There appears a King who seeks peace across the Kingdom bestowed to him since birthVictus is the first born of the previous King and is tasked to keep this Golden Era in check since the period of when King Victor ruled. He overcame the pressure set on him the moment we was able to walk.

Everyone assumes that everything was handed to him on a silver platter. But within the Royal castle lies a struggle that Victus persevered through. Despite it was by rule that the firstborn would be crowned King of Cathal, his siblings and the members in the Royal Castle thought otherwise. For years, he was tirelessly playing political games between achieved the crown, with no help except for himself... and one other being.

Now Victus is believed to be a wonderous king. Despite losing his wife twenty years ago, he raises his daughter carefully without the influence from anyone else but his own beliefs. He understands he cannot control the youthful energy of his own child, thus watches from his throne until his time is up.

Strengths

Vadim can be a relentless and fearless ruler, but when he's actual working... he's surprisingly empathetic and kind. Perhaps it's because he has nothing else to do because of no political chaos... but he earns the civilians' favors because of it.

His blade has never left his side since he claimed it as his own, Victus is a ferocious warrior, and quite fights like a brute.

He has the god Charlemagne's full support. Your death is inevitable if you plan to kill him.

The fact that he's a king... to a powerful kingdom. He has access everything in Cathal and technically has almighty control. He can do whatever he pleases without resistance, he has a whole army to command, and he has people that will carry out his orders until death.

Flaws

A King is always busy and rarely has the time to his own personal affairs. Even if he has people to take care of such assignments, Victus remains obligated to attend to them himself.

Because of how he grew up, he has a hard time opening up his actual feelings to others. It takes time for people to understand how he truly feels but on the outside he's harsh and aggressive. Several people would be scared of him at first because of how closed off his personality is.

Don't expect to get some alone time with him. Even if he doesn't like it, he apparently has soldiers that are constantly by his side.

Skills & Abilities

Blade of Harmony
The name isn't what you necessarily except from a large claymore. But it's one of the most powerful weapons in the Kingdom. The blade itself is under the influence of Charlemagne, the God of Rhythm and Harmony, and Vadim is practically unstoppable if he uses it. However, the blade seems like its only capable in Victus' hands and the blade isn't very reliable to other users. Even his daughter cannot use it, despite she is part of the direct bloodline.

The jewel at the base of the blade is the main aspect to the weapon, but the sword appears different from when he first started using it. The jewel used to shine gloriously, but now its cracked and dimly glows. Vadim knows that Charlemagne's powers are still dwelling inside of it, but using at its fullest potential like it had been before... is unlikely. Unless it's under certain circumstances.

Kingdom Come
A good King will have a good army under his control. If he demands it, he has the most disciplined soldiers and the greatest mages as his disposal. Though Vadim doesn't appreciate throwing and sacrificing the lives on his own people but everyone in Cathal knows that Victus has the strongest control and influence of the most capable fighters in the Kingdom.

So, before thinking of trying to fight Victus, as powerful as he is... you must expect a whole army to fight before even pointing a blade at him.

Golden eyes: The royal bloodline
Apparently the golden eyes are one of the most important characteristics to those part of the Royal Bloodline. Victus understood that since he was a child. Though he didn't seem to understand what was so important when it came to the color of one's eyes, but he does know that people with Royal Blood is the most import. Regardless of the color of their eyes, like his siblings, they do possess abilities that no ordinary civilian can have. Their capabilities with magic are more potent than the regular mage, even the most experienced ones. And according to the records of the past, his ancestors were as powerful as gods solely because of this royal blood running through their veins.

Perhaps it was because of this, it was the reason why Charlemagne came to him in the first place...

Trivia

  • Sometimes the amount of fur he wears is obnoxious. But it just emphasizes his king-like nature, supposedly. The most important note is the amount of fur he wears on his layers of cloaks and capes.
    > Once all the cloaks/cape/fur comes off, he's unstoppable during fights.
    > Rarely fights but he's quite powerful than almost all of the soldiers in Cathal.
    > His daughter could never beat him, and will never give up until she wins. The only person that could possibly beat him is Saurin, but the fight had never occurred before.
  • His retainers jokingly call him "The Lion" as they always point to amount of fur he has on him on a regular basis.
    > He also has a pet lion somewhere in the castle. He calls him Pride.
  • Rarely leaves his throne during the day. Even if he wants to, he can't as the advisors keeps him on the chair at all times, burying him in political affairs.
  • Keeps his claymore besides him or specifically locked up somewhere safe. Vadim keeps this sword particularly close and well-taken care of.
    > The blade was a gift from a god whom he believes he'll come back to him one day. However, the older he's gotten, the more he doubt he'll ever come back.
    > The gem that powers the blade is cracked and particularly dulled. However, the gem will start glowing whenever presence of a specific god appears nearby.
    > The sword has capabilities of killing other gods, and capable of blocking any form of magic that are aimed at him.
  • Always calls her daughter a "brat" or a "boy." Her daughter always calls him a "big scary bear."
    > Regardless of the amount of fights he has with her, he's always has someone watching over her.
    > Her daughter seems to be the only one that could understand him truly. And even if she is his daughter, Victus considers Elabelle as her greatest treasure... she is the only family he has right now.
  • If he leaves the castle, he has at least a dozen of the most strongest and capable guards to follow him around. Even if it's just in the courtyard or he's wandering the Kingdom's streets out of pure curiosity.
    > The moment he leaves the castle, it's almost impossible to escape the guards protecting him. Even if he tries. (And even if he tries to dispose one, another one will immediately pop out). It annoys him endlessly.
  • He has no interest in any sort of romantic relationship since the death of his wife.
    > However, he has some feelings towards a particular god, but they've turned mixed since that god left. The last time he saw him was over twenty years ago, just before he married his wife.

