Profile

The White Dragon Bastard

Try-hard, Dedicated, Hard-working, Delicate, Calm, Envious

Vai is one of The Blue Dragon's, Caymus, bastard sons. Caymus is very hard on his children, and Vai has always worked hard to keep his approval. Vai is the result of a rare union between Caymus and a non-dragon mistress, so he is only half dragon, and therefore physically weaker than his other half brothers. That is not to say that Vai is not strong. But nothing compared to his kin. His dragon features are not as sturdy and protective as they should be. He became a representative of the Dragon clans in the Senate where all the local and foreign powers meet. His delicate nature is a breath of fresh air there and helps the people not fear dragon-kind. So the Senate is where Vai is able to play to his strengths. He may not have the physical intimidation, but he is quite thoughtful, always considering everyone's sides. However, his father fears that, although Vai is very intelligent, his emotions get the better of him, and his mind can be very easily swayed. But since Vai is very loyal to his father, he tries his best to keep his interests at heart, first and foremost.

Vai tries to keep his private feelings to himself, feeling guilty for feeling envious of others, or wanting more out of life when he's been raised so prosperous when his father didn't have to take him in. He does not know if his mother is still alive or not, and although he is an adult now and capable living independently, he clings to the family he has, scared of losing them.

Trivia:

  • Regardless of it being illegal to take on full-dragon form in The Oasis, Vai wouldn't be able to transform even if he wanted to due being only half dragon.
  • To make up for the lack of natural dragon strength, Vai strenuously works out to keep up with his brothers.
  • Looks out for his younger brother Ina a lot. They are very close.
  • Vai is a selective mute. This helps him think and reflect, and keeps him from being impulsive.
    • The gag itself was a suggestion from his father to help him think with his head and not his heart (his father's words)
    • Vai comes off as quite meek outside of work because of it
  • Vai is particularly close with his uncle,  although he can be just as harsh as his father. He sees a lot more good in him.
