ABOUT

Catalyst is a stubborn and surly member of Ann’s team, with strong opinions and a fiery attitude. Outwardly, she often expresses annoyance and frustration with other team members, but when given the chance to open up, she’s revealed to be rather insecure and uncertain about herself. She hates getting dirty and has traditionally spent most of her time grooming; however, she’s been devoting less and less time to that as her time on the team has continued.

Early Days

When Catalyst first joined the team, she was withdrawn and disliked just about everything, preferring to nap on her blanket most of the time. It wasn’t until Bug managed to draw her out of her shell that Catalyst started taking note of other team members.

Later Days

After Bug’s death, Catalyst tried to reach out to more team members. They were happy to have her, and she slowly became more social, although she still prefers to be alone most of the time. She’s become very invested in training and has even taken Samantha under her wing, helping to show the Salazzle how to best use her fire abilities.

Relationships

Bug was Catalyst’s first real friend on the team. They got along really well, and when Bug kissed her right before the totem WIshiwashi fight, Catalyst realized she was smitten. But Bug never made it back. His death made Catalyst bitter and angry, and she still struggles with it today.

Samantha was originally fairly antagonistic towards Catalyst, seeing her as an obstacle to overcome, but when Catalyst made it clear that she wouldn’t put up with that nonsense, Samantha reluctantly toned it down. She’s now Catalyst’s student, learning how to use her fire moves in ways that won’t cause forest fires.

Elain is Catalyst’s primary sparring partner, and as such the two know each other fairly well. Although Catalyst doesn’t talk much, Elain is generally able to gauge her mood–and call her out when she’s about to do something questionable.