Summary

17205446_MopgOMLQm9bC6Yt.png

Victus is the first son of five siblings; all capable and reliable as the Kingdom's future leader. However, the eldest was easily outshone by his four brothers and sisters. As much as he didn't mind it at first, it only became problematic the older they became.

Their parents already planned to retire and the crowned King would be immediately be Victus, as it remained a rule for centuries. The eldest would always be the heir to the throne, let alone his golden eyes was even the bigger case. Out of all the siblings, Victus is the only child born with gold eyes.

Several servants, advisors, and even his siblings were upset with this decision - especially how hard they worked in order to achieve the crown. So, for years Victus closed himself off as he lost the trust of those around him in his own home. Attempts of trying to poison Victus or hiring people to hinder his capability of ruling, he only had himself to believe in. There, his introverted nature caused him to create tension between him and the servants that were loyal to him and even the relationship with his parents was disrupted because they couldn't believe his words.

The only place of peace he found was the secluded, empty garden that he found. Apparently even his siblings didn't find such a spot in the Castle's garden so he often visited there to train for his upcoming duel with the second eldest sibling - who appears to be the most eager to claim the crown for himself. It was his little brother's idea that they would fight for the throne, and Victus, who didn't want to disappoint anyone else anymore ended up obliging.

But one day in the garden he met a god who fell from the divine realm. He wasn't very pleased with his presence there as he appeared as a normal human, but they grew to like each other the longer they spent time together in the garden. Eventhough he had more important things to do, the God appeared to be amused with Victus's existence, and bestowed him a sword and his companionship.

He didn't realize that the sword was more important than it would have been and for him to openly use it made him even more worthy of the throne than his siblings. His siblings surrendered the throne to him immediately after he beaten the second eldest in a fight.

But when he was crowned King, it had been a while since he last visited the Garden. Every week he would come by, but never did the same god appeared. If King Vadim was honest, he misses him dearly... to a point where he felt betrayed after waiting for him for years.

Cathal: the Golden Era

King Vadim married a beautiful princess that came from East. It may have been because of politics they had to get married, solely to remain peace with the Eastern countries. Overtime Victus came to love her, and it took him a long while to finally forget the man he was waiting for.

But their love was short-lived. His queen passed five years after their first child's birth. And now he had to raise his only child by himself, with the help of his advisors. It was up until she was in her teenage years that Victus stopped being over-protective of his beloved daughter. Even after several arguments of wanting to venture out outside of the Kingdom as she pleases... King Vadim still can't help but be worried.

The king knows that it was inevitable that she wanted to break out. Thus, he already had the best men in the Kingdom to accompany her with the adventures.

Relationships

Elabelle

[ Daughter ]

Elabelle is Victus's only child and his greatest treasure. He's rather thankful that he only has one child, so she didn't have to deal with what he's went through in the past of trying to fight for the throne. He understands that there's a lot of pressure as she is the heir to the Kingdom, but he's confident that she knows she was doing. He is his daughter after all.

But when she's out on her own without his guidance, he can't help but be concerned. Everytime she comes home, Vadim always demands that she comes to the castle to report to him, regardless of the time of day. Only because Victus would be stressed to a point he cannot sleep peacefully. His worries often lead to arguments with his child, but it's almost a normal occurrence for such things to happen.

Charlemagne

[ The God of Rhythm and Harmony ]

Charlemagne is the reason as to how he is so powerful. For a God to choose him, is only a sign that Victus was meant to take the throne. The God was Vadim's companion for quite a while... but only until he became king, he disappeared. Vadim accepted that he wasn't going to come back but when he descended the sky again, he was shocked. He thought Charlemagne came back for him again, but...

...not only that wasn't his reason for him to come back, but Charlemagne doesn't even remember who he was in the first place. Victus was pissed at the whole ordeal and tried to cast him out of his Kingdom. But Charlemagne actually recognized the sword that he gave and was interested as to how he acquired it. King Vadim refused to speak of the sword to him, and now the God is constantly on his ass until he tells him how he has the sword.

The Conqueror

[ Enemy ]

Victus knows quite well who the Conqueror is, and considers him as a danger to his Kingdom. Especially when he's quite close to Elabelle, he's feels threatened whenever he enters the inner walls. Yet, the whole time he's been in the city, the Conqueror has no intentions of disrupting and destroying the city - instead he protects the King and his Princess to his own accord. Vadim can't help but be worried for his own home, as he has the capability of razing his Kingdom into flames.

Ser Valence

[ ??? ]

There was reports of a young boy with gold eyes found living outside of the Royal Castle. It was strange, for anyone with such color of eyes to be found anywhere else BUT among the royal family.

But when he met Bernard, he knew of the origin of the color of his iris and he couldn't help but feel pity about the situation he was in. He tried his best to provide some of his support to Valence, but it worked out to the very end. The boy turned into a splendid Knight Enchanter and a renown Guardsman, who is now dedicated into working for the Royal family and for their Kingdom.
