but the couple is fond of him, and Thomas likes having him for company.

Thomas is a big, soft guy with kind eyes and a friendly face. He has very dark brown hair almost to his shoulders, and a chinstrap beard.
