Katarina's calm nature does well to conceal the sharp fangs hidden just beneath the surface; she is a maternal lady, with all that implies. She is caring, with a quiet confidence that draws people to her, and slow to anger. However, threaten anyone she is close to--particularly a monster or beast--and she will not hesitate to bare those fangs in the form of a raging inferno.

Katarina's home was ravaged by beasts when she was younger, leading her to develop a hatred for them and eventually join the Peacekeepers as Pest Control when she was old enough. She stayed for a few years, honing her skills and helping stop monster attacks before they could happen, but her job did not sit well with her. After seeing the true nature of some of Havran's creatures and the brutal way the Pest Control deals with them, she grew to empathise with the beasts. Her hatred turned to the Peacekeepers, and to herself for aiding them.

When she felt she had reached her limit, she resigned, vowing to protect the creatures of Vistus. She is now a self appointed Monster Guardian and works hard to convince the world to live in harmony with monsters instead of in fear, while also striving to keep them safe.
