Personality

Angelica is a girl made entirely of sugar. She wears a smile wherever she goes as she strives to spread her joy to the world. She adjusts her energy with those around her as to make them feel comfortable and at home. No matter who she meets, Angelica will leave no one without sharing a little happiness. It can look like a simple compliment, a warm hug, lending a helping hand, or the gesture of a little gift. Angelica puts her best self forward to help others out of the goodness of her heart. She can be shy and dismissive accepting kind gestures from others. Being the center of attention gives her a little stage freight, leaving her to behave awkwardly and dismiss her good deeds as nothing special. It leaves her feeling a little guilty sometimes, but she could never bring herself to turn down gifts and kind gestures recieved from others. Angelica grows sentimental attachment to those gifts and the memories that come with them. Every now and then, she would bring up memories that move her just to let someone know how much she appreciates and cares for them.

With a heart of gold for people, this puts Angelica at risk of being a people-pleaser to the wrong crowd. She puts unrealistic expectations onto herself of being the ideal perfect person to everyone and must maintain that image to be liked and make people happy. She is against using violence or harsh language unto others even if that's the only way to stand up for what's right. To avoid being accused as a mean and selfish person, Angelica puts the needs of others first. Even if someone does something wrong, she would excuse them for just making simple mistakes and forgive them. She tries not to be too firm when she corrects others, but it sets her off when she accidentally offends someone with her words. (WIP)

History

Angelica Campbell was born in the bustling city of Silverbrooke. Her parents were poor and the majority of their family wasn’t around because they lived farther away from them. Unwilling to let their only child suffer from illness and malnutrition for the rest of her life, Angelica’s father dropped her off at a foster care center, vowing to return for her once he finds a good job and gets his finances all together. Which he never did. Angelica’s foster parents took her under their wing, a fulfillment of gleaming hope In her new home, Angelica was a timid child. Her speech was soft, hardly audible, but had a precious chime in her voice. When out in public or meeting new people, she would hide her face out of bashfulness. Teresa, Angelica’s best friend, helped her grow out of her shyness. Their playdates inspired her to learn how to build and sew her own toys for her and Teresa to play with. Angelica molded animals with clay, drew paper dolls, and with her father’s help, she sewed simple felt plushies. Throughout the years, her new hobbies transformed to skills. While toy-making became more of a hobby than anything serious, she continues crafting gifts to give to the people in the city in hopes of spreading happiness. Her story doesn't end there. When she thought she stepped into a new life into adulthood, corruption awaited.

She was involved in a romantic relationship once. It had a rough start. Angelica was on her way home after another day working at the bakery until she saw vigorous splashing near the edge of the river downtown. She rushed to pull a young man away from the strong currents that threatened to slip his life away. From this pale man she rescued, Angelica learned he was on a suicide mission. He failed to achieve it. That failure's name? Yasha. She never learned what his true intentions were if it wasn't for suicide alone. The only truth she grasped were of his fictitious tales of fleeing from his home over a family homicide. He emphasized the roles of his corrupted family who "he failed to protect" and how the remainder of his relatives shamed him for his failures. He claimed that family, the greatest influence of any child, serves him no purpose if his family was against every single one of his accomplishments and dreams. His fraudulent tragedy tugged at Angelica's heartstrings and she offered him a place to stay for a little while. Through several months and a stressful recovery, they grew of what looked like an intimate bond. She would bake him savory pastries to lighten him up during bad days and take some time off to listen to Yasha about the novels he writes. He was quite an unusual character, but Angelica was always there for him throughout his recovery. She couldn't think of a happier ending than repairing a broken heart who has relearned to love.

That's not where their love story ended. Since Yasha has maintained his physical health, his personality started losing its warmth. He would show up at her door without further notice, simply inviting himself over. Angelica didn't mind his unexpected visits then. She thought he was only trying to step out of his comfort zone and visit her instead. These visits usually happened at night, right when Angelica would be preparing to sleep. He would ask her odd questions that leave her feeling uneasy inside. She'd brush them off once she changed the subject. She'd find him in places she didn't expect to see him visit, sometimes catching Yasha watching her walk home from where he stood. Or follow her. Yasha grew more hostile and demanding, and these episodes tested her boundaries when he kidnapped her. She couldn't contact anyone for help, as Yasha destroyed her phone and had total control over nearly every aspect of her life. He took over the phone calls and the finances so her basic needs are met and prevent her from setting foot out of the house. Had she attempted escape or disobeyed Yasha in any way, she would be stabbed with sharp instruments, burned in hot coals or metals, whipped until her flesh turned raw and peeled, or discard her in the attic to be subjected into one of his assortment of torture devices. The fear of receiving these punishments at any given moment lost her ability to sleep regularly, even after he set her free a few years later. He made sure to allow all her wounds to heal and appear healthy enough to leave, as to not leave her with physical scars that'd sell him out. They broke up that day, his last words threatening Angelica of keeping his ears open for her if she told anyone of his doings.
