SUMMARY
An energetic and empathetic girl who loves adventuring. She never hesitates to help others, even at the cost of her own wellbeing. She loves to move, and never stays in the same place too long. Feisty, free, and a little impatient, she loves life and those who live it.
Despite having no magic herself, she has super speed thanks to her Air magic ancestry, and can jump long distances with her powerful legs.
Used to be a solo traveller before meeting her best friends Akorri, Jinny, and Shady. Currently travels around Vistus with them, and wouldn't have it any other way.
PERSONALITY
If there's one thing Laerya Lightningdancer is known for, it's her big, bleeding heart. She'll help the cat stuck up the tree and the old granny across the street at the same time, and she'll do it with the biggest grin (sure it's a little cocky, but the sincerity is there). The only thing that overshadows this is her vigor; she's an energy drink in Vistian form with a zest for adventure. She'll see Vistus and beyond, whatever it takes!
While she'll tell you she's perfect, she'll be the first to know she's lying. Her temper's as short as her patience, she'd sooner choke than ask for help, and she doesn't know how to back down from a challenge; all qualities that aren't too great for the leadership positions she often finds herself in. She's working on it, though! And she isn't lying about that.

BIOGRAPHY
Laerya was born in a small town in the Tananshia region of Vistus, and as such has had plenty of exposure to both magic and technology. She grew up with loving parents but felt unfulfilled by the predictability of life in a closed community, so she graduated from school early to become an adventurer.
After a few years of solitary travelling she came across Akorri - or rather, he found her close to death and saved her from becoming prey for a pack of Wolfbeasts.
After taking her in and healing her the two became tentative friends, though that bond faltered the next time they met as Akorri had become a bitter person. Fericeus sent the both of them to Greenglade, a village known for teaching people how to use magic, and in that time they met Jinny, a reclusive mage, and her dragon friend Shady. Their experience in Greenglade was not without its problems, but the time the four of them spent together proved valuable as they became good friends. Laerya now travels Vistus with them and loves every second of it.
Though Lae puts up a chill front (as in, she never talks about it), she's actually plagued by nightmares relating to what happened at Greenglade. It's put a dent in her chipper attitude. She doesn't know what she can do about it, except hope that her fear will fade with time.
"As... oblivious as you are, you're good company." Laerya and Akorri's relationship has not always been as steadfast as it is now. This short story details the dangerous first meeting of the two travellers and acts as the prequel to Vistus.
"Get ready, Greenglade. You're in for a real treat." The main story. Intrigued by her friend Fericeus's offer to study magic in the peaceful village of Greenglade, Laerya and her assigned companion Akorri set out to visit this magical haven. However things are never that simple with Laerya, and the two find themselves forming new friendships and testing old ones as they are caught up in events they never would have expected.
“We’ve been at this for like four months now and you still can’t handle heights?” Four months after the events of Vistus, Laerya and her friends embark on another adventure, making new friends, exploring the far reaches of of their world, testing their bonds, and crossing swords with an old enemy.
RELATIONSHIPS
Hakktan- Significant Other (AndreTXH's character) They met when they were thirteen, a pair of young explorers whose hearts danced to the same tune. Though Laerya was not allowed to be a dedicated adventurer yet, that did not stop her from enjoying one with him. After spending some time together the two grew attached, but had to part soon after. Hakktan gave her his yellow scarf as a memento, and she still wears it to this day. Though they are currently going their own ways, she treasures every one of their encounters and knows they will settle down together one day.
Akorri Lowe - Best Friend Where would Laerya be without Akorri? She doesn't like to think about it. After saving her from becoming Wolfbeast fodder, he let her stay in his home until she recovered. But while their initial meeting was friendly, Akorri had changed in the time they'd been apart, and when they met again he was a completely different, much less amiable person. Though their relationship has suffered its fair share of trials, it has remained steadfast since the incident at Greenglade. While their teasing may look like outright bullying to strangers, they love each other and stick together through everything.
Jinny Ninkei - Best Friend Jinny and Laerya are like sisters. They met when Laerya and Akorri were staying in Greenglade, introduced to each other through the Air magic teacher. It took a while for Jinny to open up, but by the time they had endured the trial at Greenglade, the three of them had become close enough that she was willing to leave her village to travel with them. Laerya loves Jinny dearly and never hesitates to help her out, always ready with the pep talks and general enthusiastic support.
Shady - Best Friend Who knew it was actually possible to not only befriend a dragon, but trust it with your life, too? Laerya and Shady did not exactly have the friendliest meeting and she almost got on Jinny's bad side during it, but after the initial rocky introduction they were quick to warm up to each other. Since a dragon's intelligence matches and even exceeds a Vistian's, Laerya tends to share her troubles with Shady, and while he cannot talk, he reassures her in his own way.
Fericeus Salas - Friend Fericeus is an enigmatic older brother type of figure. She ran into him not long after passing her adventurer exam and he employed her as a field assistant of sorts, sending her to explore areas and collect information for him. They developed a strong friendship during this time and he even offered his home for her to stay in, should she ever need it. Laerya trusts him and cares for him a lot, but is a little concerned about his desire to keep thoughts and information to himself.
Kiyake Soto - Friend When Laerya was introduced to Kiyake through Fericeus, they got along like a house on fire. Their energetic personalities just bounce right off each other; it's not uncommon for people to have difficulty following their conversations since they talk so quickly. Despite this, Lae is slightly apprehensive of her sometimes because of her position as Fericeus's assistant and the fact that she knows a lot more about things than she lets on.
Katarina Vatrica - Friend Laerya didn't exactly need another mother, but she isn't going to complain. There's something comforting about Katarina. They met in Greenglade, where Katarina provided a pillar of support amidst the confusion. Though she can nag sometimes, Laerya knows Kat just wants to see her and her friends succeed, and she appreciates her support.
Elora Flamefur - Distant Relative The Lightningdancers and Flamefurs used to be close clans many years ago. Laerya's first impression of Elora was not a great one; granted Elora was not at her best (being drunk and short-tempered will do that to you, and taverns aren't always the best places to meet your distant family). They have a ways to go before they can form a solid friendship, but not even Elora's hotheadedness will stop Laerya from befriending her.
Yuli Ren - Unsure Laerya does not know what to think about Yuli. They did not get along so well in Greenglade, and despite being Lorelei's accomplice, Laerya can't figure her out. She doesn't understand why someone with an actual moral compass would follow Lorelei's orders.
Lorelei Schreiber - Enemy The less said about Lorelei, the better. They met in Greenglade. Sometimes Laerya still has nightmares about her and what happened in that village. Even after everything Lorelei has done, and will undoubtedly continue to do, Laerya can't help feeling bad for her.
