Chuck grew up in rural Alabama for the first seven years of his life, until both his parents were killed in a farm accident.
Broke and with no where else to go he made his way to New York to live with his uncle, a Draki goon who's frankly dumber than hell.
He became close friends with Luke despite being three years younger, and was 100% on board with the idea of making the Golden Colubrids.
He's a huge sucker for Fry's cooking, and though he is a bit of a chunk, under all that fat is a brick wall of muscle.

Now he helps keep the gang on a schedule, especially keeping the kids on a steady routine.
The youngest kids in the crew all practically cling to Chuck when he's in the tenement building they call home.
He's very protective of this patchwork family they've got and will absolutely take a hit for any one of 'em.

Chuck got his nickname from his habit of chewing on Popsicle sticks and toothpicks, and he's also adept at woodworking.
He scrounged an old lathe and set of tools from behind a woodworking shop, repairing the lathe and sharpening the tools by hand.
Now any spare time he gets is either spent making small wooden trinkets or sleeping.
