About

Aenir Altruis Moon is one of few living descendants of the first crusader, Tempest Altruis. Her lineage was banished from Riavelon after Tempest killed the emperor with the fifth crusader, Sigi Volsung. However, in a secluded part of the country, her ancestors made their home. It was here that they hid their progenitor's keepsake: the circlet Moon. The way of accessing it is only known to Altruis descendants, and thus, it is up to Aenir and Pride to protect it until it is necessary to reveal it. It seems as if no one has appeared trustworthy enough to take it, and even if such person appears, Aenir is reluctant to let them put it on in the first place.

Background

Aenir was the first child of Cigyona Altruis and June Altruis. Cigyona taught Aenir herbal remedies, for it was their talent. June sustained the family with odd jobs from afar. Because of this, Aenir was never close to June. Pride was born two years later. The two sisters became rivals over everything: dancing, cooking, art, singing, anything one could think of. Through these little tournaments of theirs, Aenir discovered her talent in dancing; Pride discovered her talent in art. Whenever June was home, they trained their children on how to protect themselves from danger. Born unable to cast magic, Aenir felt lesser than her sister, but Pride would always reassure her that her skills with a dagger would help her in a pinch. If not that, her agility would save her life.

One day, June never came back home. Cigyona went out to look for them and left the two sisters at home by themselves. That would be last day Cigyona would ever be seen, The fate of their parents is a mystery, but the duo promise each other that they'll stay alive. However, Aenir yearns for the day that she'll finally be able to explore the lands. Stuck at the shrine, she dreamt vivid dreams. Soon, after enough badgering, Pride let her outside to explore the lands. A fatal mistake, the Empire's soldiers caught Aenir and forced her to spit out everything she knew about Moon, the circlet of the first crusader. Locked up in a dark room, she yearned for Pride's safety if not hers.

One day, a woman named Hymn alongside others happens upon Fort Ares, the place where Aenir resided. They stormed the post and rid it of its leader, Kintaro. Hymn and Kriemhilt, in particular, discovered Aenir and followed her directions to the shrine.

Hymn Moon

wife
The first time the two met was when the Freedom Fighters infiltrated Fort Ares. Hearing her bang the door and call for help, Hymn and a few others set off to rescue her. As soon as she was freed, Aenir saw Hymn's face and declared her as her hero. They both thought each other was pretty, though soon, the chemistry would only increase. Hymn, in awe of her dances, asked her to perform some personally for her. Aenir, on the other hand, rambled onto Hymn about random things she thought were interesting. When Aenir's sister died, Hymn knelt beside her and comforted her through the whole affair. She failed Aenir, yet the dancer did not fault her for it. She appreciated Hymn for at least trying. At the end of their trials, Aenir confessed her love for Hymn, and she reciprocated. Twenty years later, after the latest election, she sticks by Hymn's side, supporting her at every turn.

Pride Altruis

sister
After the deaths of their parents, Pride served as a mother figure to her, watching out for her. She never allowed Aenir to go to the surface in fears that the Empire's soldiers would find out their lineage and take advantage of it. As a youth, Aenir grew increasingly more and more frustrated with her nagging. Eventually, Pride relented and let Aenir go to the surface to explore, where the Empire's men captured her and discovered the shrine. Nowadays, she reminisces on her mistakes, thinking that only had she been more careful, Pride would still live. She loved her sister a lot despite their differences, and she clings onto whatever belongings she has left of her, especially Moon, the keepsake of their ancestors.
