Notes

  • Though he can't stand his dad forcing him to play piano he actually did become quite good at it and still does play occasionally....though never when his dad is around (what a spiteful bitch XD)
  • He looks older and bigger than the average senior in high school because he is...he's at least 19 or 20 (he missed a whole school year during that move from Canada to the US)
  • There's nothing wrong with his eye, he just wears the patch for the pirate aesthetic, and is always switching which eye he wears it over
  • This creep has one of Wolf's teeth and keeps it in his pocket as a sort of good luck charm...which Wolf is currently unaware of
  • Deep down he's actually a bit insecure and worries about graduating high school...what if there's someone better than him when he tries out for a college team? what if he can't be captain anymore? (if he makes it at all!) These fears keep him up at night. XD

Jean-Luc Descheneaux

Appearance

Hair: Obviously went to the barber and said "just fuck me up", his hair is dyed silver (naturally a light brown), and cut into a messy, uneven mohawk, and usually "swooped" sideways

Eyes: Grey, both the pupils & iris are always very small

Build: Broad shoulders, muscular build (but more on the lean side, not bulky), strong legs and arms. He's meant to have kind of exaggerated, comic book superhero type anatomy where his waist is pretty thin compared to how wide his top half is.

Scars/Body Modifications/Other distinguishing features: Probably has a few scars here and there, but nothing that really stands out

Clothing: He would rarely be seen in anything but his hockey uniform in anything I draw, along with the eye patch, but outside of the game he wears sleeveless shirts or tank tops with jeans or shorts. (And unlike standard hockey jerseys his is short-sleeved!)

Personality

Disposition: To most people he's pretty much a one-dimensional "bad guy" type, who seems to enjoy being a dick just for the hell of it. (Which is exactly how he wants people to know/see him as.) The only time he ever smiles or laughs is when he's causing trouble for others. He takes sports very seriously, but absolutely hates to lose, and isn't above cheating or playing dirty in order to win. He's extremely bossy and demanding of his teammates, and refuses to take orders from anyone else. He's also "all business", and doesn't want or need many "friends": most of his teammates are nothing more than that to him and he doesn't talk much about anything to them outside of sports. It can be assumed he would be more open with people he's close to, but he doesn't let anyone close enough to find out. (And outside of hockey he is fairly well-read and more intelligent than one might expect...he likes to read when he's not playing!)

Mannerisms:9617242_15CCWtjIUUsJjFU.png Being tall as he is he likes to intimidate others by looming over them, looking all evil and menacing. Unsurprisingly, he has resting bitch face and his default facial expression is a disparaging sneer. When pissed off he may threaten people with the back of his hand, as if he's going to slap them. He's rather haughty in that snooty, stereotypical Frenchman sort of way tbh...doing things such as turning up his nose at people, rolling his eyes, and generally thinking he's better than everyone else.

Voice: Scary. As expected. XD We're talking like...the kind of voice you'd imagine narrating a horror movie. It's deep and gruff and literally like a Don LaFontaine type of voice. (But French is his first language, so you have to imagine it with a strong French-Canadian accent. XD) He usually speaks calmly, though he does have a tendency to snap and suddenly shout at people...which is startling af and might cause ppl to pee themselves a little. He almost NEVER swears (and if he does it will be in French), but his insults are still pretty hurtful nonetheless. Hearing "you worthless SCUM!" being shouted in THAT voice of his is quite upsetting.

Background

Originally from Canada, Jean-Luc is an only child raised by a single father, who is a concert pianist. From a very young age his father pushed him into learning piano too even though it didn't interest Jean-Luc much, and at around the age of 9 or 10 he started becoming rebellious and would just bang his fists into the keys and refused to play. Thinking his son had lost his mind (when he really just didn't want to play the damn piano anymore XD) he tried finding an outlet for all his pent-up aggression, and hockey ended up being the perfect fit. Gradually, he also just accepted that his son wasn't going to follow in his footsteps and allowed him to keep playing the sport he clearly loved. But rather than "cure" him of his rage problem hockey seemed to fuel it instead, and while he played well he also enjoyed intentionally hurting other players and getting into fights. It eventually got bad enough that he was booted off the team, and they moved to New Jersey in his mid teens, where Jean-Luc could find a new school/team to join (since his dad was literally afraid of him at this point and won't argue against his big mean beast of a son. ) It wasn't long at all before he was captaining a new team (the Pirates) at a new school, and kicking ass just as he had before. And ever since they played against Wolf's in the 11th grade he has seemingly had some vendetta against them, thinking it was a joke that their "amazing" team would even be put up against such trash! And not only did they completely annihilate the Bears (Wolf's team XD), but he left poor Wolf with a permanent scar and some missing teeth to remember him by too. Of course, the Pirates went on to win the championship that year, and just about everyone is betting they'll go on to do the same next year, too...

Evgeny teammate

If Jean-Luc had to choose a "favorite" teammate, Evgeny would be it. In addition to him being the best goalie he's ever known he appreciates his no-nonsense attitude and calm, quiet demenor, in contrast with how rowdy and/or irritating the rest of the team can be. He is also the only one he ever spends any time with outside of sports, and they get along quite well!

Sasha teammate

He could care less what anyone else thought about having a female player on their team, she plays well and will stop at nothing to win, and that's literally all that matters to him. In addition to her skill he also appreciates that they have some similarities personality-wise, and unlike most of his other teammates he respects her enough to listen to her and give her some say in things...just so long as she doesn't disagree with him.

Wolf rival

[Insert "if it weren't for the laws of this land I would've slaughtered you" image here] It honestly pisses him off (and secretly makes him feel a little insecure...) that he knocked his teeth out and Wolf STILL doesn't seem intimidated by him. How can he be so cocky?! His team is TERRIBLE!! Je te déteste! *spits in his direction*

Taylor teammate

Jean-Luc isn't the type to laugh very often, but he came damn near close when this scrawny little rich kid came in, demanding to join the team. He would've turned Taylor (and his money) away but...he was big enough to admit he actually has skills and truly does deserve a place on the team.
