The second number retired by the Swamp Dragons was #51, for Sam Yuke. The Toronto native manned center field for eight seasons for Prince George before spending years all over the league. But PG brought him home for his final season in 2038, to retire a Swamp Dragon. Yuke was the 5th overall pick in the 1st round when he was drafted, and over his long career he earned 7 Platinum Stick awards, 2 Great Gloves, 2 MVPs, 10 All-Star nominations, 3 Canada Series rings, and 1 Canada Series MVP.
Sam was a guy full of enthusiasm and personality, a fan favorite wherever he called home.
