David's Links
Oh, um, well.. dad is... slightly.. i-intimidating? .. Unpredictable? Nice? Revolting? Confusing. Confusing, mainly. David is grateful for him fixing up slighly skewered life and for giving him the chance to develop his true potential - without dad, David could poootentially be dead from overdose, or some other stuff a homeless young person could die of. But at the same time, his motives are.. well, yeah. What are they? Dad claims he just wants everyone (ESPECIALLY himself, as he often mentions) to be happy, but then you look at Feli- Fli-... mara, or Ernest, or any of other actual kids dad had, and.. you can't really tell. Is this what happiness is to Peter? Or is it just a work in progress? Or another ditched project?
Another one of his adopted sons! Admittedly North only found him when David was like, a teenager already, but still, not entirely an adult, away from home by like.. a quarter of the whole planet and casually just drugging himself up in dark alleyways because that's what teenagers do apparently. How could he not take that lemur in? And look, he grew up just fine! Finished higher education, very good addition to main science team, and he's so adorable too, I mean just look at him with his pigeons and everything. Overall his adopted sons are great. All of them colourful too. Honestly, look at his real children, all of them bland white wolves with green eyes, and not even one acid-trip-like kitten? Where's his colour barf babies?!
..he just hopes Er's okaaay... dealing with Flix is probably tiresome, and the guy is so self-conscious about his looks too.. David likes Ernest, they talk quite often and sometimes go for like a drink and stuff. Though not TOO often because Flix is usually around Ernest, and then David feels kinda very awkward. Do they. Do they hate him? Or not? He can't tell?
David is one of the few cool people in the lab. He really likes mythology of any sorts? And reads a lot, so you actually have stuff you can talk to him about. He's nice, though worries about some stuff too much and gets intimidated easily. Tends to stay in his own world, but opens up near his brothers.. er, excluding Flix. But he tries, god bless.
He can barely look Flix in the eyes nowadays. And Flix doesn't give off any positive vibes either, though then again, Flix was never exactly friendly towards anyone. ..Or, well. He was. When he was a kid. ...David only joined in on the ride halfway into the whole "turning this kid's power on" thing. It sounded dumb and pointless, but it was David who was the biology man, and.. could he really say no to dad after he brought him to his house, paid for his therapy, education and gave him a home and a family he missed so much? Did others feel the same way as David, working with Flix? Oh, god, it just feels like the poor mara took the bullet for the whole team of adopted science misfits. Except he never wanted to. And it's his own team that shot him.
Whatever. David is his brother and Flix has nothing against him. He's an okay person, blaming himself for things that weren't his fault. He's also boring as all hell, too. To the point where Flix barely remembers his name sometimes. Pigeons? Really? Out of all things. Pigeons. Great.
Leo is um, strange. And scary. His hypnosis is terrifyingly powerful, and David is always scared of looking him in those silly spiral-glasses, afraid that even one glimpse can let Leo see into his mind and take it over. Though why would he do that? They're brothers! They're on one side, right? He doesn't.. hate him, right?
One of his adopted brothers. Funny guy. Bravely fought off an awful addiction, an impressive feat for a regular Mobian he is. Other than that.. er.. nothing special. Kinda quirky? Really calm guy. Will do anything for Mr. Cat. And obsesses over his pigeons. And talks to Ernest more than to Leo.
To fit in with the rest of the group, Bast seems... suitably insane. Not like, dangerously so (and David will TRY TO MAKE SURE IT STAYS THAT WAY), but also he gobbled up half a raw pumpkin with his bare hands. Um.
...But he's nice! Definitely more sensitive about people than Kissa, got his heart in the right place, uh... perhaps a bit too fast. Haha. ...No seriously, not just on legs, but with thinking and talking, too. Maybe talking and doing more than thinking. Releasing a lab rat from a laboratory of abominations...
...David is determined to help him find out how to halt, or maybe even reverse that.. eye problem. There has to be a way! He'll figure something out, for Bast!!
David is a good kid! A little squeamish when it comes to fighting, but his heart is certainly set in the right place! Although whilst he seems mostly down to Mobius when it comes to taking action, there's abeen a few moments where the Lemus has panicked more than Bast thought he would. Like! It was just a rat!!! it's fine!! let them be free!!!!
But for the most part, Bast likes David and is glad he's on his side, and that he was so... ready to offer his help with the whole. eye. thing.
Both the cat and her.... c a t are VERY specific creatures. What did she DO to the poor guy? ...At least he listens, I guess? So he'll listen if she tells it to... stay away from Io and Titan... please?
And he doesn't want to antagonise anyone, really! She seems smart, and she knows what she wants, that's... great! But he just hopes Kissa realises that if she tangles herself into some weird mess, he's really not planning on helping her out of it. ...Although he appreciates that she um, seems to be interested in the mysterious side of things with that whole maelstrom, maybe she wants to figure out how it works like he does! The rest of the team seems a bit more focused on... wrecking anything related to it. Can't blame them, but uh, maybe if they put their heads together they could... come up with some... solutions, hopefully!
David is a fun time these days. He's easy to rile up, fun to prod...
...
And he'll probably be the first to figure this all out. That's sort of what she's most excited about.
They... don't seem to enjoy spending time with people much? Or rather, maybe they like spending time alone. They also appear to be a werebeast! That's super curious, he's seen some people inflicted by that in dad's lab! Or born with it, which... hm. Wonder what's her story with it? She also spoke the weird girl's language... is that connected?
Despite the fact that she spends time largely on her own, it's uh, nice that she's tagging along and... protecting the team in battles with these creatures. She's experienced with the halberd! He's sure to uh, get out of her way in the battlefield, and just support her from the sidelines with his elixirs of weird flavours.
Out of the entire group, she honestly has little to no opinion of David as is. He doesn't seem like a bad person? All she can really say is that his bird is pretty cool. Though she for the life of herself doesn't understand his thing with soda, how does that work? It really confuses her a lot. But she does appreciate that he is much more calm than the others of the group, a single calm beacon in the chaos.
She?
Eats?
Books??????????
And is made of... ink........? Pilfer continues to appear uh.... c-confidently lost, although she definitely has her moments. A lot, actually. ...She's kinda damn smart for what appears to be a crossover between E.T. and female Tarzan. ...Well, ok, not *all* the time, though, but when that isn't the case, her strength is very valuable! ...And then she turns into a tree!
WHAT. THE FUCK!!!!!!!
But hey, they picked up a common interest, that's surprising! Her toad's so interesting! He hopes she likes his pets, too - and hopes Chik-Chik stays away from Sausage. Oh no.
...He also hopes she doesn't hold it against him that he left her with the guards that one time, he really didn't intend to, he just... panicked real bad and... aa a aa a
Ohey! Y'know, for being a smart guy, David can sometimes be real dumb! The point of a distraction is for you to run away! You're not meant to run back again and then throw fire at the people who are distracted! They really need to get on the same page because that plan did not go AT ALL to plan.
Still, they both made it through! Which is good, because Pilfer likes David! If they have to go to anyone in the party to ask questions, or require a smarter insight, the lemur is definitely her go-to.
Plus! They both like animals! David can hold Sausage whenever he wants to. c:
