Joule

Joule is a Layazero, who willingly joined the Metamo crew almost immediately after it was created. Very small and very speedy, Joule is great at handling planets whose gravity is low and launches are powerful- particularly, of course, their home planet, which is so fast that the other crewmembers have a hard time keeping up! Being from a holographic, possibly-illusory planet, they themselves seem to be only halfway tangible, appearing fully opaque and physical but occasionally "glitching" and even being capable of teleporting around the ship, even through walls!

When stressed, Joule will begin to lose control over their physical form, glitching much more frequently, occasionally teleporting involuntarily, and beginning to appear semi-transparent in places. Under particularly extreme stress, Joule will panic, and may disappear entirely. Like all Layazeroes, the heart-patterned disk in the center of their chest seems to be the true "core" of their being, and is left behind when Joule phases out of existence, simply clattering to the ground. It seems that Joule is not consciously aware of anything at all while they're gone; when they reform they'll often come back into existence with quite a start.

Joule is very friendly and outgoing, and loves to chat with the other Metamo crewmembers, but is particularly good friends with Echo. The two of them both share an interest in music, and spend a fair bit of their time together in Echo's room, messing around with music programs.
